The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Italian food

I'd booked Stefs on Berners Street back in August for good friends 40th & 50th birthday celebrations this weekend mainly because it was right under the apartment we were staying.

Ordered a cake for my daughter’s first birthday party. Drove an hour each way to collect the cake, got it home stored in a cool dry place. Checked it to find the cake all slumped down, characters sliding off and all wrinkled. Contacted the shop was told to phone back in the morning. The following morning (the day of my daughter’s birthday party) spoke with someone on the phone and was told they’d make me a new one. Again drove an hour each way to collect the new cake, which meant I had to delay the time of the birthday party at short notice. The staff were not very apologetic. I asked if I could get a discount on the cake for the inconvenience, and the time and petrol I’ve wasted travelling back and forth and the fact I had to change the time of the party and inconvenience family and friends - was told no and given a pack of 2 candles, and that I’d have 20% off next time, not that I’d return again after this. Shocking customer service and poor attention to detail. Never again, ruined my daughter’s special day.

Absolutely brilliant service from start to finish! Helen was great with the two kids, and the four adults loved having her attitude

Went for my sons 21st and can always rely on the quality of food.Never fails,friendly staff,lovely atmosphere and food AMAZING even though I always order same thing.The ribs just fall off the bone and cannelloni is the only one I have tried with tasty meat and spinach. As for the garlic bread so thin and yummy just dont eat too much or will be full of main meal,although do allow you to take it away so had a yummy tea today x

Lovely staff, but not much food quantity for the high price. What was there was very nice and good to see some thought has gone into a vegan breakfast.

Great place and amazing atmosphere. If you like Italian food though you might be disappointed as it is not very original. I would suggest it for a nice day out for cocktails and starters.

Restaurant was busy when we arrived and we waited around 5 minutes to be seated ( I did ring ahead and ask if a table for 2 was available) we were shown to a table at the back of restaurant which was pushed against white wall which was also all we had to look at! We waited a good while before we were given menus and drinks order taken. No pumps its bottles only so 2 Peroni ordered. Weren’t quick with drinks or taking order., a male member of staff stood next to our table and just stared at my partner which was weird and uncomfortable then after what seemed an age he walked off .. didn’t ask or take order! Finally someone who asked if we were ready to order! We were both hungry and food took a good while to arrive. I ordered Penne alla Siciliana which was aubergine in a basil, mozzarella and tomato sauce. Very disappointed with what was on my plate overload of penne and tomato sauce, I couldn’t find any mozzarella and aubergine was a few tiny pieces. It was basically pasta and bland tomato sauce .. we ordered a garlic bread with tomato to share with mains the bread was cooked well but It was overloaded with bland tomato sauce: Nobody came to ask if everything was ok or if we needed more drinks ( we did need drinks) due to location of table was difficult to catch anyone’s attention. We’d finished before anyone came to table: we didn’t bother with another drink just wanted to leave. I did mention the lack of ingredients on my plate however he didn’t seem interested! My partner had fish and wasn’t impressed: overall a busy restaurant with no atmosphere and poor service ., and dishes missing main ingredients wouldn’t be in a hurry to go back.

Wonderful food, service and ambience. Our waiter Fenzi knew the menu extremely well and gave outstanding service. This restaurant consistently delivers well - I’ve eaten here a few times and every time has been excellent. Recommended.

Best lasagna we have ever tried, its a must whenever we come to London, today, we came straight from the airport

Guys, I'm not Italian so I can not make a real comparison but I can honesty say this restaurant is very very good, I visit it once per months since two years and I always feel very comfortable. The restaurant is cozy, the serivce is very good and the pizzas/food are exquisite, also you can see the kistchen from the entrance and the owen is artisanal. Very good place for any kind of meetings or if you just go alone as me Also thanks to the restaurant members to treat me very well everytime I go

We found Posillipo on TikTok and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the staff were lovely. Definitely recommend if you are in Canterbury for dinner. We had our 5 month old with us and they were very accommodating. There’s enough space for a pram if you have one. Great all round! Xx
