Having driven past this restaurant for years we decided to give it a go, and we were not disappointed. The food was very nice and great choice of menu although with only option to purchase drinks it was a little pricey. The dishes were all good and the starters were the 'gem' with everyone enjoying a delicious starter. We will definitely return to this restaurant for special occasions but not for a 'cheap curry' with friends. The food is worth that little bit extra on the bill but not on a regular basis.

Chutney Indian Restaurant Sutton Coldfield First time at Chutney’s with three friends and a very good evening it was too. (Formerly called Ariana) We started at 5.30pm on a Monday evening and had poppadum’s with chutney, followed by vegetable palak, samosa’s and lamb kebabs. The mains included tasty machli salmon, chicken jalfrezi, Rajasthani chicken, an excellent Kukkar Marhani (chicken in yoghurt and tangy honey sauce) & a chicken & chips. With rice and naan bread. For deserts there were three lovely fantastica (had to wait some minutes whilst they defrosted) and a Ferrero Rocha ice cream. We had a bottle of the house rose wine which has low alcohol content at 5.5% and a coke. The service was good and knowledgeable and the bill for the five of us came to £110.00. They also have a meal deal of £11.95 between Sundays to Thursdays. We finished at 8pm and it is worth noting that we had parked over in the Tesco car park and walked across to the restaurant, and there is 3 hours free parking before your car would be recorded on the cameras. I have been visiting this restaurant for years, and also the previous incarnation which was on the Robin Hood Island... When we were all young. The faces may have gotten older, but the service, quality of food, and location are still as good. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Will cook as per your request if required. If you haven't been.yiu are definitely missing out.. Thank you as always Kababish.. 🫶

We recently decided to give Maharajah Indian Takeaway in Boldmere a try, and overall, it was a decent experience, especially for the price. Here’s the breakdown: Poppadoms: Fresh and crisp, but they missed the mark on condiments. No mango chutney, which was disappointing. There was plenty of mint sauce and salad. Chicken Tikka Masala: A hit with the kids. Rich flavour, good portion, and satisfying. Other Dishes: Average. While the flavours were decent, some dishes were a bit watery and lacked the depth you’d expect. Lamb Bhuna: One of the better dishes. Good amount of spinach and garlic, well-balanced overall. Naan: Good quality, though again, a little sweetness would have elevated it. The real standout here is the value. At around £7 per curry and a 10% discount for collection, it’s hard to argue with the pricing. For what you pay, the quality is respectable, but don’t go expecting top-tier Indian cuisine. Rating: • Food: 7/10 • Value: 8/10 If you’re after a budget-friendly curry night, Maharaja fits the bill, but don’t expect all the bells and whistles.

The curry was the worst I've ever eaten in my entire life. Ever. I adore curry and I couldn't finish this one and I've never done that before with a curry. It tasted like the chef had phoned in sick and the manager had no one else to replace him and he gave it a go at chefing himself despite never never touched a saucepan in his life. The curry had raw peppers in and I could taste raw spice that I think may have been thrown in last minute and hadn't had a chance to cook. It tasted absolutely horrendous. I'd have complained about it, but didn't want to make a fuss. The rice was also not so nice. An odd combination of ingredients that just didn't blend togetherin the final dish. I left most of that, too. The dips with the poppadom starter were bland and the onions in it tasted like they were yesterday's and the mint yoghurt lacked the mint. I don't believe the chef here has heen to culinary school and needs replacing ASAP. The positives - Lovely soft padded booths to sit in, along the windows, if you can get one. Warm room. Attentive, professional and polite staff. You can order alcohol there or bring your own. This place isn't suitable for a lot of disabled people, as there is a long flight of stairs to walk up to get to the restaurant. I would never eat here again. Worst tasting Indian restart I've ever been to. Tip for the manager - get a decent chef and you'll be one of the best Indian restaurants in Boldmere.

Best curry house in Boldmere! Best Balti I’ve ever had, best Nan in the world, so much choice and staff are lovely. Highly recommend, both restaurant and takeaway. 10/10
