WARNING!. Outdated menu prices, overpriced and underwhelming!. Expect to pay £35 pp for a small amount of food excluding alcoholic!. Beware of fake reviews! Ive been here twice for a takeaway and it was pretty good,albeit with above average prices and decent enough food. However I dined in and apart from the atmosphere, I was disappointed with everything else. First of all,the menu on their website is not up to date so add at least 2 to 3 pounds on top of the prices on there. So therefore expect to pay close to 17 pounds for a tiny main course that is half the size of a takeaway sized portion,which consists of like 6 pieces of meat!. You still need to get rice,that will cost you 5 quid, starters are at typically 8 quid(avoid the samosas at all cost as they they are tiny). nan bread is close to a fiver,poppadoms will cost you 2 to 3 pounds. The rice is a tiny portion,less than a ready meal.the chilli garlic lamb i had was half the portion size of a standard sized takeaway tray.the chicken pakora was ok but nothing to write home about about. All in all,thats like 35 to 40 quid per head for a very average meal.i wouldn't bother dining in again for sure as that's very poor value for money,in fact it's safe to call this an expensive waste of money. id rather buy an Indian ready meal of virtually the same quality,for less than a tenner than to dine here again. This place must be making huge profits by serving tiny portions at ridiculous prices or paying their staff next to nothing. Only come here if you want to waste money and feel ripped off!. Complete waste of time and money,places like these should be shut down.

My partner and I eat at The Cove regularly and enjoy it immensely every time! We took friends last night and they loved it too. Great food, lovely staff, comfortable environment. Well worth a visit!

A local friend took me to the restaurant and I would love to return. The food was amazing, the price was reasonable and the service was top notch. I went for the tandoori king prawns, which were fresh and well seasoned. We were all pleased with our meals.

Parece más una agencia inmobiliaria desde el exterior, pero es un lugar agradable con techos altos y parece como si hubiera sido recién renovado. Precios estándar, £ 9. 75 por mis madras de cordero y 3 libras. 95 por un keema naan. El cordero era de calidad decente y muy sabroso. La salsa en sí era un poco decepcionante... era un poco aceitosa (VER FOTO) hasta el punto de quitarle el sabor a madras y probar el aceite picante. La guarnición de pandeo era solo pequeña pero sabía fresca. Bonitos tipos que trabajan allí, me siguieron hasta la puerta principal y me la abrieron cuando me fui.

Spur of the moment decision to eat out and decided to support local business. We were not disappointed! Excellent food, atmosphere and attentive service. Thoroughly recommend a visit to this wonderful restaurant. Lamb Tikka Kebab and Mushroom rice. Superb!

5 of us for a family meal in the lovely local curry house. Friendly service and flavourful food. A few additional menu options on top of the usual curry favorites as well. We will return.

First time in Edinburgh, was dying for a curry stumbled up on the cove. Really enjoyed my experience, the food was delicious the only downside was the portion size especially with how much we are charged for each curry. The service was excellent, the waiters were very attentive and caring. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, the design the colours. I just want to say a big thank you for looking after us. Definitely recommend!!

Great place lovly staff and top food

17 of us dined here on Thursday evening. Children aged 6+ and adults. We were staying at the Edinburgh caravan club site which was only 10 minutes away and about £8 in a Uber. The food and service was excellent. Probably the best Indian meal I’ve ever had. It was so good we came back on the Saturday night. Would absolutely visit again if were ever near in the future.

Whilst away this weekend, we went back a second time as the food was so lovely and fresh tasting. Excellent restaurant, highly recommend 👌

Last minute booking for large group, really welcoming. All 17 had a great meal.

Collected a takeaway, it was ready quickly and the staff were polite. The curry was bland, meat was dry, bread was hard and dense, the poppadoms tasted like they were from a packet. Everything was swimming in ghee. Edible and didn’t make us poorly, but not too far away from a jar sauce curry. Maybe the restaurant had an off night as the rest of the reviews look good but I wouldn’t recommend!

This was a really top notch Indian Restaurant experience. The food was brilliant and they were also very diligent on the social distancing which made for a relaxed and happy dining experience! We will return soon for sure.

What a lovely restaurant! Very refreshing to find an Indian with such understated elegant decor, plus the food was absolutely delicious, and so fresh and well-presented. The staff were very attentive and helpful too. Would highly recommend a visit to The Cove. If we didn’t live so far away (we were visiting Edinburgh whilst on holiday) it would definitely be a regular favourite restaurant of ours!

We came from out of town. It was recommended by a guy in the street. As we were looking for food. it was beautiful tasty hot food, made as we waited in the car .bought out to us by the very helpful friendly staff. Would recommended to everyone.

Absolutely cracking place. Found it by accident, but we will be back! The food was fantastic, both the lamb and chicken were tender. Possibly the nicest onion bhaji I've ever eaten. The dishes were a good size. Service was really good, that right level of there when you need them, polite as you would expect but not crawly - spot on. Food came quickly, which is a bonus when you had a kid with little patience! Nice atmosphere, well maintained. Quite a few people in while we were there but didn't feel crowded or too noisy. All in, get in and have a fantastic meal!

Excellent food and services in this side of the town. We were staying at Courtyard E West and was concerned that we might not find decent restaurant … the Cove turned out to be an excellent choice.

We live in Edinburgh but were staying out of town post-Murrayfield rugby, so we ordered from the car and by the time we reached The Cove, our takeaway was ready. I was met by lovely staff and the dine-in experience, with white tablecloths looked great. The door was even held for me as I left - and most importantly the food was absolutely delicious! We can highly recommend and we will be back - thank you 👏

Outstanding local Indian/Bangladeshi Restaurant. We were staying up the road at the Holiday Inn Express, they recommend the restaurant and what an excellent recommendation. Food was delicious, service outstanding and a very smartly decorated restaurant. Five stars from us.

A very pleasant 2hrs with our old friends who live in Edinburgh. Very enjoyable in a very pleasant atmosphere. Allowed to take our time over our meal with no rush to vacate our table. Highly recommend.

Had amazing dinner at The Cove two days in a row during our stay at Edinburgh. We were staying at the Holiday Inn Express City West and given that we had our parents on the trip, we were searching for a good Indian food place this part of town. We saw that The Cove is roughly half a mile away and decided to try it out. What strikes you first about The Cove is the nice and warm nature of the staff. Almost all of them hail from Bangladesh and given our family's connections to that part of Bengal, we bonded immediately. We were initially a bit skeptical about the food but it turned out to be a delicious meal and everyone on the table - my father (who prefers non vegetarian), myself (who prefers egg based meals) and my wife and son (who prefer vegan) liked whatever was served. The atmosphere was nice, warm and cosy and a brilliant setting as the light faded outside at the end of the day! To all Indians and Bangladeshis who visit Edinburgh, we would recommend The Cove. Of course, when we visit again, we will come back for sure!

We came here on a whim after a long day of travel and were blown away by the amazing food and great service. Between six people, we were able to try so much and I don't know if I can pick a favorite dish. The flavors were amazing, everything was so fresh, and we walked away full but already wanting more.

Personally I feel food is not good. Chicken test very bad it seems Chicken frozen from very long time and directly serve us. Not recommended

Tried this Indian a few years ago and at the time was good. Thought would try again for a change of usual Indian we go too. Starters were poor. Chicken pakora the batter was hard and cheap chicken used just didn't enjoy it. The other starter was meant to be a chicken kebab but was more like just 2 pieces of chicken tikka.. Next disaster is the service - when the main courses arrived the waiter placed 2 main courses next to mu wife and then proceeded to place the nan next to me. I told him the main course is mine not both for my wife and he just walked off. Very poor. Overall, very poor expensive meal and cheap meat used in dishes. Main course was not good with cress all over my dish. Won't be back and will stick to my usual fantastic Indian nearby.

What a great place to eat. The restaurant is smart, clean and well set out. The food was outstandingly good and delicious. The ambience was great and also quiet even though there was a large group eating there. Service was excellent without being intrusive. Prices on our view are very reasonable. Would highly recommend this for a nice meal in nice surroundings.

Whilst staying on the outskirts of Edinburgh we were recommended this restaurant by our hotel as being the only place within walking distance. Very good service, readily welcomed without a reservation. Attentive (but not overly) service. Drinks (1 and a half pints of Kingfisher and a half of lime and soda). Ridiculously expensive poppadoms and pickles. All fine. Very generous starters. 3 mains , 2 naan. Quality all very good! A bill of £90 for 3 people. Good food but felt absolutely robbed! 😢

First time visit following recommendations. Have been fortunate to eat at a multitude of Bangladeshi restaurants across the Uk; from the Michelin starred Opheem in central Birmingham to the smaller 20 cover restaurants in Devon. Most push for modern dining and tend to forget tradition deeming the food antiquated. Am proud to say The Cove has not forgotten its Bangladeshi roots and if anything the food is a celebration of what real Bengali food is and should be. The chicken was outstanding and the depth of taste is evident. Flavours are layered and the fresh spices come through with every bite. The lamb was tender reminded of how my mum used to cook the family lamb curry. All in all if you want ‘real’ Bengali food visit the The Cove. Minimal pomp; just quality home style Bengali’s food.

This is my go to Indian Restaurant. The place is immaculate with pristine tablecloths and dining here is a first class experience. Staff are attentive and can't do enough for you. They even gave my daughter a birthday cake at the end of our meal. Thank You 😊

Ordered a takeaway, chicken pathia , chicken jalffrezi and a Nan bread, was the worse takeaway I’ve ever had, both chicken dishes were so bland and the bread was so dry. Very disappointing and not cheap to end up in the bin!

Disappointed it’s was all very bland, nothing had any spice, starters was still frozen in the middle and all very expensive for what it was. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re not a fan of curry.

We ate at the Cove on the last evening of our short break in Edinburgh. It was quite quiet when we visited but the didn't detract from the atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive and the menu had a great selection of classic dishes. We didn't order a starter but our waiter recommended the pakora, so we took his word and added this to our order. I was a little confused when Onion Bhaji arrived. I assumed I had misunderstood, and have to say they were very nice. Our mains arrived in good time and were equally lovely. Our bill arrived, I gave a healthy tip and we left happy. On return to our room I noticed I had been charged for chicken Pakora and not Onion Bhaji or even Vegetable Pakora. I am sure this was just an innocent error. I would easily recommend visiting the Cove as the food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Just thoroughly check your bill before leaving!

I have recently started using this restaurant and can only say that it is one of the best indian restaurants I have patronised. I have only used it for takeaways, and can honestly say the food I have had from The Cove is of a very high quality, well cooked and presented. In addition, the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. Food ordered for collection has always been ready, Very satisfied with them.

Have dined here a few time but decided to try a take away. Was just as nice as the dine in experience.

We use this excellent little Indian restaurant quite often, maybe once a month. The service is neither too slow nor too quick. The food is very tasty and the beer on offer matches it well. There is some sound absorbing material in place so the conversation is easily heard. It's quite busy, much quieter mid-week.
