Out for for a walk and found this lovely diner on a weekend away from Galway. Fabulous breakfast served up at a reasonable price from very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

10/10 breakfast! Asked the staff to accommodate some changes to our order which they went above and beyond considering they were extremely busy. Will certainly be back!

Travelling from Canada we landed in Derry and were very hungry . Found the Broody Hen and had ourselves some lunch . It did not disappoint ! The portions were very generous , the servers attentive and loved the ambience. We liked it so much went back for the roast dinner ! Noornie was an absolute delight to speak with and we hope to be back and see her again .

My experience was disappointing due to a misunderstanding over drink charges. We were told we had to order both an appetizer and a main dish in order to have an alcoholic drink. I specifically asked the waitress if the drink would be included in that price, and she assured me it would be. However, when the bill came, we were charged for everything, including the drink. When I questioned it, she insisted she hadn’t said that the drink was included. I felt misled and disappointed. I hope the restaurant clarifies its policies to avoid similar situations for future customers.

This is my favourite restaurant, the food is amazing and the staff are all very nice! My wife and I come to the Old Docks every year for our wedding anniversary. My Facebook profile picture has been a selfie of my wife and I outside the door of the restraunt for two years in a row. My only little niggle I have is that the restaurant can get a bit noisy. The music can be a wee bit loud and at Christmas they have a dancing Santa who hands out presents. This is lovely for people who are into this, but I prefer just to enjoy their good food and have conversation that I can hear. The Old Docks are very easy to book a table with. I have a child with special needs and the staff are always great, trying to put us out of the way because my child has sensory issues. During the normal seasonal dining the staff have gone out of their way to also turn the music down a little when I explained my child had special needs. It is great to see a restaurant showing such understanding. I don't expect this treatment or for other people to have to accommodate our family's special requirements, but I am very grateful when they try to help us. I can hardly wait until it's my birthday and I can tuck into their sweet, sticky, chilli prawns and steak served with bacon and cheese mash and an extra side of mushrooms that melt in the mouth! I totally recommend this restaurant, it has some of the best food in the city!

My favourite Derry pub when I'm over. Staff are great, food is plentiful and the craic is mighty!
