The best restaurants serving Italian food in South West

Had an amazing meal here last night – it honestly felt like being in Italy for the evening. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, with that lovely mix of chatter, birthday celebrations, and a real buzz in the air. The food was excellent – properly authentic Italian dishes with loads of flavour and very generous portions. You can tell everything is made with quality fresh ingredients. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the UK in a long time. Great food, great vibe, great service. Can’t wait to go back!

Felt rushed and forgotten about. Came here with my partner on a Saturday for an evening meal. Arrived around 5:50ish and asked for a table of 2 (didn't book but did look online and there was no way to book online nor did it say we had to phone up to book) Were given a table for 2 but were told they would need the table back at 7. Absolutely fine. Went to order food and saw on the menu that they only accept cash (again doesn't clearly state on the website that this is the case) but were informed by the waitress that there was a cash point next door. Ordered 2 pizzas and 2 drinks. Food came out very promptly but our drinks were forgotten about (only 2 cans of soft drink as they don't sell alcohol) so had to ask for them again. Pizzas were tasty but not warm all the way through (they seemed as though they had been rushed as to get us out the restaurant). Would of told a waitress but we weren't asked how our food was. The main downside of the evening was a very loud and obnoxious table behind us of over 10 people who were all talking and screeching during the meal who not only disturbed us but also the table next to us who also were commenting on how loud they are. I couldn't even hear my partner who was leaning over the table talking to me. I know this isn't they restaurants fault at all but the space inside is very tiny for such a large table. Overall it was an okay visit with decent food but unsure if we would visit again as the whole visit felt rushed. We were out the door by 6:30. Which is a real shame as had read so many amazing reviews of this place. Perhaps it was just a bad day for them idk.

We had a lovely meal at Don Giovanni’s on Tuesday 6th, and I just wanted to say an especial thanks to our lovely waitress, who was studying performing arts at UWE. We were in a mad rush, having come straight from an event and with a train in 50 minutes, and she made it all work brilliantly - took our orders instantly, the food arrived in a flash, and was all fantastic. Thank you so much, and please do pass on our especial appreciation to the lovely waitress with brown curly hair who is studying at UWE!

Amazing little spot, great food and the staff were brilliant.

We have eaten here a few times over the years when visiting relatives in the area. They are now about to move and from previous experience, we chose La Lupa to have one of our last meals in Poole. While the advertised opening hours were quite late, like many restaurants these days La Lupa would appear to have taken most of their covers earlier, and we arrived as most people were finishing their meals. We hadn't booked, but we were warmly welcomed and our lovely waiter cheerfully took our order. Although we only had a main course, we were the last to leave. While we were finishing our food the staff were sitting chatting at a table in the restaurant. In no way did we feel under pressure to pay and go so they could close for the night. My husband and I both chose from the Classic Menu - Risotto con funghi and Risotto con gamberi e zucchine and our meals were cooked to perfection. I often think that with food of this nature the amount in the bowl isn't going to sate my appetite, but this was definitely not the case at La Lupa. Both meals were plentiful and tasty. Thoroughly recommended and probably advisable to book.

Fantastic little restaurant. Food is always fresh with top tier service. Absolutely love this place for a dinner date, family gathering or work meal. Something for everyone of all ages.

Me equivoqué de pedido, así que una pizza vino mucho después. Como lo habían apurado el queso apenas estaba derretido y no era bueno. Pizza insípida. No es bueno. El personal era muy amable.

Absolutely amazing dining experience. All the staff were so friendly and professional. Food was delivered quickly and was delicious. Large portions at a very reasonable price. This has to be the best Italian restaurant around. Loved it. We'll be back again soon.
