Proove in Sheffield

Lovely place. Have been living in Sheffield for 7 years now and prove has been my go to pizza throughout. This evening, especially, the service was incredible from Danny and the food is as good as ever

This place is great! Would highly recommend. We came here for lunch and for 11.90 you could have a large pizza, side and drink. Great food.

Came here with a friend in January, and asked for the Vegan menu. There were a good amount of Vegan Pizza choices (About 7) starters & desserts. I had the Vegan Fungi pizza which was really tasty, some dough balls & a vegan cheesecake, which was top! 🍰 My friend also really enjoyed her (non-vegan) food. Thank you!

I was staying with my wife whilst she was in Jessops hospital and needed to get something to eat for dinner. Proove popped up after a Google maps search. The maps page said I could order online via the website but I couldn't find a page to do it so I ended up calling and ordering (at 18:00). I went for a calzone and they said it would be ready in 5-10 minutes time for collection. It was ready on time and there was very little wait to collect and pay. The pizza retained its heat in the box during the 10 minute walk in -1 degrees air. The calzone was a good size, a decent amount of topping/filling, very tasty and not too greasy. I was really impressed with everything about the service and the food, definitely recommend.

We recently hired Proove for our end of year conference, and the experience was exceptional. Proove provided a diverse selection of delicious pizzas, all reasonably priced. The service from their staff was outstanding, contributing significantly to the success of our event. We highly recommend Proove for both large and small gatherings. La pizza è davvero buona, direi proprio che è come quella che si può mangiare nelle pizzerie napoletane in Italia. Abbiamo preso 2 margherite, due pinte di birra e due dolci; in generale tutto buono al prezzo di circa 40 sterline. Consigliato.

We ordered pizza from Proove on Christmas Eve, which we needed to collect late in the evening because of our complicated lives. They were really positive and helpful, and stayed in touch throughout the afternoon. When we turned up and the pizza wasn’t quite ready, they gave us some complimentary doughballs and were really nice and chatty. So excellent service - and the fact that the pizzas were also delicious was an added bonus. Thanks to all, and best wishes for the new year!

Isabella, Danny, and Becca gave us some fantastic service during our large end of year meal. They were professional, efficient and most of all friendly. Thank you guys so much for your service and making our night so special !!!

The pizza bases are too thin… pancake thin is not acceptable. A true Italian pizza is not soggy and does not flop. Really bad and cold pizza- BROOMHILL SHEFFIELD

Good stuff! Don't like the sneaky service charge on the bill though. I asked to have it taken off and they got really snotty about it.

Went to Proove restaurant Broomhill last night was the worse pizza I've ever had was soggy and under cooked waited ages for it was told only one oven we had placed our order in advance. Ordered 3 coffee's waited once again only to be told only got one coffee machine why book parties in if they can't cope won't be going back or recommending it to any one felt sorry for the waitress as situation out of her control

Have to say I was a bit underwhelmed with the pizza here :/ I enjoyed the texture and variety of the toppings but expected more flavour from the dough? Also the portion size was smaller than expected for it to be a good value

Ordered three pizzas and the Americana and melanzane and quite frankly the food and service were excellent. Jessica was everything we expect in service. Thank you so much for a memorable evening.

Horrendous. Ordered two “pizzas” and garlic a bread. Somehow came to £40. The pizzas didn’t even cheese on them, but did however both have garlic on them. Tried to call the restaurant multiple times to query my strange tomato based garlic bread, and was hung up on. Slightly concerning that a “pizzeria” can’t make a pizza Reply Thanks for you response. I shall educate my good lady (who ordered the snap) on the difference and indeed dangers between ordering a “Marinara” and a “Margarita” pizza. With the above known, I’ve updated my review. Although it’s only a three star due to fact there was garlic on both pizzas. We ordered pepperoni on one, and pepperoni, olives, and garlic on the other (I believe). We did manage to receive a refund from Uber eats, who are also clearly not familiar with pizza heritage! I may order again and sample a different pizza, and therefore some of your finest cheese.

Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Our waitress forgot to put in our food order, so our meals arrived much later than expected. While we weren’t too bothered by the delay, as these things can happen, two of the pizzas were supposed to come with rocket but arrived without it. When we asked the waitress about this, she simply said, “Sorry, we don’t have any.” Since the rocket was meant to be a key feature of the pizzas, we were very disappointed, and we felt we should have been informed about the lack of rocket before we placed our order. In the end, it was an underwhelming experience.

Been to Proove a lot over the last few years and still think it’s the best Italian pizza in Sheffield. Service has always been top notch for me with really pleasant staff.

We were extremely disappointed with our recent experience at Proove at Broomhill. We had a table booked for 7:30 pm on Friday night for a group of nine, but the service was shockingly slow from the very beginning. After arriving and placing our orders, it took until 8:30 pm—an entire hour after we’d been seated—just for a simple bowl of olives to arrive. Our starters came 15 minutes later, and by 9 pm, we were still waiting for our pizzas. When we asked about them, we were assured they’d be ready soon, but the first pizza didn’t arrive until 9:40 pm, with the others following in a staggered manner. The last person didn’t receive theirs until nearly 9:55 pm. Although the pizzas were fine, this delay was completely unacceptable, especially since it felt like takeaway orders were being prioritised over people dining in. As a large group, we felt stuck, reluctant to leave mid-meal knowing it would be difficult to find seating elsewhere at that time. When we asked for some form of compensation for the delays, we were initially refused, and only after further pressing were we offered a single complimentary drink to share among nine people. We were then offered a dessert menu, but with closing time approaching, we had no time to order or enjoy it. Adding to our frustration, the staff informed us at 10:25 pm that they’d be closing in five minutes, rushing us out after making us wait so long. To make matters worse, the next day we discovered one person had been overcharged, requiring them to go back to the restaurant to fix it. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing and disrupted our plans for the evening. We would not recommend this restaurant based on the service we received.

Dough base nice, very light on the toppings, even the tomato base barely covered the dough, very thin. My wife had a 'salad' side which was basically a few leaves of greenery and half a sliced tomato in a ramekin with some dressing, not really a salad. Staff were great, very attentive and cheerful. Setting is nice, bit annoying with delivery drivers constantly coming in thru the front door and just standing around whilst customers are sitting eating or holding the door open so it starts getting a bit chilly. So overall not bad but not somewhere I'll rush back to.

Was looking forward to trying proove but was sadly disappointed. Hardly any toppings and overpriced. Few ingredients were even missing. Shame

Excellent option to have lunch in the heart of Sheffield. The food and the atmosphere were simply fantastic, the staff was very kind and attentive to all the customers there. The margarita pizza was delicious, 100% recommeded!

I’ve been here a few times and normally can’t recommend it more but had a disappointing experience tonight. It took nearly 40 minutes for us just to get our drinks and we had to ask for cutlery when our pizzas arrived. It was quite disappointing as it was supposed to be a celebration and we had prebooked a table.

I’ve wanted to try Proove for a while. Sadly, we found the experience disappointing. Despite the restaurant being far from full it took 25 mins to get a drink. The poor waitress was rushed off her feet serving the endless stream of Deliveroo drivers. Food was average. The worst Tiramisu that I’ve eaten. £65 for 3 pizzas, 3 drinks and 2 desserts. Pizza Express beats the quality of food, price and ambience. Sad times when a chain restaurant offers a better product.

Definitely the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life in Sheffield in 3 years. Friendly staff. A bit noisy though as a busy place. Difficult to hear what each other are talking about lol

Great pizzeria in the heart of Broomhill serving the most authentic Neapolitan pizza this side of Naples. Service is always first class.

The food took well over an hour to arrive. When the food did arrive the order was wrong with meat on the vegetarian pizza. The situation was handled poorly. We were ignored, not offered drinks and no apology or explanation was offered for the extremely slow service.

2 visits in the last 3 week and that's it,no more Went on the recommendation of friends Food is ok to be fair when they have all the ingredients....could not have any starter which had mozzarella in it In my opinion the service is the problem,it's catered for the student population in the area We waited an age for drinks while 3 staff chatted at the till Food was all slapped on the table at the same time...starter's and mains...the small table couldn't cope

Poor service cold pizza. Overpriced mediocre at best.

Been here before and it was good. But not this time. Fresher's week impact? Ordered 2 pizzas, a garlic bread, and a garlic bread with cheese. With the two garlic breads cut up and put in the same box, we could barely tell which was which. Three of us peering into the box trying to guess which was the cheese one, there was so little cheese you couldn't tell. On the pizza, the tomato sauce had no taste, utterly tasteless. No flavour at all. The calzone pizza was OK, it had the ham to bring some flavour through, but it also came with a flavourless red dip. When we finished, someone (not me) said "well that wasn't great, was it". It was like having bread for dinner.

Last review (4 years ago) Proove Broomhill was 5 stars. Today was poor. Below standard pizza with sparing amounts of sauce and toppings. Sides arrived half way through the pizza. Not the great experience we had in the past or most recently in the city centre restaurant, which was great.

Quick midweek lunch so not very busy. Great service and excellent food.

Ordered pizzas and garlic bread for delivery via Deliveroo took 2 hours to arrive! It was cold total waste of money. Spoke to the restaurant they said they had been busy. 2 hours to cook and deliver not acceptable. Won’t be ordering again!

Had a pizza calzone here. The dough was nice, but then I found slices of red onion inside. Pizza with onion is my personal red flag because it overpowers all the other flavors, so you could use any subpar ingredients and the customer wouldn’t notice. Sure, you might say, 'It's your fault for not checking the ingredients on the menu!' and you'd be right. But I just wasn't expecting this betrayal. Definitely won't be going back there.

The worst dough of any Pizza I've ever eaten. Avoid like the plague. Edit: This pitiful excuse for a pizzeria is now masquerading as "Lower East Side" on Deliveroo. They tricked me into thinking it was a new place, but alas, the nightmare continues. The food has NOT improved in the slightest—in fact, it might have actually gotten worse. The dough is still as dreadful as ever, the sauce tastes like it came straight out of a can, and the toppings are as bland as boiled water. I wouldn't feed this to my worst enemy. Save yourself the agony and steer clear of this culinary catastrophe.

Ordered meal deals (I think that’s what they’re called here?) here for the family and enjoyed them, especially the dough bites. Although quite pricey, what you get is absolutely worth it.

Extremely disappointing having not been here for 5 years. Travelled 1 hour for a family meal. To be faced with an uncooked pizza, bland and after asking for it to be cooked further returned to the table the same. Customer service was very poor and not phased by the fact I was not happy. Don’t bother going here it’s horrendous.

The pizzas were amazing as always but we were the only table in on arrival and although 6 of us ordered together, 3 pizzas arrived at one time, 2 about 5 minutes later and mine was nearly 10 mins after the first ones were brought out so my friends had nearly done when I was starting to eat.

Brilliant service - friendly and welcoming. Calzone ravishing (happy to meet specific requirements). Enjoy every mouthful. Highly recommended. Very good value for money.

We visited on a Monday lunchtime and arrived just after 12pm. We were greeted by a really friendly and welcoming member of the front of house team. She was excellent and made sure we were happy with our table location. We ordered two starters, two drinks and two pizzas. Everything was great, amazing flavours, great quality dough, fresh flavours and fantastic all round. We will visit again soon.

Lovely tasting pizzas with vegan options. On a Saturday it would be best to book ahead, even for lunch.

Sadly, a really poor experience. Dinners were sidelined for deliveries. We waited almost an hour for our pizzas. Tbh I should have walked outside ordered via Deliveroo and I'd have got my pizza quicker. The pizza, when it arrived was soggy, the water glasses were dirty and the staff inexperienced. Definitely won't be returning.

One of the best pizza spots in Sheffield. Amazing fresh flavours on a perfect thin base every time dining in or taking out, at a great price. Good veggie options and a range of drinks. Good service and you can see your pizza being made sitting at the back. Don’t miss out if you’re in Broomhill!

This is a wonderful restaurant in Broomhill. The service was fantastic—our server was kind, attentive and friendly. The staff were great with the kids, too. We had a mixture of vegan and gluten-free options. All were great. The gluten-free doughs were just as good as the regular dough. The children liked the kids’ menu, particularly the vegan vanilla ice cream! We had a 10% discount for signing up to their app. Thank you ☺️

Ate at the Proove in city centre and was very disappointed that they have no vegetarian cheese as standard, their mozzarella is not suitable for vegetarians. The only pizza option I had was with vegan cheese or with no cheese. Vegan cheese has a very specific taste that I don't enjoy. Extremely limited menu options for vegetarians so would not recommend this as a place to eat if you are vegetarian, very disappointing and surprising for a pizza restaurant. Service was great, poor rating is purely based on terrible vegetarian options.

Dreadful service from waitresses, one in particular looked like she really did not want to be here! One of our party of four had to wait both for his starter and main both of which arrived 5 minutes after the three of us had received ours. No apology for the delay at all. Given the huge number of eating places in that area they need to train staff on how to treat customers who pay their wages. Such a shame as the food was good when it arrived.

We order tonight and the food was cold, they didn't give us the drinks! For pizza dolce they give us the ingredients separate.Dough bites with no sauce, just dry......I am very disappointed!!!!!

We had takeaway pizzas from here last week and they were excellent. Freshly baked in a wood fired oven, lovely base and very tasty.

Nice pizza but waited ages to get it with no apology. When the food arrived it was staggered so we were all eating at different times. A simple apology would have put it right but absolutely nothing from the waitresses who we had to call over every time we needed serving. Nothing deducted from the bill and they still added service charge!

Great Italian restaurant in the centre of Sheffield. Great food and a great and friendly service. The restaurant is modern yet cozy and there’s also an opportunity to sit outside.The restaurant has an open kitchen so you can see how your pizza is made .

Great pizzas. Friendly staff. Not overly expensive. Restaurant on two floors. They just need to lose the cardboard boxes piled up at the corner of the downstairs bar. Spoils slightly what would be an attractive area. On a revisit this has improved. The pizzas are an impressive size.

Never disappoints. Food is fresh and very tasty. Good choice of drinks, friendly and attentive service. Have been with kids in the afternoon and fiends at night. Always a treat.

Food was ok, had the Calzone but the cheese could have been more melted. Also, remove the service charge. Pay your staff properly and put it on the food. We’re not America. It’s tough enough to eat out at the moment without paying over for ‘service’ for someone who could very well be on more money than your customers.

Loved everything, except the vegan cheese. I'm vegetarian, and love dairy cheese. The problem is that their normal cheese isn't vegetarian. The vegan cheese was not so great, but otherwise I can't fault anything whatsoever! Would I go back? If the cheese was vegetarian.

Came in for lunch and ordered pizzas and hot drinks. Food was absolutely delicious but I had to ask for a clean cup as it was full of dust. The waitress tried to tell me it was just scratched but did bring me a clean one. They also got my order wrong and had to remake it. After this we did not complain but did not wish to pay the service charge. We told the waitress this but she still presented us with the card machine with their suggested tip included. After we asked a second time for it to he removed it was however the staff were very rude about it.

Came late on Monday night. Food arrived quickly after ordering. Probably the best calzone I’ve had. Pizzas looked amazing as well. Homemade sauces were great. Really pleasant experience. Will definitely be coming back.

We had one bad experience with proove, however due to their fantastic customer service we returned and had a lovely dinner in the restaurant - pizzas came out quickly and service was good.

Great freshly made pizzas, simple salads and great, prompt service. Just what we needed after a long drive to Sheffield.

Unbelievably bland too expensive considering how flavorless. Balsamic vinegar was off the lowest quality too.

The food is amazing! We had bruschetta, pizza and cheesecake! The cheesecake was the creamiest cheesecake I've ever had, it was delicious. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and always had a smile. The restaurant itself was warm and cozy. Lovely decor and relaxing atmosphere.
