The best restaurants serving Indian food in Southside / Newington Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh and Lothian

Very good food, staff is nice and gave good recommendations. Surely worthy of a visit!

We've been past this restaurant literally 100's of times, always meaning to have a meal there, but never found the time. Well last week we decided to give it a try. Phoned on the Friday evening to see if we could book a table at short notice and were delighted we were able to. We were greeted at the door and shown to our table by a very pleasant, helpful guy. We ordered a starter and main meal each plus some Cobra beer. The staff were absolutely excellent and served us promptly. Now the important bit ..... the food was awesome, I mean absolutely awesome! The starters are big, you could easily share 1 between 2. The main meals were brilliant and again plentiful. It's a shame we wasted so many years walking past this restaurant. We can't praise them enough, absolutely loved it.

+10 points for the option of the enormous jug of lassi. The Puri Yoghurt Bombs were delicious and a must eat delectable morsel. The service was prompt and friendly - a fresh take on Indian street food (a mix of the new and the traditional). The butter chicken was also delicious!

Best curry I've ever eaten, again. This is the one behind the Mosque, not the one on the road that says it's the original. Proper food, lovely welcome and service. Great coffee too.

The food was absolutely fantastic! I've never had a chai latte that compares to the one they serve here. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Visited October 2020 Wonderful coffee ( and I don’t say that often ) Great seats felt very safe ( COVID-19) all clean and decent space between tables. Very good selection of food and friendly staff. We will be back again soon

Food is very good and reasonably priced, the owner and (I assume) his son are friendly. The place is unassuming and functional rather than fancy.

This is such a good place to have lunch / dinner if you're interested Edinburgh. The food is good and the quantity too. Loved their service !

I went to this place because I was craving for some South Indian food. It was amazing. I enjoyed every bite of what i ordered. Reasonable prices!

Very tasty and it’s wonderful . Staff was very friendly. They have street food choices in the buffet . Highly recommend!!
