No pineapple on pizza the owners are very against it..... Not sure why the owners personal opinions should dictate what pizza I want Pizza was very dry and salty Waitress wasn't warm and welcoming Was here's your table, here's water from another table, and rushed off

My experience was a tail of two halves. Positive has to be being served by two of the most attractive girls I've ever seen! I mean seriously, I couldn't decide, the brunette had the prettiest face but the blonde had an incredible figure. Unfortunately this didn't make up for the terrible pizza, I seriously struggled to eat it, I'd probably say it was the worst pizza I've ever had when you factor in the cost because this meal wasn't cheap. That's an impressive accolade being as I've eaten a lot of pizza in my life!

Went for a taste of autumn,. Thought I'd have a nibble, so went for marmite cheese bread (be warned if you're on your own) this is as big as a pizza,managed to eat it all but then failed to finish my Umami bomb pizza a real taste of autumn. Loved it( but next time i think ill leave the nibbles,) talk about stuffed!! 😄

Chilled atmosphere. Meat and heat pizza always a winner, Rosemary gelato with Rosemary salt and rapeseed oil- sounds whacky but it works! All delicious.

Bertha’s was recommended to us so we thought that we’d give it a try. Having checked their website and seen that they were open from 5pm to 9pm we turned up at just after 5.30pm on a wet Bristol evening to find that the door was still shut. We could see that there were two staff walking around & working inside, and they could also see us waiting patiently outside. However, neither made any attempt to come to the door to speak to us & explain why they weren’t open and/or when they would be opening. We also tried ringing to find out whether they would be opening but after a few rings the phone just went to voicemail. Having waited patiently & been ignored for 15 minutes we gave up and took our custom elsewhere. Fortunately there isn’t a shortage of decent pizza places in Bristol. Tip: If you’re going to be late opening or not opening at all, at least spare a few seconds to scribble a note explaining/apologising to customers & stick it on the door!

Pizza dough and topping are very good, Unfortunately they always burn the bottom and pizza is overprized.it' s a No No for me.

Due to recent reviews we thought this would be a great place to go for lunch whilst out in Bristol. Extremely disappointed not only in the (lack of) quality in food but also the customer service by those working. We all chose 4 different pizzas and they all had their flaws, especially the Porking on Sunshine pizza which had no cheese (to add Mozerella was extra and total of £16.50) and what can only be described as a full red onion as topping. Service was pretty slow and poor even at a less busy time and late lunch. The additional 12.5% service charge was very fustrating based on the poor service we experienced. All felt very low effort and for the pricing vs what quality of pizza you get, I would recommend going to another pizza establishment.

I am a massive fan of this place. The pizzas are so creative and unique. Some of the toppings are surprising, but in a really good way. I absolutely love it. Lots of excellent vegetarian/vegan options. I’ve been a bunch of times and service is always super friendly too.

Thought this would be a nice idea to go for dinner one night. We ordered a garlic bread and two pizzas. Both the pizzas were dryer than the Sahara desert. When we complained about it the young guy mentioned that there was an option for mozzarella. I’m not being funny but this should be on the pizza as standard. To add insult to injury they slap a service charge on at 12.5%. Incredible disappointed and wouldn’t recommend. Better off crossing the bridge and going to CanCan

This place cooks delicious pizzas with seating in and out. Some pizzas can be expensive compared to other quick dining eateries. We opted for a couple of Margheritas which were delicious and filling. Good service and friendly staff.

I like artisan type restaurants bars etc who try to do things a little differently. Bertha's Pizza fits that style, with its own home made sourdough pizzas and an assortment of drinks on offer. First time out I went for the basic Margherita which in this case had a healthy topping of sauce and cheese, however the base slightly let it down. While it was bubbly and crispy on the edge, it was "chewy" on the whole, and the toppings were sliding off on eating. There were tables inside and out, and a nice chilled vibe about the place, small though it looked. I wouldn't put you off, but I'm thinking sourdough pizza isn't for me, as I had a similar experience earlier elsewhere. I wouldn't put you off this though.👍

The male server was extremely rude. One of my friends drove 5 hours from London and the service let it down. Didn’t know the menu, and rushed us out. Pizza was good though, and female servers were great.

Not easy review. Ok welcoming and service was very good and polite. The industrial dirty look felt like you were eating in someone's garage, some people like it, I don't it feels cold and not confortable at all. Menu is pizza this is it. Oh one dish of Lasagna only. Food the topping of my Pizza was watery, no colour, and sadly the onions won't cooked still raw, the tomato base sauce had no flavour, and my topping was blend, supposed to be spicy. My friend had the gluten free base option, and although it is GF free, so you can't expect wonders, still the frozen GF free pizza from Tesco are definitely better! Oh no oil, salt and pepper on table to add to your pizza. So honestly, except a great friendly welcoming and service, I would not travel miles for a pizza if I am really honest. Pizza toppings need FLAVOUR guys! Lot's of it!!!!

Insanely good pizza and lovely service

We lunched with a young grandson who was very hungry...his pizza arrived very quickly and so he was happy and content to read his books while we ate our pizzas....

Picked up an order from the Too Good To Go app and it turned out to be a butternut squash base pizza with Nduja and cheese. It was absolutely delicious. It was great because I'd never order something like that usually but ended up being absolutely delicious. The dough was perfectly cooked, butternut base was a really nice change and complemented the sausage and cheese perfectly. Guy serving me was nice, got my pizza quickly. Just based from this pick up I'd say this is a really good spot - I 100% recommend the pizza I got and I'm sure the rest of their menu is also great. 10 out of 10, will be returning soon.

There were 3 of us eating and having a good chinwag catch up. Great atmosphere, attentive, friendly service, and fab pizzas and cocktails. Harriet, who served us gave great suggestions, really knew the menu, great place for after work drinks and food. Loved the background music too, not too loud but added to the overall vibe.

We had a nice time. Pizzas were tasty but I would say they were rather small. Pizza ingredients are cheap so I would expect to be full after spending £15. Children's Pizzas were same size as adults @ half the price.

Tried this place after seeing Bossfinesse go here. Honestly so so disappointing. The dough has no flavour. The honey pepperoni pizza was awful. No honey taste and superrrrr soggy. Garlic bread was mostly burnt and huge edges with no garlic on. Then the tirimassu (my fav desert) was watery??? The cream was foamy like cheap cream. Honestly never found a better pizza than Bosco pizzeria and Pizza on the Park. I don't understand how they could get it so wrong.

This place is amazing, there pizzas are the business. We found this place by accident over 4 years ago (because our car broke down) and no other pizza is good enough now. We have sampled dinning in as a couple, as a family of 5 and takeaway and we have never been disappointed! Food, drink, service & price are spot on! Keep up the good work all at Bretha’s. We will be back soon! Love love love this place ❤️

Yummy pizzas and great to have dips for your crusts. The food was great but the wine is really average. A good place to go with families but I wouldn't go in the evening with my wife.

The lasagne pizza is absolutely insane and I have told everyone about it! The guys here are so friendly and helpful. When the restaurant was too busy, they called a local bar and had a spot reserved for us to enjoy our food and a beer round the corner. The dough is fresh and the tomato base on the pepperoni is so flavoursome. Easily one of the best pizzas in Bristol.

I have been to Bertha's a couple of times before with friends and really enjoyed the pizza, the dough is really nice and they sometimes have interesting toppings. I took my partner for the first time and we were very disappointed. I have never felt compelled to write a bad review before today. We ordered two pizzas to share, but when they were brought out one was not what we had asked for. I informed the waitress of this and she proceeded to accuse me of lying and said that I had ordered that pizza. I had nothing to gain from saying it was the wrong pizza, we didn't eat any of it (as I don't even like bbq pizza, which is why I didn't order that one!) and allowed them to take it away, so I was quite confused why she thought I would do this. We decided to share the one correct pizza and leave. The bill still came to about £30 for a disappointing half a pizza each (the vegan "sausage" is just a very dry stuffing) with dip, a can of soft drink, and a small can of beer. The waitress gave an unconvincing apology when we paid and did offer a free mango sorbet but we just wanted to leave the tense atmosphere. We won't be returning which is a shame.

Arrived just after opening and already people were trickling in, which felt like a good sign. Food and service were both excellent.

I came here with my sister on Saturday after being at The wave. The pizza was delicious and I loved my combination I had - can't remember the name. I was so impressed with with the pesto mayo too - my sister ordered it i practically ate it all. Seems like a reliable pizzeria place with delicious toppings.

Really nice meal. Pizza was lovely, atmosphere great, and the staff worked really hard to make my aunty's birthday a memorable one! Highly recommended.

I was a bit disappointed, to be honest. We have seen lots of very positive reviews here so we had high expectations... but we found the food was average. The dough wasn't cooked enough for my taste and everyone was eating their pizza with knives and forks accordingly. As vegetarians, we didn't feel we had a huge amount of choice and neither of the pizzas we chose had a traditional cheese and tomato base in the end. Both us and the tables next to us left food on their plates. The vegan garlic aioli was intensely garlicky, whoever said you can't have too much garlic was wrong.

Visited with a large group for a birthday, overall the food was mediocre, the pizzas were generally good but nothing special. A bit disappointed when a side salad was bought out and it was just a pile of leaves for £6 you expect better. Not attentive service at all. Also it’s worth noting that we visited for a birthday and bought a cake and candles to the restaurant and they charged a cakeage fee £10, we were not made aware of this upon arrival. Great for your basic pizza night but I’d definitely say there are better pizza joints in Bristol.

We just popped in for their genuine homemade gelato , but couldn’t resist the pizza aroma - the Burrata Obama was stunningly good , every bite a taste sensation ! Don’t miss it if you’re in Bristol and near Wapping wharf ! Oh the gelato was great too !

We had a lovely meal here to celebrate my son's A levels. So nice to see a more unusual selection of pizza toppings & a sourdough base- the special with slow cooked lamb & creamed feta was delicious, the Margarita was simple & tasty and the pork was also really good. Very friendly & relaxe atmosphere - we'll definitely be returning.

This review is for the recent Ramen pop-up which was hosted at Bertha's. I sent feedback privately after being sent an email asking to do so, but have had no response. The Ramen pop-up was very disappointing and definitely not worth the money. We firstly started with the chicken kaarage which was fine but covered in completely black and old herbs. We then waited for over an hour to be served the soup (of which there was only one option on the menu and about 5 customers in the restaurant), only to be served a bowl of stone cold noodles and a pickled egg and barely warm dipping broth. This meant the whole dish went cold within 3 minutes-not really what you want from Ramen and ESPECIALLY after waiting for over an hour. None of the staff bothered to apologise during that time or explain why the food was taking that long, and all we got at the end was an "Oh yeah, it was a casual service today" from one of the waitresses which just isn't really good enough. Really disappointing and disappointing to not have received a response.

Don't normally enjoy a whole pizza to myself, just not one of the pizza loving people...However... On visiting this place, enjoyed a really lovely spicy and sweet pizza that was mind blowing. Thoroughly recommend, service was prompt and friendly, good was very very good, and if you are a pizza lover then you're in for an even better treat, it almost turned me into a pizza lover, but I know they won't all be as good as this!

An easy place to call in for an early dinner, either with family, friends or couples. Always greeted with a friendly smile, & we were swiftly seated, despite no reservation. This is not our first visit, and we are familiar with their menu. All Pizza's are delicious sourdough bases, & come mainly with different toppings to what you can find in other 'bland' & uninteresting pizza chain restaurants; so, Bertha's is perfect for those people who are looking for a better standard. We opted for the Danny's Burger 'Beef Chucky' special, which promised so much. This cheesey, hot & well balanced pizza was good, however, the 'Beef Chucky' was almost non-existent, and sadly I felt was quite a let down. For the higher price of just over £16, the size (like with all Bertha's Pizza's) a small-medium pizza, I did feel should have reflected Danny's Burgers in a better light, and been much more generous with the toppings.

I was confronted by "Harry", a rather unpleasant young man that took great pleasure in verbally assaulting me then decided to punch me on my nose. I won't be returning to this business again (having been here on many previous occasions) and would highly recommend others giving this establishment a wide berth until they can train their employees to act respectfully.

Opted to try on First Table, whilst there was overall no complaints, we just felt that there was something missing. Did feel quite pricey for the drinks, service was good, but just something missing for us when compared with other Pizza restaurants

Yummy pizza and the dips are insane!

I've eaten at Berthas 3 times over the last few years. Each time has been perfectly unique and incredible. From trying my first ever non tomato topped pizza, which was life changing, to there outlandish but delicious gelato flavours - Kellogg's crunchy nut being a particular favourite so far. I would argue there speciality wood fire sourdough pizzas are unmatched anywhere in the UK. The drinks are regularly updated and delicious. Everything I love about Bristol as a city is represented within the team that work there. They are welcoming, friendly and non judgemental. Everyone chats to you and they work tirelessly to give you the best dining experience possible, and there passion for what they serve is palpable. I give thanks to the culinary gods establishments like Berthas exist.

Best mushroom pizza in Bristol!

Genuine 5 out of 5 for everything. I don't usually post unless I really feel like I have to and I felt like I just needed to do thus place justice. Staff are friendly and couldn't do enough for you. It's in a gorgeous little location. It was the freshiest pizza 🍕 I've EVER tasted and above all. Extremely reasonable priced. If I come sum it up in just a few words Berthas makes Dominoes look like a absolute joke. Best pizza ever seriously.

I recently visited this pizza place and was pleased with the delicious pizza. However, the service was not up to par as we had to wait almost two hours for our food despite arriving at 7pm. Additionally, the gratuity charge of 12.5% felt forced and non-discretionary. Even when purchasing a bottle of wine at the bar, we were expected to pay the same charge. I believe that tipping should be based on good service and appreciation from the staff. Overall, the pizza was good but the service and gratuity charge left much to be desired.

Average food. Not a great choice of pizza’s or drinks. 12.5% gratuity added automaticity, bit of joke really. If the service is good and I want to tip I will…

Fantastic pizza. A mix of more unusual toppings along with beautiful home made sourdough bases made for a great pizza experience. Service friendly and relaxed. A great place all round.

Lovely pizza restaurant. One can tell that the ingredients put in their pizza are of excellent quality. Service staff were attentive and warm. I highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful evening at Bertha’s pizza. They accommodated us all to celebrate a family birthday occasion and we were made to feel very welcome. The food itself was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. 100% recommend this lovely place. We’ll be back again.

Two people dinner at 7pm on January Saturday. Food was really good, especially my pizza with mixed mushrooms and almonds. We wanted to have tiramisu (the only pudding option except for ice cream), but we were told they ran out, which was pretty poor for 7.30pm on Saturday. We were told twice that they wanted the table back by 8.30pm, which I understand - but after we finished pizza and were told about tiramisu, instead of offering more drinks the witress just brought the card machine and "asked" if we wanted the bill :/ We still had almost half an hour... Overall, great pizza, but we felt a bit pushed to vacate the table early. Also, the upstairs area could use some decorating, empty walls are a bit boring.

We ate there on 7 Jan 23 for my birthday. It was easy to book online and when we arrived they were expecting us and there were no problems. Shown to our table within a few minutes and offered drinks. There's was a guest ale and a few other local beers on offer. There is a nice selection of pizzas on offer, we had wild mushroom and almonds; and a homemade sausage and chilli pizza. Both were really good and we would try them again and recommend. The size is a touch on the smallish side, for our tastes, but not ridiculously so. There was no tiramisu available 😢 and I believe some of the gelato options were also off the menu. Service is friendly and we didn't need to wait really for anything. We sat upstairs and found it a little bare and sparse, hence only 3/5 for atmosphere. That said, we would recommend the place and when the weather turns for the better we are planning to return with some of the Italian chefs from work to see what they think. If choosing between Berthas or Pizza on the park, come to Berthas.
