The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

We came here as a party of 9 for birthday. I’m glad I had a jumper on, this restaurant is cold! Food was nice, waitresses were lovely, but was too cold for me.

Terrible comida y mal servicio. La peor comida en 3 semanas en Reino Unido. Esta solía ser una de nuestras visitas a lugares en Londres, pero la calidad de la comida es terrible ahora. El servicio era casi inexistente y, para colmo, añaden una tasa de servicio del 15 %. Nunca volveré a comer en este lugar de nuevo y absolutamente no recomendaría a nadie.

Have been to sambuca 1 many times since 2020 I usually have calzone pizza and my partner lasagne.my pizza was fine. But my partners lasagne came its usually steaming hot .but this time not bubbling but overflowing with tomato sauce but on delving in my partner was very dissatisfied four lairs of pasta like I said overflowed with sauce but very little mince .she was looking forward to her lasagna as its been a while . it is normally red-hot full of mince and flavour but not this time another thing we witnessed 2 different staff one of whom the big lad as going round clearing up spent to much time chatting to others diners about 10-15mins. Instead of serving other diners there have been 2 changes in staff since 2020 the latest additions not very attentive .

I visited as a family of 6. For a place like Frankie and Benny's you don't expect to get fine dining quality food, which I feel some people expect. I was expecting decent food that costs what I pay for it and that's what I got.I ordered the Garlic mushrooms on bruschetta for starter and a penne arrabiata for main with a side of Garlic Pizza bread. The starter was very good, very tasty and good level of seasoning. The main was quite simple, spicy enough, could maybe have done with more seasoning. The garlic pizza bread side was a little undercooked and doughy but nonetheless it was enjoyed by my party. I got Tiramisu for dessert which was plentiful and rich. Though our waitress was incredibly polite and attentive, one thing I did find odd was that my 21 year-old brother did get Id'd by the waitress for a beer, despite there being his 2 older parents next to him. I believe it isn't illegal for a person of 16 or older to have a drink with a meal as long as they are accompanied by someone 18 or older so when this happened I was a little confused.We used the 33% off voucher code which nicely took £20 off of our bill. When you truly took into perspective what youre paying for in terms of food quality and service it adds up, I will definitely visit again with my family.

Quick, tasty, decently priced and served with a smile! I don’t ask for much - but Frankie & Bennys, Lincoln tick every box and pass with flying colours. Ok - the food isn’t sensational, but for what it is, it does superbly. Free refills on coffee and tea which you barely have to ask for as our waiter took care of us enough to ask when our cups looked empty. Perhaps the overly generous score is to combat the harsh reviews below - this is not a bad place to eat! And I come here enough to know that. I have the three egg omelette with different fillings each time to try them out!

Brilliant family meal, great service, great value, a well established Teesside institution! The happy hour meal deal is great value for families and portions are huge!

We celebrated my daughter birthday with this guys and the reality was way beyond expectations, the girls where engaged from the beginning to the end they had so much fun making their own pizzas and the staff was always so kind and patient even knowing that we started the party late. They managed every single detail with care from allergies to little demands, and for me the most important bit was that we were never felt rushed through the 2 hrs slot, all run spotless. In the end we had 12 young happy little girls. Highly recommend, thank you team for such good experience

Plenty to choose from in flavours

This was my first trip to Ambleside and it was just me and my dog. I knew Luigi’s was dog friendly. I had not reserved a table but they accommodated me no problem. The ladies that served me were amazing and the food was gorgeous. Would highly recommend. The open fire downstairs was a lovely bonus. Will be coming back, thank you Luigi’s

Thank you italian farmhouse managers and staff. What an outstanding service I have had. I hired italian farmhouse for my daughters birthday and from start to finish the service I received was amazing. I was unsure of what I wanted and kept swapping and changing my mind not once was I made to feel this was an issue,I just in the end decided I wanted something basic and simple like sausage rolls, wedges, sandwiches. I got this with the fun element for kids making their own pizza! They loved it and went down a treat! I have a niece who I didnt inform had a nut allergy ( my bad ) they were prepared to clean all surfaces allow us to check ingredients and make something for her but understandably said whilst they would do their best they couldn't guarantee so we declined and they allowed us to order in a pizza, this obviously is someones business but I feel to do this they want more than just money they want to give and make customers feel valued and welcome I was so impressed. Staff constantly checked everything was ok, constantly asked if anything else was needed they were prompt in bringing out food and keeping the area clean and tidy, nothing at all seemed to be a bother to them. I also had a courtesy call making sure all had went ok as I'd changed my mind that many times. Thank you so much italian farmhouse for an amazing memory for my little girl. We will most definitely be becoming regulars!

We visited the restaurant a few weeks ago, and the manager, Sean, recommended few places to visit in Wallasey. We came back today for lunch and the food was delicious, and very friendly staff.

Bizarre customer service... We enjoyed excellent meals at Portofino New Brighton, over several months, but on this occasion we have have been put off from going there again. On the plus side, the food quality is normally excellent , and on most visits staff were attentive and helpful, but one of the young Italian waiters is unfortunately not good at English, and this impacts on service; he often has to refer questions to his manager, because he doesn't understand them. He doesn't even understand some basic restaurant terms, such as 'gluten' On this latest occasion though, it was the manager who took our food orders; his English is good, but the Sea Bass my partner ordered, came with a completely unrecognisable sauce, not one described on the menu. She also suspected that the sea bass was mackerel (or another different fish). When my partner questioned him, he was adamant that it was sea bass, but bizarrely said that "we sometimes change the sauces". Er, no....I thought, restaurants do not "change sauces" without discussion with the customer. The manager also offered to go to the kitchen to discuss the matter with the chef and he would " come back shortly" But he didn't return. At all, ever..... He hadn't left the restaurant because we saw him chatting to other customers at the bar, on our way out. At the same sitting, I was given Ravioli in a rather sickly cream sauce, instead of the Canneloni dish which I had ordered. I didn't complain because we had already questioned my partners dish, so I just eat the meal, which I didn't enjoy. So this restaurant has lost 2 regular customers due to what appeared to be odd, bizarre behaviour by the manager. I notice that Portofino, New Brighton, don't respond to any of these reviews; They obviously don't care, not interested. They should be . If you go there, be careful that the staff have properly understood your order, and reject it if it isn't exactly what you ordered , is my advice.

This is now Verona. I loved every mouthful. The cocktails are awesome. Definitely going back.

Well where do I start.Everything apart from service was very disappointing.The food was tasteless. Literally no flavours whatsoever…I have never had such a bland food…This has to be addressed….Service was very good and welcoming but food spoiled entire experience ….That’s a huge shame….Please - owners - speak with your chefs….

I honestly dont know why this place is quiet, eight pound for 2 course meal is great value for money, always leave totally stuffed. Biere morrati on tap and really clean. Staff so friendly and attentive.
