Out for for a walk and found this lovely diner on a weekend away from Galway. Fabulous breakfast served up at a reasonable price from very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Travelling from Canada we landed in Derry and were very hungry . Found the Broody Hen and had ourselves some lunch . It did not disappoint ! The portions were very generous , the servers attentive and loved the ambience. We liked it so much went back for the roast dinner ! Noornie was an absolute delight to speak with and we hope to be back and see her again .

Punto de craqueo para el desayuno. Un ambiente acogedor, asientos cómodos y posiblemente uno de los mejores lugares de Derry para sentarse. Vine aquí para desayunar y tomar un café después del gimnasio y nada mejoró mi día. . . ¡Sigan haciendo lo que ustedes están haciendo! ! (Gachas O panqueques son mi ir también)

A warm and welcoming restaurant in a quiet area. Excellent staff and great food with some unexpected extras. Good choice of dishes on the menu. We will definitely come back.

Me and 7 other friends were looking for a quick bite to eat before our bus left in an hour. This cafe was cute and promising so we went in. We sat between two tables because there wasn't a big enough table to accommodate us, the lady told us there would be a 10% service charge for our large party, which was quite alright. We ordered drinks and food, sandwiches, avocado toast, breakfast burritos, quick standard food. Drinks took 20 minutes to come out and food took over 40 minutes. At one point the cafe ran out of avocados so a few friends left. By the time the food came out, we don't have time to eat in the cafe and have to grab togo containers or try and eat as fast as possible. We were still asked to pay the service charge, which I found a little ridiculous since a few of us left without having anything but water. And we were split between two tables less than four people at each table.

Do yourself a favour and skip the chains for some quality home made grub. We had a fry, soup, bacon soda, fish and chips. The food was wholesome, home made, tasty and good value. As it was Christmas, they threw in some free glasses of wine. Friendly and prompt service. Definitely recommend and we'll pop in next time we are in the neighbourhood.

My friends and I were walking around the wall and I needed to use the lavatory. I saw the Anchor Bar so one of my friends and I stopped in. While she used the facilities, I ordered us 2 half pints. The lady tending bar was super friendly as were the folks sitting at the bar. We ended up sitting down and talking to some folks at the next table. We then texted our friends to come join us. We ended up staying for 2 or 3 rounds. The bartender came over and took a few photos for us. We had a great time there. The vibe of the place was just so laid back and friendly. We all loved it. We didn't eat so I don't even know if they offer food.

Visited on a Sunday recently. Dont let the door fool you: the experience starts in the carpark because the aroma of the homemade pizza sauce et all will greet you before the amazing staff. Had the table booked because I'm not an idiot and we found our booth spaceous and bright. I'll try be concise: this was the most satisfying meal I've had this year so far. I opted for a chilli honey flatbreak and the burrata and friend (and son) went for two pizzas (one no cheese) and we barely spoke. The flavours, size and presentation all en pointe (yes i spelt it correctly) . Their decaf coffee is fantastic and their supplying of New Kid coffee is taken very seriously, as my tastebuds can attest to. The place is full of heart, the kindest lady on the floor is the owner & the man at the oven is her visionary husband. Chefs working hard; look up and smile at you. Read that line again! Unheard of. I dont know where the name Scarpello originates, but it has arrived in Derry with a reputation for excellence, flavour & consistent high standard. The only thing better than this meal was the consequential nap I took afterwards. Thanks Scarpello. See ye soon x

My partner and me both went for lunch, his meal was great, drinks were great. But my meal wasn't good at all got from the gluten free menu but it was covered in spice, I love spice but it was unnecessary didn't finish the meal and as we left I had a reaction like I had eaten gluten and I was in so much pain. Will not be back
