Fantastic Indian street food and BYOB. Enjoyed a delicious meal here tonight. Every dish was amazing. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Nice vibe restaurant and the food was super delicious. We came around 6pm, the restaurant looks busy but the food was served very quick. Highly recommend!

Guys such an amazing food, staff were so friendly but the masala chai really??? are you guys serious about it? that’s not chai at all, please claim that as coloured water not even hot or flavoured.

Amazing value for all dishes, with something to please everyone and all delicious (we took some home, too good to waste!). Brilliant central location - there was only one other person in when we visited so it appears to be a hidden gem. 4* for atmosphere as it's very vibrant but the music (whilst authentic Bollywood style) was a touch too loud for Sunday lunchtime, although it'd be great for a night out!! Will happily go back to try more :)

Come often and always order the same dishes!!! Lamb biryani, railway station curry and potato and baby aubergine curry.... so good! But absolute favourite is the samosa chaat!!!! The best!!!!!

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Delicious food, with really inventive starters and desserts - quite unlike any other Indian I've been to. Very reasonably priced, and a great range of drinks too.

The food was delicious and flavourful! The curry portions are small but then you can try more.

We had dinner at TukTuk Restaurant in Edinburgh, and it was a lovely experience overall. The ambiance was charming, with a touch of Indian culture that added a vibrant and cozy vibe to the place. We started our meal with chai, which was delightful and set the tone for the evening. We also ordered some chaat, biryani, naan, and gravy dishes. The food was flavorful and satisfying, though the portion sizes were a bit smaller than we expected. The service was excellent—our server (I believe her name was Lilly or something similar) was attentive and friendly, making sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. All in all, we had a great time at TukTuk and would recommend it for anyone looking for a good Indian dining experience in Edinburgh. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Today I had Indian food at this restaurant and to my surprise the food was not upto the mark as reviewed by others and the prices. Moreover, I would suggest the owner/ chef to consider keeping 'Paneer sabzi' in 'desert menu' rather in the main course.

Cannot stress enough how good the food and service was in this establishment. Very reasonably priced, very quickly greeted served and seated too. Ate here twice in 4 days.

During my stay in Edinburgh I visited these place couple of times. Simple menu with delicious dishes. The staff was very polite and helpful. Also the service was accurate. Great place with reasonable prices.

Had a superb meal here this evening. One of the tastiest Indian meals I've had. Went with my 7 year old who also loved it, having not been that interested in Indian food in the past. Lovely service too. Very friendly and attentive. I'll be back soon!

Such a different eating experience. The restaurant was very rustic and basic as one would expect if it is serving street food. Portion sizes perfectly adequate and delicious. We found the dishes slightly hotter e,g medium is hot. Having previously travelled in India we hadn't been brave enough and were advised not to eat street food. So this did did compensate and was a great experience

The Biryani is really good and overall Mango Mastani is cherry on top Its delicious 😋 Highly recommended..!!!!

It was a very good experience at tuk tuk and the butter mashala and dal makhani is awesome with taste.

The food is very diverse and delicious. There's everything there to satisfy all appetites, big and small! The service is really friendly and attentive. Nicely furnished, just rather cold in winter.

I ordered from here, got the meal deal for 1. The chicken lollipop was one of the best I've had in my life, and I lived in South India for decades. The spicy Bombay chilli chicken and pulao were both disappointing - quite bland, although the portions were quite good.

Food, ambience, service everything was quite good. We visited 2 times there throughout our stay in Edinburgh. Some of the main course dishes could be better in taste. The chaat was good there.

This place is a hit. Highly recommend. Curries especially were flavourful, well balanced, and not too oily. Kerala prawn curry & baby aubergine and potato were especially good. We also had the dal makhani and sag paneer and can't fault them either.

We orders many dishes as we were 6 persons. Majority of the dishes were not good. Naan bread is actually not a naan bread. Service was not good at all. Food is experience and not for this quality.

Cute little Indian street food place. You get more than street food though - Indian breads, rice, curries. We had pav bhaji, samosa chaat and mango lassi. All of it was yummy. Would recommend and would love to come back for more Indian.

We tried House chaat and Samosa chat. The Samosa chat was good, but the House chaat was not seasoned well. The potatoes in the house chat seemed not adequately boiled and lacked taste. The cappuccino was not good, it did not have enough cream and was too dark. The service was great and so was the ambience.

Couldn’t resist to give all 5s. We are in Edinburgh 5th time and it’s a shame we could not have found this place before. Incredible food, warm hospitality and very reasonably priced. We live in London and hard to find this combination. Here, we ordered TukTukWallah Staff Curry, Lamb Lasooni, Saag Paneer, Tulsi Chicken Tikka and Tandoori roti. Every single dish is made from scratch, fresh and authentic. Taste is very much Indian home cooked or street side authentic ones. Thanks TukTuk team.

One of the most expansive currys I have had in the WORLD, the price does not reflect the quality. Almost 3£ for a single peice of nann. Portion of streamed rice was nearly £3 and was still not enough for one person, nearly £3 for half a portion of steamed white rice. Clearly a scam.

Quality/price ratio is good. Our server was polite and attentive. I really liked the ambiance - warm and inviting. The menu offers a great variety of dishes.

The food is good but nothing exceptional, the value of both dishes and side dishes is quite abusive, with the exception of the naan which was good, the rest was not really useful at all, I left really disappointed. In the end it still came in the bill to make a donation to a cause that they don't even know how to explain the purpose of. With the value and size of the dose, the restaurant itself should definitely be making a donation.

This restaurant are incorrectly claiming that items on their menu are gluten free. They are not, they do not practice any procedures to ensure no cross contamination. It is in breach of legislation to mark an item as gluten free, unless it is fully gluten free and extra procedures are in place to ensure that there is no cross contamination. This is essential for coeliacs. Beware , this is not a safe place to eat for coeliacs or for people with any food allergies.

In with a works night out. The food was fantastic, spicy without just being loaded with chillies, the way it should be. The service was great with friendly staff giving the right amount of attention. Well laid out, comfortable seating and clean toilets. We will definetly be back!

A wonderful meal at a reasonable price, tasty popadoms and dips to start then great chicken lollipops and other delicious dishes. Would recommend this place for nice staff and good vibes. Bring your own booze from the Tesco round the corner.

The food was good in flavor. What made it even better was the price. The serveuse (waitress) was incredibly accommodating and went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable and happy with our meal. If you're craving Indian food that doesn’t break the bank, I recommend this place.!

I spend half my year in north India and am usually disappointed in Indian restaurants in UK - to the extent I never go. Decided to take a chance on Tuk Tuk as prices are really good. I am vegan and the saag tofu and tandoori roti were AMAZING. Really authentic north Indian taste. My Indian husband had pau bhaji and the bhaji was great but the only thing might be to have a slightly more authentic pau (the bread bit). Also from me: a vegan version of the dish would be much appreciated! We’ve already planned our next trip to Tuk Tuk.

Superb. Great “street food” - order lots of small dishes. It is BYOB which saves money … and Tesco is around the corner.

For me it’s one of the best curry places in town! I especially recommend the butter paneer and the garlic naan. Definitely worth coming.

Had dinner this evening, food service quick Had the cauliflower and a chicken starter, lamb curry ,chill chicken curry, chips and 2 garlic naans with 2 mint and lime drinks , plenty of garlic on the naans, all other meals tasty and drinks were refreshing came in at £50. Tables close together but to be fair you are there for the food with quck service and quick turnover.

I had a samosa chaat as a starter and chili chicken curry, garlic naan, and pilau rice as the main course. Unfortunately, I experienced food poisoning the next day. The chicken felt soggy and chewy, the pilau rice was very dry, and the garlic naan was overloaded with butter on top. The quality of the food was very poor, and it seemed like they served me frozen food that had been reheated. I regret not mentioning this to them immediately—it was my mistake. I genuinely recommend that if anyone ever feels this way, speak up instead of staying silent like I did. I’ve learned my lesson. My first experience at Tuk Tuk was a disaster. Please avoid cooking food using old gravy, adding frozen pre-cooked chicken, and simply reheating it—that’s unacceptable.

We were looking for Indian and didn’t want to break the bank after a long and tiring travel day. The food at Tuk Tuk was delicious and flavorful. The service was quick and the staff were very kind- even with our very tired preschooler who was speaking a little too loudly.

Review update: I visit Edinburgh frequently, and visited this restaurant couple of times, ignoring my past experience with how they put up charges, but this time will be my last visit. I did not check my bill before leaving and after coming back to my hotel i found that they have added 0.50 charges as ‘charity’ charges without even informing me and this not at acceptable and this puts a question mark on the intention of the hotel owners. Attached the bill for reference, just feeling i’am being fooled by this restaurant Past experience below: The food is average, small portion, they will charge you min 2.5£ for anything small you request. We found the curries to be rather sweet, not like Indian but suites to the locals.Their other branch has got better taste of the food though they say they follow the same recipe.

A little gem of a place with authentic quality of food, professional, efficient and friendly service. The Nepali girl who served me - she was very warm, cheerful, hospitable and exceptional. I was seated at the door and noticed that her service was warm and exceptional to everyone who came through the door.

This is a fantastic place to get your tastebuds treated by Indian street food. Superb spice blends with freshly prepared ingredients- highly recommended!!
