This the second time i took my family there. Newly opened place , it was busy , got a table quickly. The service was excellent and quick, that was then , and now , still busy , extra loud . Found my self shouting my order to so someone who clearly could understand my accent. Then a really long wait for the starters. Then to get someone's attention was complete mission. I had 3 different people where our food was ! When it came it was cold , I didn't complain . I just eat it . Service terrible and slow .

Well, I was bought their big blue book for Xmas so the next time in Edinburgh had to book a visit. Slightly late arriving as we got lost but arrived and were quickly shown up the stairs - quite daunting when you had been in your feet all day - to the dining room. It was packed but gave off a great vibe. Our Bulgarian waiter - sorry, but didn’t get his name - was excellently thorough in explaining the menu in detail . Drinks of Kingfiaher beer arrived, suitably chilled, ahead of starters of Amritsiri fish and house chaat. Both were outstanding. A shared min of Goan fish curry, pilau rice and. Plain naan bread swiftly followed. Again, hot and fresh and very tasty. Time taken to finish a second beer apiece and watch the room go by. All in all, a wonderfully tasty experience with quite brilliant staff. Cost was par at £85 for two. Now to cook at home some of the recipes in the book.

Indian breakfast - had me curious! I had to try and wasn’t disappointed. It was an amazing experience to sit overlooking the gorgeous St Andrew Square, eating amazing food and service and great ambience

We can e here last year and had an excellent experience. Today, we went back and had the same great food and superb serve. It was yet another great experience nd thank you.

I would recommend this place to anyone as the food, setting and service is second to none. Since it was my birthday, I was surprised with a lovely chocolate cake and ice cream with a little candle on top by our lovely waiter. I would definitely coming back very soon. Thanks for the lovely experience.

Me and my friends tried a variety of dishes—Chicken Tikka, Jackfruit Biryani, Rumali Roti, Vada Paav, and Bhel. The Vada Paav and Bhel were genuinely delicious and stood out. As South Indians, though, the rest felt pretty usual to us—decent but nothing extraordinary. Overall, not quite worth the hype in our opinion, but definitely a great experience for those new to these flavors.

Toska (the waitress assigned to us) offered us one of the best seats of the restaurant and I found it very thoughtful that they asked us if we have any allergies. Pav bhaji and chocolate masala chai were the show stoppers, rest of the dishes were okay.

Dishoom was wonderful as always! We had it in London and this was just as enjoyable. Finally got to try breakfast, and it was so worth it! Loved the Wrestler Roll and the Oat Chai! Ira was wonderful!! She helped us both times we went for breakfast and made our experience even better!!

Having previously had dinner in dishoom London I wondered if another location would live to the hype. The answer is YES! I had booked ahead for a special occasion, as table reservations are possible before 5pm. Staff were so helpful and could not have done enough. Food was so so good. I was too busy enjoying the food to take pics🤣

Super restaurant in renovated old store with lots of period features - excellent food and service - and if you have any allergies then their info sheets are really detailed. And finally the toilets are a blast from the past ! Well worth a visit. Great view of St Andrews Square.

Delicious Indian food. The restaurant is so good that there are queues outside and entire Indian families come to eat there. Good inclusive atmosphere, as loud as if you were eating in Bombay, relaxed.

Great meal to start our day in Edinburgh. We ordered the black daal, sali boti, chicken ruby, masala paratha, and cheese naan. Everything was delicious, rich, and full of flavor. The house chai is a must get - it’s warming and full of spices. Way better than anything I’ve received from a cafe. Service is good and waiters are super friendly.

Excellent lunchtime meal with excellent service. 5 of us enjoyed a variety of small / large plates with superb flavours in all the dishes! The Chilli Chicken & the Ruby Curry were amazing 😋

I’ve been to Dishoom many times in London but have to say this experience in Edinburgh was exceptional. Service and food were absolutely outstanding!!

Started off really nice with the sweet potato starter and fish starter. Wasn't fond of the poppadoms and then the mains were served without any sauce, which I wasn't expecting. Literally 4 pieces of paneer on a plate sprinkled with pomegranate and a plate of chicken. We had ordered rice to go along with it because obviously thought it would be served as a curry, so very dry but luckily had some dips left from the pickle tray. 12.5% service charge also automatically added which I don't like - service was fine but it's a fast, high turnover kind of place, you're in and out, therefore doesn't warrant that high a tip in my opinion. Over £80 for two people and was the first time I've ever left an Indian restaurant after poppadoms, starter, main & sundries and still feeling hungry. Atmosphere very loud which some might enjoy but not really my cup of tea.

While exploring the city, we popped into Dishoom expecting a wait—but to our delight, we were seated right away (weekday lunch perk!). Our server was wonderful, offering great recommendations that did not disappoint. The food arrived quickly, and every bite was absolutely delicious. A fantastic experience from start to finish!

Third visit to Edinburgh’s outlet, counter staff (not in charge of asking for orders) lacks a lil of the sincerity that the other outlets in London have, it’s a hit and miss here. The wait staff/ servers are amazing as usual. However on the whole still way better than other establishments!

Dougal was outstanding from start to finish and was without question the most helpful server/waiter of our experience up here in Scotland. The food was incredible also. We may need to rethink ordering the chilli chicken for next time though as although it was incredible….. it was very very spicy 🤣

A food hall style dining experience where once your order is taken, the service disappears. Very expensive for a mediocre fusion of Indian and English.

The food is very delicious and the price is reasonable. Honestly, it is a beautiful experience and the staff are very cooperative, especially Kasha, who has great manners.

Busy but rapid fire service. Decent tasting food. Service is fast on food. Felt appetizers should be removed be for main courses. Multiple managers make sure water and any gaps in service are covered though. Really professional place.

Great breakfast at Dishoom! Received the Big Bombay breakfast, a little bit of everything. Every bite was delicious. Very filling, should be everything needed to explore Edinburgh for the day.

Spirit of India in Scotland, that's the feeling here. Excellent cuisine, the best of the Indian fare that you get here. Taste wise, almost close to what you get in India. The service staff are really cordial and helpful, and though not Indians, have excellent knowledge of the Indian food being served here. The unlimited refill of Chai is a revelation.

Incredible food and staff, big portions for very reasonable prices. Absolutely worth the queues and reputation.
