The best restaurants serving Italian food in Yorkshire and The Humber

Passing through Mirfield on the navigation on a Saturday, couldn't be bothered to cook so sought out something a little more upmarket than the pub's burgers. This restaurant is around 3/4 mile out of town and at first sight situated in a less than ideal location, next to an industrial/trading estate. But once through the doors, a warm welcome - the proprietor juggled tables to make room for the three of us (around 1800) on what was otherwise a fully booked evening. We all opted for the salmon special on a bed of spinach, veg or salad side dish included at £19.50. Fish precisely cooked - big tick! The usual range of Italian puddings, and none the worse for that as they were very well done. Went off-piste with the wine, a NZ sauvignon blanc (at £28), in order to get a drier mouthful than the house white. So, around £108, before tip, for the three of us - acceptable for food and wine of this standard. Would return (with a booking!) if in the area again.

The best brush we have been to and we have been to a few. Beth was a brilliant host. Never without a drink. We shall be back xxxxxxxxx

Overpriced for what you get. I ordered the Dahl which was about £14 so I expected a substantial meal. It came with two quarters of a pitta, no rice, no salad just the topping. It did taste nice but I feel it should have been priced similar to a soup as it was just a bowl of Dahl and two small pitta slices. My husband had the hummus bowl which again was nice but the two meals, two diet cokes and a coffee came to £38.30. I ended up eating again as I just didn’t feel full. It was such a shame as the location and building are stunning and service was quick, I just don’t feel it was value for money at all.

We popped in for a quick lunch break on Wednesday. Service very attentive, fast and lovely. Good pizzas, great value; only negative thing is the short menù... too short for me

No lo han sido durante veinte años. La comida sigue siendo absolutamente brillante. Sardinas seguidas de pan de ajo y lasaña de queso y una ensalada más una gran botella de vino. Qué noche fantástica. No esperaré 20 años para ir de nuevo.

There was eleven of us we all ordered different items from the menu and all the food arrived hot and well presented and enjoyable the atmosphere was nice reasonable priced worth going again

La comida era absolutamente excepcional — cada plato era fresco, sabroso y bellamente presentado. Realmente se puede saborear la calidad de los ingredientes. El servicio fue igual de impresionante. El personal era amable, atento, y me hizo sentir realmente bienvenido. Estaban encantados de ofrecer recomendaciones y se aseguraron de que todo fuera perfecto durante toda la comida. En general, La Bottega superó mis expectativas en todos los sentidos. Si estás en York y buscas comida deliciosa, buen servicio y un ambiente acogedor, ¡este es el lugar para ir! Muy recomendable!

Friendly place, friendly people, clean and tidy. Lovely food and excellent coffee. Coffee could do with being a little hotter if I had to find a suggestion.

This understated little gem of a restaurant consistently turns out delicious food. The service is brilliant and we will be back.

My friends and I all had a delicious lunch. I chose the jacket potato with cajun toasted peppers, jackfuit and hummus and the flavours were amazing. Good value compared to similar places in town, staff are friendly and helpful and there is a nice atmosphere. The ice creams look delicious so we will be back in Summer to try them.

Enjoyed a late afternoon lunch and drinks in this contemporary Italian Restaurant while we were visiting Richmond. The food was excellent with generous portions. Service was great. A lovely restaurant to enjoy a meal. By chance we happened to be there for the 'Happy Hour' with some excellent deals for the early diners. Will definately return....

Great tasting wood fired Pizza! Relaxed atmosphere, reasonable price. Daniele the manager has excellent customer service skills and will do everything to make sure the customer is 100% happy. Our favourite pizza place.

Brilliant service, the staff were very attentive and provided brilliant complimentary food. The food was perfect! Would recommend for a great dining experience and really high quality food. We were a table of 11 and had no complaints.
