An absolutely amazing experience! The food was top notch and the monorail is so fun for adults and kids alike. The owner is super kind, gives amazing recommendations and made us feel at home. Can’t wait to go again!

Very nice restaurant to eat sushi. The concept is very futuristic, and we really loved seing the monorail train coming at our table to deliver the food. I highly recommend this place, the quality of the sushis is incomparable to other restaurants in the same price range. Thank you for your hospitality, and I will see you soon!

Fun experience and nice small plates. We tried a lot of different things. I think their drinks menu could improve. Otherwise, nice food and nice interior.

Had the chance to dine at Chūō recently while visiting London, and it was a fab experience. The lovely owner seated us, kindly indulged questions about the monorail system, and made thoughtful menu recommendations. Everything was wildly flavourful, super fresh, and made for a memorable meal - still dreaming about the Nasu Dengaku!

So good. The delivery is a fun and handy gimmick, and the food was great. Looking forward to them expanding their menu a bit. They kept topping up our water too which was great. The only dish we weren't a fan of was the aubergine; the sauce seemed to be just plain sugar. The chicken yakitori was amazing, as was the tataki and the special rolls. We loved it and have recommended to loads of people already.

Incredibly generous service, the waiter there is superb. I came in near closing time just after 9 PM, where they close at 10 PM. The waiter told me the kitchen closes at 9:30 PM, which is fine, I can just order everything immediately. I ordered in two batches. The first batch was ordered and came soon, and a smaller second batch was ordered. The second order only partially came and the waiter investigated and the kitchen forgot to make the last couple of my dishes. The waiter offered that the kitchen to make the last couple of dishes but I said was not necessary as you are closing. So the waiter cut those items from my bill but surprisingly, gave me a large 30% discount because of the missing items. This was very much unnecessary and wholly gracious. This is how you treat customers, acknowledging a fault and rectifying it. Would recommend.

Delicious, freshly made sushi that arrives on a monorail via a conveyor belt. We went with our 2 year old, who thoroughly enjoyed waiting for the sushi monorail and ate all his salmon maki. The only thing that would have made the experience more comfortable if the restaurant had at least 1 high chair, or a chairs with backs on them, so that it would've been safer for young children and more comfortable for people with bad backs.

10 out if 10. The whole monorail concept is cool as is, but the sushi is banging and the staff can't do enough for you. Spicy edemame was a particular highlight but the sweet miso aubergine was just incredible. Someone's had the vision to make an aubergine taste exactly like a doughnut and they obviously work here. Must try.

Don’t be put off by gimmickiness of food monorail delivery or ordering online. Food quality is superb. Impeccable attention to detail such as sushi rice at the perfect temperature (not too cold), prawn tempura not greasy (fried at high temperature) and only a light sear on tataki despite charred flavour(blow torch+smoke gun?). Very affordably priced, in combination with a very high standard of cooking.

My rating is not 5 stars purely from a family with young children perspective. Our 3 year old adores trains and my wife and I love sushi so when we saw Chuo we knew we had to visit. Pros - Our son loved the monorail and I am happy that the monorail delivery is not the be all and end all - Food was well prepared, if a little small in portion size, but prices are competitive for an eat in, made-to-order sushi restaurant - Premises is clean, modern, well designed - Staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and enhance the dining experience - Wait times are very reasonable. We actually deliberately ordered only 2 dishes at a time so we could see the monorail deliver the dishes and flow of food was a good pace even with a near full restaurant - Online ordering and wifi without sign up worked seamlessly, the whole ordering system is flawless - Plate returning in the little 'letterbox' is oddly satisfying and great for encouraging younger kids to eat and help send the plates away! Cons - All seating is 'bar seating'. Highchairs provided are well below the table height which is awkward for younger children - For older diners, stools rather than chairs may not be the most comfortable - Menu is somewhat limited, would have liked to see more roll types, bowls (maybe even a sashimi don) and more hot food options (yakisoba, ramen, karaage etc.) - Some items were sold out (prawn tempura - which also meant a number of rolls were unavailable) Overall pleasantly surprised and a good experience with solid, well made sushi but has some drawbacks if you have young children.

Welcomed and seated straight away, really friendly waitress. Ordered via an app at the table, which is great because you can pay after each orders and then order more from the table as you want. Food comes via a monorail next to the table, which is novel and super cool. Food tastes great, really nice sushi that’s fresh and good quality. Sake is lovely, I actually bought a bottle and enjoyed the whole thing there. Will definitely be coming again!

Not a lot of hot food options but the sushi is very fresh and yummy and offers a range of fish including yellowtail and eel! the mono rail is also a very well done concept and sushi cafe out so fast which was especially fun watching the train come in and out! also good range of veggie plates !

We found CHŪŌ online as it was conveniently located for us and we were thrilled with our experience! The sushi was delicious and all great quality, service was great and the owner made our experience very personal. We had a lovely time and would 100% recommend to others!

Cooking is of a very high standard. Sushi rice at the perfect temperature, tempura light and not greasy, tataki has a charred smokey flavour, for example. We normally order a bunch of futomaki and uramaki rolls and all of the tataki's. The tuna tataki is a standout. Service is quick. Very affordably priced, which is all the more surprising given the high standard of cooking.

Tuna was very stale and stinky. I couldn’t eat tuna. It’s first time for me to be served this quality tuna. I really don’t recommend here as Japanese.

I go at least once a week for sushi. Amazing food, lovely staff and great value. They keep adding new additions to the menu so there is a great variety. Highly recommend

Best tuna sashimi we had in a long time. And the yellowtail and salmon was also excellent. Absolute freshness and a lovely menu with high quality Japanese food. We loved the futomaki with soft shell crab. Also the california roles were filled with real crab. Yummie all-round and great value for money too. The monorail is really entertaining and food is delivered fast and neat with the monorail next to your table. I hope we will see a Chuo opening soon in Amsterdam. Thanks, it was a memorable evening.

Chuo, chuo Sushi! This place is a creative gem of Japanese delight. With digital table service, you order your food on an app and it gets delivered to you with precision on a miniature high speed monorail exactly where you are seated. Further, food is absolutely delicious. Quality ingredients and great taste. I was out to dinner with a friend who found this place and we ended up talking to the owner who explained the concept. Having lived in Japan and with a long history in hospitality and fine dining, he wanted to bring an authentic sushi experience to London without compromising quality. Job well done. Definitely recommend

Fresh & incredible quality sushi. So much choice including things I’ve never seen before. I need to go back so I can work my way through the menu! The sashimi pieces were really generous. John was so knowledgable & helpful. And the monorail was a lovely bit of added fun. This is definitely my new go to sushi venue.

We went to the restaurant and were greeted by a super friendly waiter. He explained everything on how to order and helped us out when we weren’t sure about the app. The food arrived pretty quickly by the monorail, maybe 3-5min after we ordered. We had a large selection of sushi (Green Dragon Roll, Shake & Avocado Uramaki, Spicy Maguro Uramaki…) and a few starters (veg gyoza, beef yakitori and tataki). Everything was delicious, nicely presented and tasted very fresh. The only thing missing on the menu for me was on option to drink tea.

Best value for money. The quality of the food along with the service that John gave us will be the reason why we will return if we are in the area and want to enjoy sushi. I hope there are more Chuo's in the future near where we live because it would be one of our favorite options.

Aside from the incredible service and very cool monorail, the food was spectacular!! Sushi is top grade and the yakitori sauce is unbelievable. All for an extremely affordable price! Will definitely be back for more.

Great food - top quality ingredients. Fresh, flavourful and delicious. Had an excellent meal in this low key, confortable restaurant with its fun monorail delivery to your table. You couldn’t better this place for atmosphere or value - their sashimi and sushi are truly accomplished. I also had a brilliantly fresh ‘hot bowl’ of salmon, rice and al dente broccoli - balanced and crisp - and the prawn tempura that my friend had were light as a cloud and v tasty. Recommend highly.

Reserved a spot through Fork, which offered 30% off. Got instructed by the server to put a discount code in at the checkout on the app. Instead, the app asked for card details at the point of registration, and then the checkout never happened - the card got charged with the full amount hours after we left the restaurant, so the opportunity to use the code as never provided. Messaged Chuo on Instagram asking to rectify the issue and emailed customer service after I was told to, was asked for and provided screenshots of payment and booking confirmation, got ignored afterwards completely. 2 stars because the lady who served us was lovely and food was ok. But completely ignoring the issue of a refund, especially after acknowledging the problem, asking for proof and receiving the screenshots, is very poor. Highly disappointing and would not recommend as feels unfair and scammy.

As a train fiend this place hit the spot. Went during Valentine’s Day and the DJ was on point and so was the food. I recommend ordering a lot of food at the start of your evening to make sure you try lots of different dishes. Try the Yakitori it’s the best thing there

I love the mono rail, the only one in Europe! What an efficient and clever way to serve our food. Seamless. Served by the owner John who is passionate about his business and makes the whole experience personal in the best possible way. It’s some where to bring friends and clients. The food is delicious. Please come to Edinburgh and open there!

Very friendly stuff, quick service and the monorail is fun (try to seat at one of the tables with it!). Food is also good: fresh, tasting greatly, and the variety is there.

Visited for a Wednesday dinner not knowing what to expect. Food was excellent and the service was equally great. It was very good value and we enjoyed all the sushi, and it is great fun it being delivered by monorail!Don’t miss the yakitori skewers!

This is genuinely the BEST place I have ever been to! It's an unbelievable hidden gem that needs to be discovered by the masses. The owner, John, is so kind and gave us a service to remember. He took the time to tell his story around places in Asia and how the concept of the restaurant was created. His food prices are very fair, so rare to see. You order so many dishes without worrying about the bill, unlike so many other restaurants in London where everything is overpriced including the dreaded service charge. Chūō understands the customer's needs and wants. That is key. That is the difference. I urge you all to visit this restaurant and enjoy this delicious Japanese cuisine!! Thank you John for a great experience shared by my girlfriend and I. Keep going with your vision!! We wish you the best of luck!

In my experience at Chuo Sushi Monorail, the simplicity of the interiors and the focus on the sushi monorail feature added a unique touch. The food, especially with the 30% corporate discount, provided excellent value, costing approximately £22 for a variety of dishes. Feedback to Chefs: keep doing what you are doing, the culinary skills contribute significantly to the appeal of the restaurant, and maintaining this standard will likely attract repeat customers. However, the self-service nature of the restaurant and a lapse in service during a quiet period affected my overall impression. Despite a promised complimentary miso soup, I had to remind the staff multiple times before receiving it. Feedback to Management: Timely fulfillment of complimentary offerings would enhance the customer experience.

Really great place to stop and grab some quick the sushi. The quality of the food is close to the quality you get in Japan. I have one bit of constructive advice. Install ipads to the table like they have in Japan rather than the QR code at the table. More sociable and fun that way!

Accueil et service excellents. Ce petit resto vaut le détour pour les amateurs de sushis 👍 A quelques minutes de la station Liverpool Street ou de l'arrêt de bus Primrose Street.

Really fun concept and extensive menu - some of the best sushi I’ve had in a while.

Fantastic sushi topped with a unique experience.I live in Vancouver where the sushi quality is very high, but I actually think this was better. It came out quickly, but not worryingly so. You could tell straight away that it was handmade for me and super fresh. I came away full but for half the price I’m used to paying. It was excellent value. I will for sure be coming back next time I’m in town. Long live the monorail!

Visited CHUO sushi after seeing it on TikTok and I can confirm that it's as good (if not better) than the reviews! What I liked the most about it is that the QUALITY of the sushi is great and better than almost all sushi places I've tried in London. It's so easy to order and it's a nice experience overall. We loved the Prawn Tempura, Spicy Edamame, Spicy Shake Gunkan (my fave), Unagi Hosomaki, Shake Avocado Uramaki! Giving it 5 stars for sure and the only thing that can be improved is the portion size as they were quite small. Besides that, would highly recommend!!

A little bit on the pricier side as the sushi portions are 2-4 per plate even for maki but worth it for the experience we had a lot of fun!

Incredible experience and great food !

I went here around 2pm on a Friday. It was empty which I was glad for as it meant I missed the lunch rush. It’s clean with plenty of space. Yes, the monorail is a fantastic touch. It’s both personal and impersonal. You don’t need to speak to anybody more than needed but you know your food is coming directly to you and avoiding the hands of people who like to pick up things they later don’t want and put back. All the food was fantastic. The highlights were the unagi maki, prawn tempura uramaki and dragon rolls. The staff member there was extremely welcoming. A great first time experience.

I thought I had eaten sushi before (from Waitrose, M & S Food, Costco snd Yo-Sushi) but when I tasted the food at Chuo it was a totally different experience. Beautifully cooked, delightful presentation, subtle but distinct flavours, and everything so fresh. I simply cannot rate it highly enough. To find this quality at this price is fabulous! The monorail service is a happy novelty for the customer. For the restaurant it is efficient and cost effective. Go with friends, as I did and the clean & simple decor is fine. The moment the food arrives you are all smiling and talking about it and unaware of any lack of interior design; that is irrelevant!

While looking for a quick bite to eat before a night out me and my friends came across CHŪŌ. The staff were so polite and helpful when it came to deciding what we were going to order. We went for a selection of different sushi but my personal favourite was the green dragon roll which I will be back to get my hands on again!

For a relatively new place they certainly know what they’re doing. The pork and nasu dengaku are particularly good. The monorail adds to the whole experience.

It is absolutely the best! There are so many veggie options and a great environment. Had so much fun! Also, there are such great hot options for veggie food.

Fast service at good price. The trains are funny!

The process of ordering on your phone was quick and easy and the food came out really quickly after placing our order. The sushi was delicious and fresh, and the few hot dishes we had were nice (aubergine was a bit too sweet though). Although we did enjoy the food, I was so disappointed to find that there was a very large piece of tuna fish bone in one of our sushi rolls!! (special roll) and it dug in to my mouth slightly, but fortunately I was able to spit it out. I was shocked as I've never had this happen before with sushi and now I feel like I have to be extra cautious! I dread to think that I could’ve really injured myself or even swallowed a Chunky fish bone. I alerted the waiter and he checked and made an excuse that they source and get their fish cut externally and he didn’t even seem empathetic or offer any sort of replacement or compensation. I am not one to be confrontational especially when we had paid for the meal at the beginning (when placing the order), so I didn’t pick up a fuss as other people in my position would have! In addition to this, I noticed that customers who came after us were offered table water as soon as they were seated and not once was this offered to us. The downfall in service and the dull ambience of the restaurant lets this place down, which is such a shame as the food was good.

Really amazing and affordable sushi! Being Japanese it’s quite hard to find a good Japanese place you want to go out and eat but Chuo will definitely be the one. The miso aubergine was my absolute favourite, so fresh and crispy. Good place with your colleagues, your date or take your family to

The food looks different than in the menu, the amount of fish as I can see from the reviews is continuously decreasing. Cost cutting is obvious ☹️

One word to describe my experience…. WOW!! Incredible service, even better food and out if this world concept - getting my food delivered to my table by a monorail? YES PLEASE. The range of vegetarian options is also unheard of for for a sushi restaurant. RUN, DO NOT WALK - you dont want to miss out

I'll let you in on a secret. This place, whilst reasonably new, serves Roka quality food, at Itsu prices. The concept is fantastic, and you can tell a lot of detail and care has gone into the execution, on every possible level. I would not be surprised if this is the next big hit on the London food scene, once the secret it out. Get in early, whilst you can.
