The best restaurants serving Italian food in Yorkshire and The Humber

What more can I say than amazing food and service. We went for mother's day lunch and I am a celiac and they was more than helpful changing things on the menu so I could eat it. Telling me what was gluten free and wasn't. Also I'm a very picky eater and I ate everything of all 3 courses I had. They was amazing with my daughter who was only 5 took her to meet the chef and allowed her in the kitchen to roll pizza dough and give her a balloon. The meal was amazing and will definitely be going back again very soon.

Visited with four friends on a Saturday evening. It was very quiet. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. The meals were enjoyable, with the exception of the rib eye steak, which seemed poor quality and was incorrectly cooked. My only real criticism is that, in my opinion, apart from the pizzas, the meals are overpriced for the standard you get.

La pizza Funghi era ligera, crujiente y de una porción generosa. La pasta principal fue la estrella del espectáculo. Pasta fresca con salsa casera de tomate/amatriciana. Bien sazonado y, de nuevo, un tamaño de porción generoso. La pappardelle estaba al dente y aguantaba bien la salsa. El brownie de chocolate estaba caliente, suave y gooey y bien complementado con helado de vainilla. El servicio es relativamente eficiente, aunque tuve que tomar un poco de iniciación con bebidas / factura, etc. Baños limpios y cubiertos sin manchas. Asegúrese de registrar su automóvil si estaciona afuera. Tuve la suerte de darme cuenta de esto sin ayuda, pero el personal te hace consciente de esta necesidad!

Unfortunately did not have a great experience here due to mistakes that could have been avoided, we booked a table for a work celebration there was about 20 of us, we preordered based off the menu online. I had preordered penne marinara from their online menu, as I am from England I understood that this was just a tomato pasta sauce, and there is nothing on their online menu to suggest marinara is seafood, however I received a penne pasta with tomato sauce and seafood. My sister is allergic to seafood and I don’t eat it to keep her safe. I told them I didn’t order seafood penne, he became angry and shouted at me that I did, I asked to see the menu when he showed me, that’s when we all realised their online menu is different to the one in the restaurant, he brought me a menu to say marinara is seafood, but this is not mentioned on the online menu we used when we preordered, and unfortunately being English and not being Italian, marinara in England is just tomato garlic sauce not seafood like it is in Italy, my fault for not knowing marinara means seafood in Italian but the manager or owner who was serving us just began shouting at me. A female waitress apologised and moved him away from me and brought me just a tomato penne pasta said sorry again and understood what had happened and fixed the issue without an issue, clearly a mistake on both parts. After I’d eaten it the angry manager came over and asked me how my seafood pasta was sarcastically. 3 or 4 of us preordered the online menu tomato garlic bread to start, and one of us ordered a tomato garlic bread for their main. But when it arrived in the restaurant it was a plain garlic pizza bread, as their menu in their restaurant is different to the one online and doesn’t include tomato. Also despite pre ordering two of the starters were missing and had to be chased up 10 mins or so after we had all eaten our starters and the same happened again for our mains, two were missing and a side of chips which we had to chase up. We spent about £582 and just didn’t feel we had a good experience despite pre ordering and we even brought our pre order on a document with us to make sure we were organised when we got there. Food was excellent however and we had a good time. Just a shame to be shouted at in a restaurant by the manager at what clearly was a genuine mistake, as I don’t speak Italian.

Un pequeño restaurante lindo con algunos carteles antiguos de Ferrari en las paredes . . . resulta que somos un par de motorheads así que nos encantó la decoración. La camarera era encantadora muy sonriente y servicial. Todos los restaurantes de la zona son bastante caros y Maranello's no es diferente. Mi entrante de burrata era de £ 11 (pero era de primera categoría, claramente no un especial de Aldi) ... la pizza estaba en la región de £ 16. Afortunadamente la comida es decente, buena suculencia italiana tradicional a la antigua. Mi única queja realmente es que la pizza parecía muy pequeña y me acosté un poco hambriento... a pesar de tener postre también... lo cual... sí, lo adivinaste... estaba delicioso. Nunca he pagado tanto por una pizza pequeña... el tamaño de la porción es importante para mí, ya que llevo un estilo de vida muy activo. Iría más seguido si pudiera permitírmelo.

Found a gem at Ingleton North Yorks. La Tavernetta, Italian restaurant. Just awesome!! Food was amazing, Starter of lasagne, layered aubergine and sauce, lovely. Main of lobster pasta in a delicious sauce. Amazing with a cheesy garlic bread .

This was only our second visit after a good experience about 5 years ago. Last night wasn’t as good as we remembered it. The staff we had need some more training, very pleasant young people but we were told our ordered wine was no longer available even though on the menu. We chose another bottle but then was brought a completely different one! The waiter who seemed to be in charge told us the young man was incorrect and our first choice was still available…… too late as it had been opened and tasted. The waitress when clearing our plated dropped a knife on the table, shattering a whole glass of wine and didn’t seem able to organise herself to clear up the mess. Not much of an apology although we didn’t make a fuss about her mistake, another waiter took over , cleared up and provided 2 more glasses of wine. It’s a good job red wine did not stain our dark clothing. The food was tasty and enjoyed by all except the veggie pizza needs some tomato sauce under the veg, it was very dry. Reasonably price and happy the service charge was not added and I was able to leave a smaller tip than probably I would have originally left had the service been better.

Good food good service what more can you ask for? Very busy evening but this didn’t affect the standard of service or the quality of the food. Will definitely be going back.

La comida italiana más deliciosa y auténtica. Tan triste que está cerrado. Espero que se abra pronto. Grandes recuerdos durante unos 7 años con mi esposa e hijo. Este restaurante será muy extrañado, pero permanecerá en mis recuerdos para siempre.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here. The garlic bread starter was very good. It was freshly made, and the herbs were so good. I had chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce, which was very tasty. My husband enjoyed spaghetti carbonara, and my daughter chose chicken Diavola. All were fantastic. We would definitely recommend this restaurant. The restaurant is dog friendly, which was another bonus.

Booked for my wife's 40th Birthday meal for a group of 10 people as it has been our fav restaurant for a number of years. We turned up and the restaurant was closed. Fuming is an understatement. Luckily the restaurant (Aegean) across the road cut fit us in and saved the night with a nice meal. Massively disappointing that what was a very good restaurant is now being run like this and has put a stain on the night.

Absolutamente impactante lo mucho que la habitación olía a humo... nos hizo sentir enfermos. Mis compañeras embarazadas así que tuvimos que irnos. Claramente el humo de los chefs en el patio hacia atrás se dirigió directamente al restaurante.

Excellent meal, 3 of us 3 completely different meal, not a single complaint. Extremely good value for money, lovely host couldn't have been nicer. Thank you. Next we're up in Sheffield we'll definitely pop in again

I’ve passed this place many times and always fancied giving it a try. I wish I had sooner- it’s an absolute gem. The atmosphere is very authentic ands the food is divine. I had prawns in Marie Rose sauce with avocado followed by the most delicious lamb canneloni. All our meals were lovely and the service was excellent too. Great value for money too. I’ll be back!
