Inexpensive, comfortable and cosy Indian curry house. I’ve visited a few times over the years and it’s always a pleasant experience. There’s a great laidback, homely atmosphere and the food is always delicious. All excellent value for money too. Absolutely loved the chicken domoda on my most recent visit. Can’t go wrong with a side of naan or a mango lassi either

Excellent address, the dishes are delicious! The waitress is very funny and very kind! Very affordable price! We ate there 2 evenings in a row and we will come back again!

I got here with my partner, and we were a bit worried that it would be spicy food as your normal masalas and stuff would be on the heavily seasoned / spicy side. This food was just perfection. Had so much flavour without being overpowering or heavy. I could have easily ate another portion ( no I couldn't, but it was just Soo good, I wish I would have had more). The atmosphere is good too and I loved the decor.

Ordered the £22 Meat Platter and was very disappointed. Portion sizes were tiny and quality of the food was low. Never like leaving negative reviews but people need warned.

We tried to visit for breakfast but despite the name this place doesn't always open at ten am. The opening hours are written on the window as 10am start 7 days a week. We had a wasted journey which was a real shame as other reviews tell us that the food is great.

Super friendly place, very good food for a good price

Quite frankly it's offensive they even call themselves an Indian restaurant. No respect for the cuisine at all. Not only is it NOT authentic Indian food, it's hardly even edible. The curry is simply unpleasant and lacking any sort of taste, the meat is scarce and dry, the rice is stodgy and moist, the nan is wet, and the lassi is literally vanilla yogurt with jam. Avoid at all costs. This is an embarrassment.

Really delicious and beautifuly presented food for a great price. The interior is so beautiful and a must see. Very friendly staff/owners. Got a channa Masala, Masala chai, and chocolate Gamache baklava (not pictured).

A very friendly restaurant, excellent cuisine. You can go there with your eyes closed. The chef is extremely kind and helpful. I recommend this restaurant if I stayed in Edinburgh longer I would go every day!!

One of the best halal restaurants in Edinburgh! Just 2 minutes away from Edinburgh Central Mosque. Cosy restaurant and friendly staff. I appreciate having my tea topped up when I asked for a takeway cup as I couldn't finish it with my meal. Thank you!

Apart from the name, nothing is close to Indian food..

I may have suffered fraud at this restaurant because they charged twice for the same meal because of their possibly broken POS machine, but I would have no problem paying at any other merchant around here. To this day, this restaurant still owes me 8.95 pounds. I will do everything possible to protect my rights as a consumer.

One of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh! Such a cosy atmosphere and the food is delicious. My husband and I typically share the meat platter which comes with a drink each and a dessert to share. The cheesecake is to die for. I think about it all the time. The service is great, the vibe is great, and it’s a fantastic place to get dinner if you want to listen in on uni gossip lol.

Sorry to say, but nothing here is relatable to Indian food or anything. We ordered Briyani and Keema Sheema Rice, both the dishes were bland. No taste and no aroma...very far from being an Indian dish. The Briyani was served separately as rice and curry, which was very weird. Very disappointing. Not recommended.

One of the best halal options in town. The owner is very kind and friendly and the atmosphere inside is really cozy. We tried the Chicken Domoda, which tasted amazing. A must try!

The place seemed very warm and cozy. The food could have been more better but seemed the chef fanced Turmeric powder so well, it was excessive in almost all the food. Tho I would recommend you going there for lassi it was fab as anything.

The food didn't taste anything like being in Delhi, food was very bland and i ordered four different curries which all pretty much tasted the same. It wasnt bad food, it just isn't the food I thought it would have been. Plus the place is very small and the seating arrangement isnt exactly roomy. But the prices are cheap

The best value for money in Edinburgh! Everything I’ve eaten here is amazing, the decor is beautiful and the atmosphere is really cosy. The staff are absolutely lovely - my partner is gluten-free and while the menu doesn’t have GF markers, the staff are able to point out their GF options and always double-check with the kitchen. And one time they refilled my mango lassi for free! my favourite place ❤️❤️❤️

The food was good, portion size is good. But the space is bit congested. Literally you can listen to other people sitting around you.

This is a small, family run business in a good location. I’ve been twice and on both occasions the staff were welcoming and helpful. Plenty of marked options for meat, veggie and vegan diets. The food is tasty. The prices are reasonable too.

This is my regular spot for tea and delicious curry and rice; I usually come with friends and family. However, on Monday evening, his staff Ali behaved unexpectedly. I acknowledge that I ordered the wrong meat platter instead of the meat plate, but the chef knows me personally and even though the response was unexpected, I did not say I didn't want the order even though I had just come for tea. Instead, I said it was okay and took that meat platter. My concern was that the tea was only hot water it wasn’t the regular chai , so I tried to say this to the chef in a quiet voice , this guy Ali (staff ) he literally pushed me out , I was shocked , I wanted to say this to chef is tea was jus an hot water , this Ali guy made some mistake and pushed me the blame .. he spoke rude and touched me to go out of the kitchen , well I been to this kitchen helped the chef to keep the kitchen stuff when he had no staff … any way very sad evening I jus walked out after paying … rude behaviour by his staff very disappointed

I was a bit indecisive about trying this place for a while not sure why. Ended up deciding to try it for a change and were surprised at the warm welcome with a cosy atmosphere during the winter season as it was cold and dark outside. Service was great considering the place was full so feeling grateful to have managed to get seated straight away with menus. Ended up ordering a platter for 2 which was amazing not completely desi but really great value for money and something slightly different from the normal curry spots I tend to visit. Had a cheesecake dessert which was pleasant with desi chai which I couldn't fault. Will definitely come back as I found it to be a very joyful experience as sometimes these places can be a disappointment.

The food was amazing! The cheesecake was the best I’ve ever tasted, home made and creamy, absolutely delicious! It was great value at £23 for two of us for the whole meal and drinks.

Popular with university of Edinburgh students, locals, and beyond. Highly recommend!

Wouldn't say the food was 100% authentic Indian ..but it was really good and good portions for less than 8pounds.. and the interior is Rajasthani inspired and looks lovely So it's well worth the price and the service was pretty fast too

We were looking for some Indian food here after our castle tour and we saw this accidentally on maps. Though we had walked for a mile to reach the restaurant, it was worth the food. We have ordered Mutton and rice it was very tasty. Also we had Mango cheesecake it tasted good as well. The ambience inside looked like we are sitting in a dhabha in India, it was a very good find I would say.

Great, laid back eatery in the centre of Edinburgh which is great value and very tasty. Dinner for 2 for £22 in the middle of the festival, need I see more!

Been eating here with my family for years and years. Always makes us happy

Food was okay, when we eventually got our order. We waited over an hour at our table - watched several people order and receive their takeaway within 15 mins. The server told us twice to wait a few more mins and our order will arrive (only ordered for two people). Another 20 mins passed and we asked another server and it looked as though our order was never put through. Waited again and ended up getting our food takeaway - they gave us 2 warm diet cokes as an apology. They said sorry but this was only I had to persistently ask for my order. Ended up total wait time of over 90 mins all up- another couple showed up after waiting 2 hours for their Uber eats order. Would not go back simply for this reason.

I called the restaurant up and asked if they served rice with their mains. Man on the phone told me “is this a serious question” acting if I was asking a ludicrous question. So rude

Really good home style food! Not oily, not spicy (you could order it hot though). Was very surprised with how tasty all the preparation and super affordable. More of a casual homey restaurant in university area, small kitchen, friendly staff, and decked up like alladin's cave!

Reis war völlig verkocht. Ich glaube der Reis war schon den ganzen Tag im Reiskocher und deshalb völlig matschig. Das Masala war sonst gut und der Preis ist unschlagbar.

This is my happy place. It's easily my favourite lunch place in Edinburgh. Great if you're on a budget and great for bringing a friend or two as they cater for vegans / vegetarians as well as meat-eaters. My go-to is the chicken masala wrap but I'm told the rest of their food is amazing as well. 10to10 is an integral part of my Fringe experience year on year 💕

The quantity of food for the price was good and customer service was also good. Only issue was too much turmeric in the dishes served other than that the everything was alright. I had mutter paneer and chicken yasa.

Cheap and very tasty food! They offer mild, medium and hot - make sure to order medium because mild was a bit bland. Still 5* because it was my own fault, can't really blame them for that.

Nosotros pedimos Chicken Domoda, Muttar Paneer(pueden verse algo Similar pero el sabor es diferente uno del otro ambos buenísimos) y de bebidas Mango Lassi y Masala Chai. De recordarlo se me hace agua la boca, si volvería a comer ahí ✨.
