There was literally hair in my food!!

Delaviz turned the first night of the year into a wonderful memory for me and my friends. Everything was great, but what will make me recommend Delaviz to everyone from now on is their incredible hospitality. Ok so we have been here before and had a good meal so we decided to book in for a birthday meal and try the whole lamb because it sounded amazing, our table was booked for 6pm we did not even get our starters until 730, they then brought the lamb out after another long wait and carved us all a piece to try. Most of us spat it out because it was just gristle. They then took the meat away and there so called butcher carved it for us at this point it just looked like a board of complete mess. They then brought the lamb back to the table and spilt lamb fat all over my daughter’s jumper and down her back. They said they would sort something out with the.bill at the end but when asked we were told to take it to the dry cleaners but obviously the clothes were ruined and would not come clean! We won’t be going back and definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

Outstanding food. We had the 12oz ribeye, lamp chops, grilled asparagus, carrots and mash potato. The sauce that comes with the ribeye I absolutely loved. Thank you to the staff for this lovely evening

Went to de la vies during Ramadan and was not disappointed. We were served by GEORGE. The food was absolutely spot on. My steak was cooked medium rare and I cannot emphasise how impressed myself and my friends where with the food in general, will definitely be visiting again.

Me and my partner visited yesterday for the first time after being recommended by friends and family and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was extremely good. Will certainly be returning as soon as possible.

I struggled a lot with myself whether to write this text or not, but because we spent a lot of money and unfortunately it was not something worthy of praise, so I will give this review so that others do not make a mistake. Let them get drunk to justify their lack of work, but unfortunately this poor performance is not hidden, there were many of us and I am writing this complaint on behalf of all my friends, maybe you will accept it if you are open to criticism, and if not, I hope you will correct this procedure, good luck. I struggled with myself whether to write this text or not, but since we spent a lot of money and unfortunately it was not something that was worthy of praise, I am writing this review on my own behalf so that others do not make mistakes. The kebab was very poor and some of the kebabs that were brought were raw. The dancer was not present for more than twenty minutes. The service was not appropriate at all. The food receipt was not delivered and the list of expenses was not announced at all. The employees initially tried to justify their incompetence by insisting on drinking alcoholic beverages that would make us drunk. Unfortunately, this poor performance is not hidden. There were many of us and I am writing this complaint on behalf of all my friends. Maybe if you are open to criticism, you will accept it. If not, nothing. I hope you will correct this procedure. The food was not good at all. The koobideh kebab was undercooked, and the inside was completely red. The barg kebab was the same—undercooked and inedible. However, the atmosphere and vibe of the place were very friendly and pleasant. It’s a shame that such a restaurant, with a great environment, has such poor food quality.

A Disappointing Experience at De La Vies Unfortunately, my experience at De La Vies was far from pleasant. From the beginning, the staff was rude and unprofessional, making us feel unwelcome. The service was incredibly slow and disorganized. The food was equally disappointing—considering the high prices, the quality was simply not acceptable. I had hoped that at least the taste and presentation would make up for the poor service, but unfortunately, that was not the case. To make matters worse, the restaurant didn’t even have enough parking slots, which made the whole experience even more inconvenient. Based on this experience, I don’t think I’ll be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to others. I sincerely hope the management takes serious steps to improve their service and overall quality.

On our first visit, just about a year ago, we stopped by for a light bite. The premise was empty at that time. When we asked the waiter about the portion size, he felt bothered by question, like why are we bothering his day. It was unpleasantly cold in the restaurant. Food quality was good. We chose the restaurant to celebrate our marriage anniversary. Food was very nice, well seasoned, colourfull lovely presentation. Dessert was a little too heavy. Staff is friendly. Husband was not impressed with the food, however he appreciated the generous wine selection. There were small children crying and shouting, wich interrupted repetedly our evening. Unlikely to go again.

Avoid at All Costs – Overpriced and Awful Service! If I could give zero stars, I would. This restaurant was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The service was beyond terrible—slow, rude, and completely disorganized. The staff seemed like they didn’t care at all, ignoring customers and making us wait forever for everything. To make matters worse, the food was ridiculously overpriced for what you get. Small portions, mediocre taste, and definitely not worth the money. I left feeling completely ripped off. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This place is a total waste of time and money!

We ordered fish and kebab and the food quality was very poor.

! Not allergen safe ! I only post this as a measure of safety for those with allergies - those without should see other reviews for better accuracy. The menu has some allergens marked, but when asking staff different people gave different answers, some dishes definitely contain allergens not listed, and worryingly, the staff mentioned different chefs use different ingredients/methods, I just could not risk it. I’ve heard lots of good things about the steak and the food, so for people without allergens other reviews will inform you better, but those with allergies should attend with extreme caution or avoid.

Our recent two visits were very bad. The service was very slow. The quality of food was not as expected. The place and food were cold. No proper heating. Won't visit until we hear things are improved!

This place is a hidden gem. A lovely Persian restaurant with a lovely atmosphere & great tasting food, red wine , cocktails & coffee.The staff are lovely too. Estamos tan destripados e infelices. Es la segunda vez que nos hacen esto. No se los recomiendo chicos. Gestión de calidad muy baja.

I have contacted the lady owner of this restaurant on landline, few days before new year. I asked her for atleast 3 people booking and more likely to be added more gusts. We have spaces' she said over the phone. I will confirm it with you ,if you reply me on my watsapp with your name' she continued ' I have left her straight away the watsapp message, but she replied me 2 days later (( No space sorry)). We are so gutted and unhappy. This is a second time that they have done this to us. I do not recommend them to you guys. Very low quality management.

I booked Del La Vies for our annual christmas night out with family for 17 adults. What an gorgeous little place. The food was absolutely amazing!! Starters came out really hot and definitely top quality ingredients. Mains took a little while to come out probably an hour after our starter but the atmosphere was so fun we didn't mind too much. The staff were friendly and looked after us well. The steaks here are a must!! Probably one of the best iv ever had. The koobideh kebabs were awesome. Most mains are served with potatoes and we definitely had way to much potatoes!! Everything came out piping hot!! And the owner.....what an absolutely lovely woman. She came to check on us a few times throughout the evening but also her communication prior to the night was really pleasant. A very genuine lady who really cares about her restaurant reputation. Can't wait to go back!! And a full round of tequila shots on the house was a lovely touch to finish the night!! Thank you for an amazing night!!

**NO BABY CHANGING FACILITES**. Astonished that an established restaurant like this doesn’t have them. Had to change our baby on the floor of the staff room which had a disgusting carpet and waiter had to ask staff to leave it. I did speak to the owner about it…she was apologetic but didn’t seem that bothered to be honest. Left with a bad taste in my mouth. Big shame as the rest of our experience and food was really good.

Had heard good things about here and it didn't disappoint. It's tucked away in a side street and doesn't look like much from the outside but it's lovely inside. Really nice atmosphere. The food was very good. Everything beautifully cooked and tasty. The service was really friendly and relaxed. You wouldn't want to go here if you were short of time but it wasn't slow service either. We felt looked after. We had some hummus and Iranian breads to start which was really tasty. Then ribeye with some vegetable sides. Everything was great. I'd come back.

El kebab estaba demasiado cocido y duro. Ni siquiera pude terminarlo. El arroz estaba mal cocido y tenía un sabor suave. Limpieza: La mesa estaba pegajosa, y el baño estaba sucio. No es una agradable experiencia gastronómica. Me di cuenta de una mosca zumbando alrededor de nuestra comida, que era realmente apagado - poner , Largos tiempos de espera y el personal muy grosero que ni siquiera estaban para limpiar la mesa y darnos algunas servilletas.

The quality of the food was very low, the staff was inattentive and rude, the service was poor, the tables and dishes were dirty, and I didn't like eating food in such a dirty place at all. The poor quality food, including the rice, was not fully cooked, and the kebab was like rubber, and the buffet food was very bad, there was a long queue to get food, and when it was Amon's turn, only kashm and eggplant were left, and the rest of the food was finished, and the staff did not pay attention. He said that the food is over, as if we were waiting in line for the offering, when the food is over, it was a really bad experience. I will never go to this restaurant again.

The kebab was overcooked and tough. I couldn't even finish it. The rice was undercooked and tasted bland. Cleanliness: The table was sticky, and the toilet was dirty. Not a pleasant dining experience. I noticed a fly buzzing around our food, which was really off-putting, long wait times and the very rude staff who were not even to clean the table and give us some napkins. In my opinion, it was the worst restaurant I've ever been to, both in terms of the quality of the food, which was really awful, and in terms of the service and the very rude staff, and the food dishes were full of stains, the tables were dirty and sticky, and the bathroom was also very dirty and dirty. She was also a woman, I will never go again

Service was very slow and at point couldn’t find any members of staff on the floor. Food was lovely hot and well cooked and presented but our sides were forgotten, by the time we were able to flag staff down the sides came when we were finished. The live music was a nice touch but couldn’t hear him from where we were sitting. I really feel if this place dimmed the lights a little added some mood lighting it would really change the atmosphere of the room as it sounded like a pub. I would go again.

I’ve been waiting to come to this restaurant for so long. My best friend and my sister have recommended it to me on so many occasions. However. After arriving at 830 and having one beer it is 2 hours later and no sign of food. I’ve never experienced a delay like this and I’ve left hungry and bewildered. This is completely unacceptable and has completely ruined my birthday weekend. I don’t write reviews often. But as I walk away from this restaurant I have been compelled to write a negative review so that others can avoid a similar experience. If this is an isolated occurrence I would be happy to return and see if it lives uo to the billing it’s received. For now I am compelled to suggest this is the worst restaurant I’ve visited in 10 years.

Biggest regret !! Never ever go back there even if they pay me to try they food again !! The most disgusting food i have ever taste in my life !! Dont know how they call them self resturant!! Firstly, be aware there isn't that much parking. We got there and the carparl was full, so we had to find somewhere else and then walk. The food was good but expensive, the chicken wings were red in the middle though, so that did concern us, but we didn't get ill, so they must have been alright. The service was good but just a bit slow, it took us over almost an hour to start getting our starters, but once we had those, the rest was fine.

Just went in to look around as have not been since before pandemic. Mainly Persian food which looks nice. A lot more expensive than when we used to go. Lovely room upstairs with stage and sound system for entertainment. Friendly knowledgeable staff.

So, i've been to De La Vies twice, and i'm just sharing my own experience. 1st time: Despite having a reservation, we were left upstairs, with no one working front of house. I had to ask a bartender if our table was ready. He said it would be ready soon. 30 mins elapsed. When we got to the table, the food came out promptly, and the staff were friendly. No more issues. 2nd time: again left upstairs, no one working front of house again, so I asked said bartender if our table was ready. He said yes, so we walked downstairs and stood there, just watching the staff walk by, ignoring us. The restaurant was quiet, and we stood there like fools, just watching people eat. I had to approach one of the staff, who then (with a face like thunder) showed us to our table. We then sat at the table for 15 mins with no menu, no one asking if we wanted drinks, until again i had to get up and ask for a menu. A much nicer and helpful member of staff took our order, and again the food came out promptly and was delicious. It's a real shame that the service is way below the standard it should be, and I was told by another customer who eats there often, that when the owner/managers are in, the standard is way higher, but on both occassions i have been to this restaurant, I have been left so disappointed with the poor level of service, especially when the chef is sending out amazing food. I think it's clear where De La Vies needs to improve, because i'm torn on whether I will ever return. I don't want to chase staff down for the bare basics, such as a drink, finding my table or a menu, and i certainly don't want to seee the staff walking round looking angry and uninterested.

I really appreciate their hospitality. the service and food were perfect. we enjoyed. they had dedicated parking which was awesome. you don't need to worry about your car park. it was my children's birthday, at the end the waitress brought them birthday cake which was very kind. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Without a doubt this is currently my favourite steak house in Birmingham. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable. The staff are very professional, friendly and attentive. The food is all delicious but when it comes to the steaks, all different cuts are out of this world!!! always cooked to perfection and with a delicious grill flavour. All food and drinks are also reasonably priced which makes De las Vies a “must go” restaurant for all meat lovers.

Massively over rated and over priced for a place with only a 3 star food hygiene rating (which i found out after going unfortunately ) steak was probably the worst I've ever had in my life and the attitude of the staff was diabolical when I told them this, not a nice experience at at all.

Having traveled over 4 hours to get to Birmingham to eat at De La Vies I was met with huge disappointment. I had heard so much hype regarding the steak but as you can see from my pictures, there needs to be less tambourine playing and more tomahawk cooking, well I ordered a medium rare but was given overcooked steak. We waited over 2 hours to get my food, I entered the restaurant at 7:30 and am currently still sitting here waiting for my dessert and it is now 10:30

Mi pareja y yo rara vez salimos juntos pero nos encanta cocinar y comer bien. Hemos sido recomendados repetidamente por amigos para tratar y se le dijo que utilizar un vale groupon una y otra vez. Absolutamente sorprendido por todo esta noche y no puedo esperar a volver. La comida, el servicio, las bebidas y el edificio es increíble, pero particularmente Gabriel nos hizo sentir tan relajados y la comida es tan buena como hemos tenido en mucho tiempo. Booked a birthday meal for our 14 y/o son. The food and wine were exceptional. The 16 oz rib eye steak was cooked to perfection and the lamb (Barg) again, perfect. The sides and starters were all top quality. All helped by our attentive waitress, Sinead who looked after us perfectly and took time to help with recommending food and items from the sweet menu. The candle in the tiramisu for his birthday was really thoughtful. Thank you De La Vies for a perfect evening, particularly Sinead. We will definitely be back soon.

The price is 1000% different from their advertisement. According to their advertisement, I went to buy it and it was good, he told me It was an advertisement that we also have Maflan food, so if it was for advertisement, why are you paying the price?

We did our baby shower at De La Vies. Perfect food, service, recommended DJ and photographer/videographer. Our guests loved our party, there were options for our vegetarian, gluten free guests and other dietary requirements were carefully considered. A beautiful evening to remember. Thank you!

Very bad service, takes long to get ur drink without any glasses , delay for everything.

I went to this hotel with my step-son. I got a voucher from a groupon and it was a very nice food. I would think this is the second best steak that I've had in years. The only thing about service is that I had to prompt them for a drink that I had ordered, and when and when I did my dessert you had to prompt. But the tiramisu was big... It was yeah I liked the tiramisu It was really really nice and it was moist so I really did like that.

Amazing Persian restaurant in Smethwick, Birmingham with great atmosphere and approachable staff. The staff were happy to only give us a menu, but to let us create our own items add/remove things we didn't want in our meal. It was so nice to order our own customised meal.

Our 2nd visit here, service, food and drinks all fabulous, initial greeting vey polite and friendly. Seated straightaway, menus brought over and given time to choose from menu. Drinks brought over in good time, food order taken in good time. Food brought out, cooked perfectly and as we ordered. Checked twice to see if everything was ok, which it most definitely was. Ordered steaks, 3 sides, 2 sauces and an extra drink. All perfect. Left feeling happy and not so full we felt ill. No room for dessert, but I don’t order anyway, as I don’t have a sweet tooth.
