Have been to this restaurant over many years, last night was very disappointing. How can an Italian restaurant get pasta wrong?

On a pouring wet night we stopped and ordered a takeaway. Although the staff were very sweet the pizza was the worst we had ever had - over half ended up in the recycling - bases were like cardboard and the toppings non existent. Shall not return.

I celebrated at Bella Italia Crawley for New Years Eve Celebrations with my family and it was nothing short of fantastic. We were met at the door by a nice gentlemen called Ovi who dropped what he was doing to welcome us. His service was charming and friendly,he made us laugh and I don't think I have ever had better service anywhere else. The food was absolutely sensational as always alongside it being served quickly and on hot plates. I had the mushroom al forno and meat feast pizza as part of the set menu and not only was it delicious but also it was very good value. I highly recommend Bella Italia Crawley to anyone who is in the area. 10/10

After initial confusion both on the website and on the phone as to whether Giovanni’s was open for lunch, or dinner, or indeed open at all, I succeeded in booking a birthday lunch for two. Arriving first, through a door quite literally hidden away from the busiest streets in London, I ordered a glass of champagne. I would not be having that, my host Count Ragona informed me, his is an Italian restaurant and I would drink Prosecco. And Prosecco I drank. I also shared an excellent Sicilian red, and a couple of grappas, it was a birthday after all. We ate swordfish ceviche and pasta casa nostra - actually carbonara but called such he told us to stop certain nations asking for it with cream. With two coffees and a cocktail the bill came to less than £400 but the entertainment was worth that alone. Evidence that everyone eats at Giovanni’s abounds, signed photos cover every inch of the walls. I was seated before two astronauts and all the members of Queen. And although her signed photo was missing, the other Queen, Her Late Majesty had also dined at Giovanni’s four times, and dear Diana had also been a friend. Indeed it is hard to imagine who might not be a friend of Count Ragona’s such is his vivacity. And to prove it, on mentioning that the birthday boy was a fan of Italian cycling, an Italian champion was summoned by phone to wish him buon compleanno! Quite unforgettable!!

Meet up with friends twice a year here. We always enjoy the food and the staff are friendly and helpful and prices aren’t too bad either. However, we met up again today for our annual Xmas get together, 2 of us ordered the Gingerbread Caramel Sundae at £7.25. Sadly, I have to say, receiving this delicious sundae in a ‘plastic’ sundae dish was just wrong and because it was quite shallow, being charged £7.25 was a bit of a cheek really! The little gingerbread men were lovely tho. It won’t stop us revisiting but had to mention this,

We have been coming to gustos for 10 years it has slowly declined in terms of Service and food quality which is a shame as it used to be our favourite restaurant, The food is not bad but it’s also not as good as it used to be many years ago, when your paying decent prices you expect better, the dough petals will always be amazing, but tonight tiramisu served from a giant Tupperware from the fridge directly onto the plate at the table freezing cold, undercooked biscoff dough petals the dough like blue tac, undercooked pasta for starter, Quick service first two courses then 40 minutes wait for dessert to arrive with young children, and to top the night off a bill with discretionary service charge which never used to be on many moons ago, a charity donation, missed deposit of £60 and a £4 charge for extra cheese for a kids pizza as it was sparse to begin with Used to enjoy coming here regularly but think it will be the last visit

We are a family of 8 that booked for a 40th birthday. The food was exceptional it’s a shame the service wasn’t the same. The birthday boy didn’t even have a “happy birthday” 🙈 The waiter started clearing plates whilst we were still eating. He then came to clear the last few plates whilst my grandson was still eating and asked if he had finished. We were going to have dessert and more drinks but we felt as if we were being rushed to leave so went somewhere else. May I add that there was no-one else in the restaurant and it was 8pm on a Saturday night. Such a shame.

Disappointing last night meal we had all been looking forward to. Asked for drinks prior to meal and Manager ( Ben ) said would send someone out - 15 mins later no-one had been - asked to go to table and again asked for drinks and food - another delay !! Again waited and waited for drinks - so again asked where drinks order was - finally arrived - was a white bottle of wine but was actually warm !! The cork had been removed but opening covered with foil ( small point but but then we were pretty frustrated and it was most expensive on menu !!) asked for wine chiller - told none left !! Another waiter had spotted issue and tried to sort - he went and brought one ??? By then we had had enough and said we really didn’t want a warm white wine with meal or wait to chill down after meal !! At end of meal another waitress asked how meal was - gave an explanation of what happened - apologised but appeared to smirk when manager walked by ? Asked if wanted to see manager - said yes ! Came back with a reduction of bill but said manager too busy to see us but was aware of issue !! Walked past manager ( Ben ) at end - refused eye contact so just asked his name and left !! Food was fine and would not normally have given 1 star but a manager who refuses to acknowledge a complaint or issue was disappointing - an apology and engagement with us was all required !! So different to a fabulous meal and exceptional service at Rajinda !!!
