Bella Donna Sicilian Restaurant in Sheffield

Enjoyed a lovely meal here with my daughter the calamari was delicious, and the Divalo and Fruit de La Mer Pizzas were fantastic, great watching the chefs making them and tossing the dough. The waitress was brilliant a real hard worker, I’d say she needed a little assistance, but she wasn’t phased by running around laying and clearing tables, taking orders and keeping a smile on her face. A real credit to the restaurant.

We went there for dinner while we went to visit Sheffield. The food was so good, yummy seafood dishes and big tasty pizza. We had a fantastic time there. The staffs very nice and welcome even the restaurant was very busy. When we there had 2 big groups party but we still got very good service from them. We love our seafood dishes alot and we will go back there again

Had a late lunch here with my wife and two friends over from Manchester.Have been before and we were not disappointed The food was excellent - especially the special which was really good Very good value for money ,great service and atmosphere - we will be back

We were staying in a nearby hotel and expecting to eat there, but the chef was ill. We were initially disappointed but having discovered this restaurant, we were glad we had! It is a cosy atmosphere with friendly staff, and the food was just delicious. I had the arancini to strart, really tasty. My husband had the salmon carpaccio that was on special and that was great too. For main my husband had sea bass, beautifully cooked. I had tagliatelle and ragu - again, so tasty and good sized portions. We went for desserts too, there was a lemon roulade that was so light and refreshing, and came with a cheeky shot of limoncello. As well as good food, it felt like a safe place to eat, everybody abiding by the rules. Definitely worth a visit!

Ordered the lockdown takeaway - 2 courses for £8.50. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal - really generous portions, piping hot, packed full of flavour. If this is how every meal is like then they should be very very busy. Best takeaway for years. Thankyou

I visited Bella Donna with my wife, daughter and son-in-law for a birthday meal on Thursday night. It was the first time that any of us had been there. We took two bottles of our own wine. Corkage was £4 per bottle. The delay between ordering food and its arrival at our table was very acceptable. Of course, in some restaurants severe frustration kicks in if anything more than half an hour passes by but that was not the case at Bella Donna. Efficient service. The quality of the food was really good and authentic too. Three of our little party had pasta dishes and they agreed their pasta bowls were very tasty. I had a steak meal with side vegetables and this was also delightful. Frustratingly, Bella Donna does not seem to have a proper website - just a Facebook page. Consequently, we were unable to check out the menu ahead of our visit. My daughter and son-in-law felt that the general "ambience" of the restaurant could have been more pleasant but perhaps some of that feeling was down to COVID-19 arrangements. We all agreed that it had been a great meal and felt that the £100 bill was worth it as we had all enjoyed tasty starters, main meals and desserts. Thank you Bella Donna!

We have used this restaurant many times before and have always been happy. Until last night we have never had our table time-limited. I guess due to new regs they are now doing this, but it would have been nice to have been told when we booked or when we arrived. The food was good as usual (although the seafood risotto had a few small bits of shell floating around in it so watch your teeth). We ordered sweets and a coffee for me. The sweets arrived but not the coffee. We asked them again, and the coffee arrived 15 minutes later. While I was drinking (and we still had some wine left) my husband paid the bill. The waitress then came over and told us we had to leave as someone else was waiting to use the table. I had to leave the rest of my wine and coffee (which was too hot to bolt down) so was a bit annoyed. It seemed that as soon as they had our money they wanted us out.

Fabulous little Sicilian restaurant found, (been twice in 2 days it’s that good) I highly recommend, the owners are amazing and very welcoming, the food is to die for, anyone who wants to try really nice and healthy Italian food this is the place to be! Will definit

The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. We were well looked after by pleasant staff, the food was cooked to perfection. We will definitely return and would certainly recommend .

We went here following a look at the menu when we visited the delicatessen next door, it looked interesting so decided once restaurants were back open we'd give it a try. Everything was perfect, a great friendly welcome, fantastic atmosphere and unique food. Also a massive bonus is being able to take your own wine (£4 Corkage). Can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes on the menu.

Always a warm welcome and fantastic food here. The seafood dishes are particularly nice and very authentic. You can even take your own wine!(£4 corkage charge.

4 of us went back to Bella Donna last week. We had a most enjoyable meal and took our own wine. The staff were very helpful and cheerful which added to the good experience. If you have not been, then try it and see. You will be sure of an enjoyable evening.

We visited here based on the good reviews and an interesting sounding menu that was a little bit different to your run of the mill Italian restaurants. Unfortunately the food and service were appalling, with the food being some of the worst I have ever eaten, this is saying something as if you read some of my past reviews I've eaten some truly poor food. We arrived at the restaurant which was full which is a good sign for January and our table was pointed out. There was no real welcome we were just seated. We sat for a while and the menus were brought and again it was all a bit cold with no personal touch. We decided to have the Sicilian street food starter and the baked aubergine and asked for some bread. The starters took almost 40 minutes to arrive and although the restaurant was full most people had already eaten. The couple next to us had managed to finish their main courses, have the plates cleared away, ask for dessert menus, choose, have these made, eat them and then ask for the bill and pay before we received our starters. What made it worse is the staff seemed oblivious to this as they sat and drank and chatted at the bar with some friends of theirs. When the starters finally arrived to be fair to them the baked aubergine was good, although it contained a lot sultanans and was a bit oily but the flavour was good. The Sicilian street food was a plate of deep fried blandness. There was no seasoning or any real flavour just deep fried stodge with all the elements being a variation on the previous. The bread was ok until we got the bill and realised it was £3.50 for a few small slices or bread which did not represent good value. The main courses took what seemed to be another eternity to arrive by which time the restaurant was starting to empty out. I don't mind waiting for food especially when it is freshly prepared but what arrived was an abomination. The prawn pasta my wife ordered was the best of a bad bunch. It consisted of 3 prawns, yes just 3. Not massive prawns just 3 small prawns, chunks of raw garlic and some small bits our courgette. At £12.50 this was not good at all and you would get better pasta at a service station. The true jewel in the crown was the Sicilian mixed grill. How this was ever allowed to leave the kitchen is an absolute disgrace. Clearly anyone with any pride in what they do or any level of quality control would not have let this be served. It consisted of 2 of the smallest sausages that managed to be dry, rock hard and pink in the centre all at the same time, the lacked any flavour and were totally inedible. The chicken escalope that had been shallow fried was burnt and unsurprisingly tasted of bitter, acrid burnt breadcrumbs. Even the bits that didn't appear burnt tasted like it was due to the pan or oil they had used. The other element which I'm still not sure what it was had also been shallow fried and was burnt, really burnt and tasted like it was. It was served with fried mushrooms, peppers and shallots, the shallots were raw and would have taken a steak knife to cut them. It was also served with some sorry looking soggy greasy fries that again had no flavour. Trying to get the bill was another herculean effort and the waiter that saw we had finished and had cleared or plates was oblivious to our attempts at getting his attention. When we got the bill I placed my card down straight away before the waiter left in the hope we could pay and leave but it took another 10 minutes to get the card machine. As all the staff were sat drinking at the bar they they didn't seem interested in the customers left in the restaurant. The best bit of the meal was the wine which we brought ourselves but even that was tainted by the poor food and service. There an infinite amount of better places to spend your money in Sheffield, even chain Italians would be better than this.
