Thanks to all the staff who made our very wet afternoon in Derry a lot brighter. Couldn’t ask for friendlier staff, very knowledgable of the area and happy to recommend places to visit and stay. And Liverpool Fc! :-) We had toasties and chips and we couldn’t fault it, our only down side was leaving! Thanks again and hope to see you all again soon!

We dropped in for a drink after dinner at the Maldron. We were just wandering around the walled town and saw this unassuming doorway. Popped in on a quiet Monday night. Only a few people, but there was one old gent at the corner of the bar, and we had a lovely hour-long conversation with him. He was on his last drink of the night, a cinnamon thingie. He told us he did not live in old-town, but a cab would take him home. If you are a tourist, this is the local place you seek. Friendly publican, warm environment, nice locals.

See title. Sorry, I wrote this review in the title. To repeat, if you're looking for a proper Derry bar, this one is hard to beat.

Come ristorante direi medio: cocktail di gamberi piccolino e senza particolarità, buona la carne. Personale gentilissimo. Nel retro un pub ampio ma piuttosto vecchiotto. Prezzo medio.

W G s a small local place, half pub, half cafe and serves the most wonderful breakfasts. We stopped on the way from Belfast to the west coast. Husband had a huge full breakfast and I had a bacon roll. We both had tea. Beware though breakfast is served with chips! Never had chips with breakfast before but I ate them. And toast too. All for £9.50. Husband was astonished. Staff and customers are very friendly. To be recommended if you have a big appetite and like a bargain.

Wg's bar is a beautiful friendly bar. The staff and customers are very welcoming. Everyone of all ages seem to fit in great. The Live music is fantastic and food is beautiful too. They have the BEST guinness in town by far!! I'm in my late 20's and to be able to come in and enjoy a drink or bite to eat in this bar is amazing! You will always be sure of a great nights craic here. :-)

I have passed this place several times, thinking it was an off-licence, so when I noticed it's a bar, I popped in to suss it out. Although the address they give is Society St, their main door is on Shipquay St. The bar is at the back, and although it's comfortable, it is very old fashioned and run down. The customers are a bit old fashioned also, very set in their ways. But it is a friendly place, and they have a restaurant at the front. Great spot to come to if you want to read your paper, or watch the horse racing. If you want to be cheered up, don't come here.
