+10 points for the option of the enormous jug of lassi. The Puri Yoghurt Bombs were delicious and a must eat delectable morsel. The service was prompt and friendly - a fresh take on Indian street food (a mix of the new and the traditional). The butter chicken was also delicious!

Very disappointing delivery experience. All food was cold (heat retaining packaging might be a good idea?!), took an age to arrive (may have contributed to the lack of heat...) and was missing one of the main items which left one family member hungry and angry. Cheers!😡

I just took dal and rice here. I found the rice little under cooked (may be that’s how it’s done in Scotland) it was not soft. The dal was very less in quantity for the price! Only one person can eat it that was the quantity. The taste of the dal was good and it was properly cooked with good texture. Improvement - Quantity!!

Really good late lunch, just what we needed after climbing Arthur's Seat. Had the £12 lunch special (till 4pm). Butter chicken, lamb lasooni, samosa, lollipop chicken, two naans. Would definitely return it back in Edinburgh

An authentic and flavourful experience of Indian food in Edinburgh. We had a lot of dishes, but our favourite was the Chicken Biryani, which was extremely delicious! If you are craving for Indian flavours, you should definitely visit Tuk Tuk. Highly recommended!

Delicious Indian food served in a charming interior. Smaller portion sizes allow for a more varied meal, especially if dining in a small group, but they also increase the total cost a bit. However, the option to order a whole jug of Mango Lassi makes this place a 5/5 regardless 🥭

Food is amazing. We went to the original so many times so thought we would try the Drummond street. Food came out before the drinks and never gave us the popadoms and chutneys. Felt a bit rushed. Quality is hard to keep when expanding the operation.

We were seated very quickly even on a Friday night. Dhakshu, our waitress was very nice and gave great recognitions. I would definitely visit again next time I'm in town.

Absolutely delighted with my food experience! I had the samosa chaat, mint lime, and the Bombay chilli chicken with naan. The food was authentic, and I could truly taste a piece of home away from home. The flavors were top-notch, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Tuk Tuk to anyone craving authentic desi street food! Absolutely shocking experience. Would never order takeaway from here again. Ordered a takeaway through deliveroo and the wait time said it would be 30-60 minutes which was great, however it then changed to 90mins +, which was going to be too long. Therefore i called up the restaurant before cancelling the order to ask if we could come and pick it up ourselves instead since we were near by. I was told clearing on the phone by the manager that this wouldn’t be a problem and asked how long we would be. I told him 10 minutes and he said this was fine. On arrival to the restaurant (10 minutes later), i was then told by the same manager that we couldn’t collect the food. Both my boyfriend and myself witnessed him say on the phone that we definitely could pick it up. After both my boyfriend and i calmly asked for the food they proceeded to tell us they wouldn’t give us the food at all, and denied telling us we could ever pick it up. I was in an upset state and then the manager made a misogynistic comment to my boyfriend and made rude hand signals to imply we were crazy. After all this, we later found the delivery driver had been waiting outside the whole time and because they held back our food it ended up being cold. Completely disappointed in this experience. Awful manager.

As in some of the comments, I eat in general, and biryani in particular. It has strong spices, is spicy, and has a lot of oil. I did not like eating in this restaurant, and I was surprised by the high rating for it. The restaurant is spacious, and it is difficult for wheelchairs to enter, and children's strollers must be carried because there are stairs going down and up

Everything was so great. Came on a Thursday night at 8:00 and it was fairly empty. Staff was attentive and helpful. The food was amazing, everything was so good and flavourful. Would recommend the tuk tuk wallah staff curry and the garlic naan. And the gulab jamun. The kerala prawn moilee was also good, the tuk tuk curry was my favourite though. Would come back tomorrow just to try more things.

They got my naan order wrong but righted it as soon as I mentioned. Everything was suuuuuuuuper tasty. I’m from San Francisco, Indian is my favorite cuisine, and this was the BEST naan ive ever had!!

We ordered samosa chaat, bombay chilli chicken and hakka chilli gobi and it was amazing. The staffs were pretty helpful and were keeping the conversation and asked us if the food was nice and if everything was okay. Would recommend and surely visit again.

Came in off Arthur's Seat with my pack. They were very hospitable and great atmosphere and bright walls. Had the butter paneer and a LOT of mango Lassi. My only regret was leaving a bit on my plate! I would definitely come here again with friends.

Ordered chicken curry. It was a bowl full of boiled chicken pieces in a curry sauce. Chicken need to be marinated and cooked first. Boiled chicken pieces have no taste Service was fine

Got to be THE most authentic Indian street food I've had here in the UK. From the aromas and taste, to the bustling and vibrant atmosphere, it took me right back to the streets of Mumbai! Cherry on the top, Mohit (the manager?) was very accomodating and friendly.

Butter chicken is fire. If you order the salad, don’t mistake the pepper as a green bean. Your mouth will be on fire for a minute.

Atmosphere was fun, food was alright and not notably special due to odd flavours that were not integrated well together. I believe this was due to the larger pieces of spice added, and partially raw vegetables in the beet & onion pakora (that surprisingly came as one beet and one onion pakora). The waitress was not engaging at all and was visibly annoyed when we did not order more food ( we had 3 appies and 2 entrees for 2 people), and when paying asked “ are you tipping?” before handing over the terminal. I would pass this one up.

We managed to get a table during the busy fringe time and I have to say it was one of the best meals we have had in Edinburgh in a very long time. The food was served quickly and piping hot. The staff were very attentive and the prices quite reasonable. If I could I would just eat the beetroot bhajis all night! The butter chicken and roti were excellent as well.

Service Mikel best man. Very friendly and helpful when choosing dishes. He also has a fairly good command of the German language and is able to crack extremely funny jokes. 10/10

We found this to be expensive for very small portions. However, the low rating is mainly due to the service. They were rude and almost seemed angry with us, cross because we wanted more time to decide before ordering, whipped away the drinks menua because one of us didn't want a drink, left the table unattended for ages.

Loved both, the food and the atmosphere! There is one thing that often bothers me about Indian restaurants in the UK generally, though. One can’t have curry without a side dish or a piece of bread like naan or roti, and they tend to be quite overpriced, especially when comparing the value to the main dish and their respective prices.

Best Indian food. Quantity is less but the taste is very good. Chicken lollipops were best.

I got the dal makhni and garlic naan as take away. It was the worst dal makhani. The dal was burnt and they still packed it. If the dal was burned, they should have simply asked whether it'll take more time to cook more, or they are out of it, and asked me to substitute it with something else. Giving the burnet dal as take away is not right. It ruined the whole evening. Garlic naan was okay, but can you really eat them with burnt dal.

I went for the first time on Friday night during the Fringe. They had 45min before closing and they managed to serve up my food, my dessert and my tea at super speed. All the staff was very friendly and very kind. Great attitude. The food is actually great and the portions are sufficient. And it's all decently priced.

Miguel Rodríguez have of the finest lamb lasooni of Edinburgh and also a nice garlic naan. The service was really fast. We will come back again.

I visited the Tuk tuk Indian restaurant today and oooh man it was a good find. The staff (I didn't quite get her name - dakshani??) that served us, was really cute. 😁 Even though it was her 1st week in training she offered and suggested some great options from the menu to try. Overall, great experience. One thing I would like to mention that if you enjoy spicy food, this food place might lack those food options. I definitely felt that the food wasn't that spicy and majority of the dishes I ordered were pretty mild to taste.

I had heard about this restaurant but had never previously visited. It exceeded my expectations, as both the quality of the dishes I ordered and the efficiency and friendliness of all staff members was excellent. Will recommend to friends and will certainly return on my next visit to Edinburgh.

Service was good. But the food was sub par to OK. Small portions so you order more and eventually, the total bill is similar to a much better fine dinning restaurant e.g. Dishoom. Chili chicken, dal makhani, butter paneer, Farcha chicken were sub par. Lamb lassoni, Yellow dal, lollipop, Samosa were good.

Absolutely fantastic Indian food, served tapas style. The spicing was sublime. I went with a group of colleagues and we left the ordering to the fabulous Michael who chose us a selection of starters, the stand out option was the homemade samosa with tamarind sauce, Absolutely delicious. We had the best butter chicken I've ever had and a delicious lamb byriani. We had some pilau rice and top draw naans and selection of other curries. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, great service from the team also, who made us feel very welcome. A must when in Edinburgh
