The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Booked table for 4pm but unfortunately our food order wasn't taken till 5.20pm not sure why it took so long. A larger table came in well after us and their order was taken before us. I did chase and made sure our food came out before there's - once it arrived the food was lovely Just need to keep an eye on this just some feedback for you to improve on

Visited earlier in the week and booked an 8.30pm table a couple of days in advance, on the day we received a call from the restaurant asking if we could move the time to an earlier slot so the chefs can clean the ovens... though thinking it was a strange ask we agreed to the ask. When we got there we had a decent enough meal, where we were served by the same lady who called us earlier in the day. We ordered a bottle of wine with the meal which arrived corked and was told I would need to open it myself. OK, again strange but we did it without complaint. Once we finished the meal we moved to the bar area for a couple of drinks (before 9pm), we sat and watched the same waitress start to close all of the blinds in the place and hovering over people's tables for anything she could see was finished with. By the time we got to 9.30 she came over to all the tables being used and asked 'are you finishing up?' we said not yet as we had only got some new drinks. People obviously felt uncomfortable as other tables did finish up and leave after that, leaving us as the last table. As soon as that was the case the waitress then came back to our table to tell us 'just to let you know that we are the last ones at the bar now'. So we basically were hounded out of the place by 9.45pm! We finished our drinks and started walking out, guess who followed us with the keys... yes the same super waitress who locked up as soon as we were through the doors. Lovely send off! What was supposed to be a nice meal out ended up being a pretty unpleasant experience. Shame as people have said good things about this place but if that is how the staff act then I wouldn't waste your cash there. There was obviously a plan to get people out as early as possible so the staff could finish up and go home, starting with the phone call. Shocking experience all round.

We had the pleasure of dining at Casa Cento for Mother’s Day as a family of eight, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish! The warm and welcoming atmosphere, combined with excellent service, made our day extra special. Every dish we ordered was delicious, but I have to highlight the Pollo Con Funghi - chargrilled chicken served in a rich, creamy mushroom sauce that was absolutely mouth-watering. It was cooked to perfection, full of flavour, and I would highly recommend it! To top it all off, I had the warm chocolate souffle for dessert, which was scrumptious. The perfect balance of rich chocolate and a soft, indulgent texture. Not only was the food outstanding, but the entire dining experience was well worth every penny. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant again. Thank you for a memorable day.

This Pizza shop never lets down. The pizzas are surprisingly tasty. The ingredients are high quality and his magic pizza sauce is amazing. I would highly recommend the pizzas here. I haven’t found anywhere better

Started with a cold beer. Refreshing. They made me a pepperoni pizza even though it wasn't on the menu . Very tasty. Finished with a flat white coffee. Excellent . Recommended.

Excellent quality food and great service in combination. I've been to two other Italians in town in the reasonably short time that I've lived in the area. One was part of a chain and was disappointing at best, the other which is an independent, was absolutely abysmal! Gino's is it the absolute polar opposite of these two. A beautifully presented dining room and great, attentive staff compliment and authentic Italian menu. I came with my partner and her mum and all three of us were served perfectly cooked and delicious Italian food. What more could you want! I'm currently booking a table for valentine's Day for myself and my partner. I think that's enough of a recommendation right there! Thank you so much guys and see you soon.

I am disappointed to report, it was a very average experience. When we arrived no one greeted us so we walked down past the bar to be told to move back to reception. We were shown our seat but the greeting was far from welcoming. When ordering my husband wanted the sirloin steak. The waitress said they had it but wouldn’t recommend it as it was the fatty cut left and strongly suggested he choose the pork chop. He said he’d have the burger instead, but the waitress continued to encourage him to have the pork chop. What was that all about?! We were sitting near the door and a couple came in without a booking. They were turned away. Ten minutes later they came back they had booked a table online. I found this bizarre why did they get turned away?! The food came and was passable although the chips were so salty I couldn’t eat them. The burger was good but I could have got one like that anywhere, it just nothing special. The restaurant setting itself is lovely, small and cosy just a shame about the food, and the staff. I am afraid we won’t be going back, it just meet the mark.

An unexpected and very happy find. We were hungry so just went in on the off chance. Thankfully they had space for two. Dough balls were the best I’ve had and pizza was defo up there with the best too. Excellent. And a great bottle of red for 28

I couldn't breathe after eating - it was that filling. I felt like I was sent into a food coma. The food is really good. I had seafood risotto and my partner had meat calzone for mains. For starters, we shared a cheesy garlic bread. All meals were cooked to perfection. They were all served in generous portions as well. The staff were hospitable and nice. Chef came out to give us our main meals which was refreshing to see. Gave it a unique feel. Would come back. 🫶🏻

Well I have to say this is the best place I've found to eat for a long time steak was amazing carnt belive we nearly made a massive mistake to go miller and carter 20 x better thankyou for your lovely service oh and bang on trend pistachio cheesecake yum 😋 be back very soon

Es uno de los restaurantes donde hemos almorzado varias veces y siempre hemos tenido una buena experiencia. Pero esta vez la comida era muy buena. Me gusta mucho Spaghetti alle Vongle y Penne Arrabiata. Me han gustado otras veces, pero esta vez se cocinaron con profesionalidad. Muy sabroso, y la pasta cocinada todo dente. Bien hecho al Chef.
