Ordered the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with Fries and a Coke. Service from the young Lady was prompt, sadly the Coke was probably from a already opened plastic bottle i.e warm and slightly flat, food was served quickly, fries were good, hard to feck them up, sadly the Cheese steak was lacking steak, only a few pieces, and the cheese was on the top of the sarnie, not melted inside, disappointing all round.

Very busy place, pretty nice atmosphere and character with a nice variety of decorations. Roast beef was overcooked and tough. Beef and Guinness stew was ok. Cearser dirty salad was bad. Parsley sauce just had dried parsley sitting at the bottom of the service cup, and we had stir it to mix in the parsley . Philly cheese steak was nothing special. Irish breakfast was fine. Thick fries were ok, not greasy. The garlic potatoes cubes were tasty. Small tap list of beets. Guiness was poured properly. The Rough as Badger hazy IPA had a very mild hop flavour for a hazy IPA, I was expecting more flavour. The booth seating is very short in depth maybe 13 inches in depth, so seating was not comfortable. Service was pretty good and friendly.

Before walking the city walls, we asked a local resident to recommend a great place to eat that is near the wall. He recommended Badger's, and we are so glad we took his advice. For us, it was near the end of our walk on the city walls, so it was a perfect way to end our day exploring Derry. I had a wonderful Irish Beef and Guinness Stew, and my wife had the quesadilla. Both were excellent. In fact, we spent about two weeks exploring Ireland and all the British Isles, and my meal at Badger's was one of the best I had. The server was so kind to us, recognizing that we were trying to figure things out and arriving close to closing time. She was a great help with advice for parking and other Derry details. In addition, our table was next to a table with a mother and daughter from Omagh. We had a delightful time talking with them about Ireland, the U.S., and their relatives in Canada and Boston. Many times in Ireland we were able to meet incredibly kind and helpful people, and this mum and daughter were two of them. We had a great experience at Banger's!

Nice tent, cozy atmosphere, service does their best, only the food could be much better and that's basically what it's all about. The lasagna was bone dry and half of it could go in the trash. The fish chowder tasted fine, but the quantity was just enough as a starter And it is listed as a main course with the corresponding price. An apology from the staff is nice, but they could have also arranged something with the price afterwards

Badgers Bar & Restaurant has over 1000 Google Maps reviews and a great star rating, so my son and I decided to head here for lunch during our trip to Derry/Londonderry today. Now, I'll caveat this by saying that it seemed exceptionally busy for a Wednesday lunchtime, and in hindsight, I wish I'd asked what the wait time for food would be. I didn't do this, and we ended up waiting for around 35 minutes after we'd been seated. I ordered the Badgers Beef Burger and my son the buttermilk chicken burger. Both meals come with a side of your choice. I got chunky chips, my son ordered skinny fries and we both ordered a side of pepper sauce. The beef burger was nice, but slightly overcooked for my preference and could have used a relish or sauce on the burger because it was quite dry, though a mayo style dip is provided on the side. No complaints on the chicken burger from my son! The atmosphere in the bar is really nice though and the menu is extensive and well curated with a mix of traditional and contemporary meals and small plates on offer. The music playlist was right up my street, mostly well known and loved 90s and early 00s hits!

Disappointing experience. Food took ages to arrive and when it did, it was freezing. 3 out-of 4 of our dining party had melted plastic throughout their mashed potato's which made them sick. The meat was dried out and tough. We left after paying for our drinks. Other diners who witnessed our issue ended up cancelling their meals and left behind us. One couple had ordered burgers and the bacon was served raw inside it. The waitresses where amazing and so apologetic. Bless them they were so embarrassed. But we won't be back

Had the roast dinner today and to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. Waited ages for it to arrive and when it did most of it was freezing. Roast beef was dry and tasted horrible. Worst part was the plastic that was through the mashed potato's. Our entire party got up and ended up paying for our drinks and left. Followed closely behind by a few other diners who where disgusted with what they witnessed and the state their own food came out

This is my favourite restaurant, the food is amazing and the staff are all very nice! My wife and I come to the Old Docks every year for our wedding anniversary. My Facebook profile picture has been a selfie of my wife and I outside the door of the restraunt for two years in a row. My only little niggle I have is that the restaurant can get a bit noisy. The music can be a wee bit loud and at Christmas they have a dancing Santa who hands out presents. This is lovely for people who are into this, but I prefer just to enjoy their good food and have conversation that I can hear. The Old Docks are very easy to book a table with. I have a child with special needs and the staff are always great, trying to put us out of the way because my child has sensory issues. During the normal seasonal dining the staff have gone out of their way to also turn the music down a little when I explained my child had special needs. It is great to see a restaurant showing such understanding. I don't expect this treatment or for other people to have to accommodate our family's special requirements, but I am very grateful when they try to help us. I can hardly wait until it's my birthday and I can tuck into their sweet, sticky, chilli prawns and steak served with bacon and cheese mash and an extra side of mushrooms that melt in the mouth! I totally recommend this restaurant, it has some of the best food in the city!

This was my first meal in Derry and it did not disappoint! I was seated shortly after 5pm at a window table, so I got to watch the bustle of Derry Halloween festivities while enjoying an espresso martini and their vegan lentil cottage pie (salad side). Price point was good. Service was friendly and efficient (even as the place was filling with costumed ghouls and goblins). Will definitely tell others to check it out!
