They have the best momos ever. Would highly recommend the jhol momos and chilli momos. I tend to get the chow mein with a side of momos. Big portions, extremely filling, I often end up with leftovers - which I'm more happy for!

I've been for the first time to Momo Nepalese Kitchen this week and it was absolutely amazing ! We tried very authentic homemade Nepalese food, kindly recommended by Baba. It was the first time for us trying Momo, a curry, baba rice, cheese/garlic naan and more. Everything was flavourful and there is a lot of food for not a crazy expensive price like you can find in other places. The staff is very kind, helpful, always trying to accommodate your taste and level of spice ! I cannot recommend this place enough!

Surprised by the good reviews. Greasy curry, burnt poppadoms and 'mixed veg' constitutes a bag of frozen vegetables (peas green beans and cubed carrots) from Iceland. Pasanda was very sweet, no depth of flavour. Mint sauce bought for poppadoms was fluorescent green. Will not be ordering from here again. The Nepali dishes (vegan Momo starter) faired better. Disappointed

The food taste’s amazing in here if you like indo-nepalese food. These guys make the best food in Edinburgh. And the Momo’s, mate I’m not kidding it’s the ultimate Momo’s you can ever eat. If you don’t believe me try once, you’ll definitely like it

Have enjoyed takeout from here several times. Maybe tonight was just a one off, but not going to spend money again to find out. Total waste of £. Momos as ever were good, but not the usual quality. A lot of food was so spicy, it was inedible. I like my spice, but what I ate gave me stomach ache. Pretty much all the chowmein went in the bin. The meat in the buffalo street food was dry, hard, and also inedible. A real disappointment 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Had the mushroom and peas rice and veg momo (10 piece) here. Nothing great, in fact there were no mushrooms in the rice while the momos were stale. Based on food quality and portion size, the rice at £4 and momo at £8 is largely overpriced. On top of this, the one guy that did everything from taking the order to billing was arrogant and rude asf. Final verdict: Avoid unless you cannot tolerate your hunger.

The menu has an extensive variety of options, and everything we tried was great, bit spicy for us.

The order took more than 1.5 hours and still it didn’t got delivered at my place. The delivery showed it’s confirmed as the restaurant gave them my phone number end digits to put as the code and the driver marked it as completed. And been long enough, money got deducted from my account- I haven’t received any food and just eat customer service is awful.

Really flavoursome and value for money. Spicy though! Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

The food was delicious, after soo long had authentic Nepalese food, chowmin, chicken momo and the chilli chicken curry was mouthwatering. Loved it ! The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Would 100% recommend.

I had been craving buffalo momo for a long time and was lucky to find a place that serves it during my trip to Edinburgh. Each dish we tried had an authentic Nepalese taste. The homely vibe and nostalgic flavors made the experience truly special.

I recently ordered , and it was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had. First, the food arrived drenched in oil—so much that it was hard to even taste the actual dish underneath. The flavors were completely overshadowed by the excessive grease, making the meal almost inedible. Every bite felt heavy and left a greasy aftertaste. To make matters worse, when I called the restaurant to give feedback, the person on the phone was incredibly dismissive. Instead of addressing my concerns or offering a solution. The entire interaction was unprofessional and frustrating, which only added to my disappointment with the food. Overall, between the poor quality of the meal and the bad customer service, I won’t be ordering from here again.

Came from Portsmouth to visit Edinburgh, saw this place on uber eats and thought to give it a go, we ordered veg chowmein, kothey momos and nauni masala curry. Enjoyed momos with the dip alongside and veg chowmein was desi style with perfect spices and the nauni masala was to die for. Enjoyed every bit of it. Had a chat with one of the owners, lovely people and lovely place. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone!!!!!

Very very good food. Tried Dal Tadka and Haravara Chicken Tarkari and both were delivered hot (via Deliveroo). Great taste and generous quantity! PS: This is coming from an Indian :)

We visited this restaurant by chance today, as our hotel is nearby. The food was absolutely delicious! We were a bit overwhelmed by the menu but the staff was super nice and they explained everything to us and gave us some recommendations. We went with the Buffalo Momo (highly recommended!), chowmein chicken and lamb tikka. The food was freshly prepared and really tasty. We can’t wait to try other dishes!!

Absolutely amazing food and service. I had to order for a big group on Saturday for 2pm and the owner was generous enough to accommodate us even though they open at 5pm. It was very easy to communicate and the order was completed accurately and very timely. 10/10 would recommend and would order again!

Wir sind durch Zufall dorthin geraten, weil das Restaurant, in dem wir essen wollten, keinen Platz mehr hatte. Die meisten lassen sich das Essen von dort liefern, aber wir haben uns dort hingesetzt und waren total begeistert von dem Essen. Ich habe die Spezialität des Hauses, das Momo Essen genommen und fand es unglaublich lecker und frisch zubereitet. Nun sitze ich wieder in Deutschland und finde es total schade, dass ich dort nicht mal eben bestellen könnte. Ich würde es garantiert machen und kann es nur wärmstens weiter empfehlen. Auch die Bedienung war super nett.

We had arrived in Edinburgh and were famished. Saw this beautiful Momo place nearby. What a lovely atmosphere! The food was amazing. We ordered a buff momo and chicken biryani which was out of the world. Thank you for the amazing food!!

Visited this restaurant for the first time today and was blown away by the quality of both the service and the food. I didn’t really know what I wanted and the gentleman at the counter gave me lots of advice and recommendations. I ended up going for the Kothey Momo, Namche with Chicken (curry) and a side of egg rice. They even altered the spice level for my curry! Everything was super flavoursome and fresh. I can’t actually describe the flavour of the curry, but it was so unique and comforting with plenty of chicken. Whilst waiting on my order I was given a complimentary cup of chai tea which really tied this whole experience together. I will definitely be going back, and can’t wait to try other items!

Never got to try the food as they took an order on Uber Eats and then cancelled it half an hour later, hours before they’re due to close. If you can’t handle delivery apps don’t have them instead of messing customers around.

Extremely disappointed. Placed an order through Uber Eats, order seemed to be confirmed and waited around half an hour (expected wait time) for the order to then be cancelled as the restaurant was busy. This is the second time I’ve tried to make an order and for it to be cancelled due to a busy period, and I won’t be trying again. Edit: I was later contacted by Uber Eats stating that the restaurant would like me to re-order the same evening if possible as they now have capacity, after we had already taken business elsewhere. Surely this is a poor practice?

Had a meal in here this evening, wish I had came in a long time ago but I thought it was just a takeaway, I asked the guy if I could sit in and he said yes, they have 2 tables and a bar area that can sit 3 on stools. The food was lovely and the staff were all very friendly, the place must be highly regarded locally as the place was busy and the other table for 2 ended up sitting in and ordered 3 meals to share, and 2 ladies sat in at the bar stools and had a sit in meal. Keep up the good food and service, thank you.

Fantastic quality and decent value as well, we tried most of the momo varieties and they were all very tasty. Bindi (okra) was huge and saucy for a side portion, and the Choila chicken was tender white meat in flavourful sauce. Everything felt almost homemade! Definitely a repeat performance.

A very salty biryani with pre-prepared carrots. peas and sweet corn. Dry reheated Perwari naan. Chilli paneer with a few “squeaky” rubbery paneer. Nothing like as good as it was a few years ago. New owners? Really poor.

It’s a small store, several seats, five of us enjoyed some amazing foods. Fresh and very delicious, highly recommend!

This restaurant experience was incredible! The staff was so nice and the food was amazing. It was so authentic and smelled and tasted immaculate. The food may take a bit to get there but thats how you known its fresh. Its a slightly small restaurant but its very reasonable and definitely below average for price.

Tiny little shop with savoury dishes! I went there to have some vegetarian momos, and ended up ordering another plate plus couple of main courses! 😄 The food is delicious, and the prices are great too! I also wanted to try their Noodles but sadly couldn’t due to less time in Edinburgh! Maybe next time 😁 I’d highly recommend Dal tadka!!

Wee little place that surprises you with its bombastic flavours and great prices! We ordered in three sets, against our plans, because we couldn't get enough. Great momos, thukpa and naan and dal tadka!

Amazing food and service, we didn’t want too much spice in our food and they altered it accordingly. I ordered the c momo, it was delicious! Its a takeout restaurant but there are a few seats to dine in. Prices ade reasonable and I love that they had many vegetarian options. Complimentary tea is another great thing about this place, I will definitely order again. There is also a 15% discount if you order directly from the restaurant.

Have ordered from here a few times and it never fails to disappoint. Really like the vegetable Momos and Bhindi Bhaji. Last night we ordered to collect and a part of the order was missing. They went the extra mile to call and apologise and personally delivered the remainder of the order. Very impressed they went the extra mile to ensure we got our Friday night dinner!

This place's food is amazing! It also very cheap and the owner is such a nice host. It is a bit small to dine in but it does accommodate max 8 people dinning in at one time (it is kinda a take away but they have some seats and tables). But that should not scare you away as the food and hospitality more than makes up for the small size... I highly recommend the place and try the momos, even if you just do take away...

Very tasty food, but far too much ghee/oil in it for my liking. If you guys can cut down on the ghee/oil in the take aways then I will use you regularly. Friendly fast service. Keep up the good work but siphon off the ghee/oil, and you will get 5 stars from me.

Randomly stumbled upon this gem after hiking Arthur's Seat. Tried the veg cMomo, veg chowmein and kothey chicken momos. Each dish was absolutely delicious! I've never had momos as good as these outside of India and I'm glad we took a chance on this. Would gladly recommend this place if you're on the hunt for some excellent Nepalese or Indo-chinese food.

The food is awesome - delicious and flavoursome, especially the momos. They have a large menu, lots to choose from, and vegetarian / vegan options too. The owner and staff are lovely. 100% recommend.

Lamb was not freshly cooked and naan bread was very rubbery. Won't be using again.

Insanely oily with a centimetre or more of oil covering everything. Once that was mainly removed the lamb meat was inedibly tough. Second time ordering here and now I wouldn’t recommend.
