Very good food and very nice staff 👌

My friend and I go there for a curry once a month.The atmosphere is lovely in there and the curry delicious.

Shaban is the perfect place to come if your recovering from a menty-b. The staff all understood the assignment and slayed. The chicken tikka served main character energy. Whether your coming in a group or in a couple, Shaban is a vibe, it gives relaxation, it gives zen.

Visited Shaban with family for my husband's birthday. Staff wee extremely attentive, friendly and polite. The food was fresh and very tasty, would definitely visit again.

Food is excellent and staff and service make you very welcome more than a customer make you feel like family

We came here for a reunion meal to mark 20 years since we went as a group to visit Goa in India, a chatty happy vibrant party of 10 of us, the food was great, the service was good, and it was great value for money. The company was amazing and we decided to swap places in between courses so we could talk to different friends as we sat and ate, to ensure that we all got chance to talk together on our long table.

Fantastic gem of a curry house. Proper 'traditional' old school flavours. Everything and I mean everything was done perfectly from starters to mains. Curries were served on a hot plate (not many left that bother nowadays). We tried a few different curries and each one tasted delicious and different (which sounds obvious but many so called Indian restaurants don't seem to be able to master this). The Shaslick starters were the best I've ever had- meat was so tender and flavours were perfectly balanced without the need for aggressive spice). The egg fried fried again was superb- properly done old school style not the nonsense pilau with a bit of egg thrown in! Nothing was overly spiced but everything was spot on and I'd love to come again. Staff were friendly and attentive. Surroundings were clean but nothing outstanding. It was a warm day and thankfully we were sat near the air conditioning that was clearly making a different. Toilets were spotless. All in all this is a proper 'curry house' with a proper chef and not your modern Indian restaurant that seems to have taken over. Enjoy these eateries while you can as sadly a lot will disappear over time.

Haven’t been in a few years, but visited with a friend this evening and the customer service was exceptional! Every single member of staff worked so hard and were so warm and welcoming for a busy Thursday night. Food hot and tasty too

Traditional Indian restaurant, with a good range of dishes. The staff were able to cook a specific dish to order. Bring your own drinks and a mint with your bill. You may need to book as it can get busy in the evenings.

Always delightful. Been going for years since opening as “cafe garden” The customer service is as excellent as the food.

Ordered at 19.50 and at 21.00 called to see where our order was. Man on phone didn’t even ask what address. Shouted at me then shouted 5 minutes and put phone down. We eat in and are good customers. Still waiting for the 5 minutes more with no sign of delivery. Rude, unreliable and mediocre food. Don’t bother.

Ate here 16/03/24 table for 2. After wanting 'indian cuisine' this place states thats what they serve across there website and menu. We ordered the sharing platter starter My 8 year old daughter would of finished it herself, it consisted of 2 tiny pieces of chicken/lamb tikka, 1 tandoori chicken leg snapped in half and what was ment to be a sheek kebab however it was ridiculously bland. Really not value for money at all. Mains were lamb balti and lamb saag with a pilau rice and plain naan. What we recieved was actually shocking. None of the dishes had any flavour. The meat was that tough it couldnt be cut. You couldnt even tell what meat it was it just looked brown. No one asked us how our food was until it was very apparant that we had sat for so long with the food just sat in front of us, we explained our issues however the server made out like he couldnt understand us. Its very clear this was not indian cuisine its Bangladesh cuisine, if you know about your different cuisines then please do not attempt to go here thinking you will recieve indian. The atmosphere was nul. Over all i am extremely disappointed. I would definitely not recommend this place and i for sure will not return.

Came here for the 1st time tonight with several friends and we all loved it! Food was wonderful, staff were very friendly and pleasant, clean and tidy inside will definitely be coming back! Thank you for a lovely evening!

Old school but well maintained curry house. Very enjoyable, we shared a Chicken Jalfrezi and a chicken dish, whose name I forget. It was spicy chicken tikka with lentils. Both were quite hot and tasty. Friendly accomodating service, and cheap too. Unlicensed, so take your own drinks or go across the road to the off licence.

Its a very welcoming place. Hard to not notice that when you get in there and the staff look to seat you ( busy weekends so book) and you see whole families and groups that seem as comfortable as if it were a family event. If that seems too twee then just try the place. The service is great. Polite, very smart staff. The main event doesn't disappoint. I have yet to have a bad,dodgy or less than very good meal. Price wise its on a par with pretty much any restaurant. Its key is its staff,its quality food and its very relaxed atmosphere. The people who go get it. Its why they go. No alcohol. There is an off licence a few yards away and a cash point.

Our go to curry place for eat in or delivery. The food is always delicious & staff look after us very well. Chicken pakora are highly recommended & chicken madras is awesome. Manager is very welcoming & nothing is too much trouble.

Once again a great meal, the manager makes this place absolutely perfect 👌 nothings never to much trouble.

This might be the last time we visit the sublime Shaban, as we probably won’t have a reason to be in Boldmere in the future. We have visited several times and without fail have always had a delicious meal. The staff are fabulous, so friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive and I particularly appreciate the clear labelling regarding gluten. The relishes served with poppadums are gorgeous. Fish platter is yummy, and a tawa is my go-to favourite. Thank you to all the wonderful staff …. It would be a 180 mile round trip, but I might have to come back!

A friend introduced me to Shaban last year and we're now into double figures for the amount of times we've visited. The Manager and his team are so professional and welcoming - making everyone feel a valued guest. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend it - we love it here.

Once again a great evening, atmosphere 👌 staff exceptional , food was better than ever tonight. We've booked in for Christmas and can't wait to visit again. The manager is fabulous and always makes us smile.

The food is always good here. That’s not in doubt. The problem is the overbooking and the serial overcharging on the bill. The last two times we’ve visited with friends we have been stuck on a table suitable for 3 at most, right at the door, so for most of the night you’re trying to have a conversation round a pillar and with people standing behind you at the door waiting for a table. The last two visits have also seen our bill being incorrect. The first time by £12, where two main courses which were £11 was added up as £17 (because the bill was a scrawl) and the next by £15 because we were charged for starters we didn’t have. Having spoken to some friends who used to be regulars there it seems it’s a frequent happening. It’s a shame because the food is really nice

We would normally rate 5/5 - we have visited regularly for years - shocked by the recent food hygiene rating - we have had brilliant service over the years and excellent food- just can’t understand how the hygiene rating has gone from 5 star to zero stars but it is very worrying

Hygiene rating is ZERO! Keep an eye on the bill as they will take more if they can. Shame as amazingly the food tastes good. Won't be visiting here again though if it's that filthy.

We went in on the spur of the moment as we were passing on a Sunday evening around 7.00pm not really expecting a few empty tables as I know this place is always busy. Food was excellent, staff very attentive & lovely atmosphere. Such a shame that when the bill finally arrived after asking 3 times for it to be charged £3.25 for a glass of flat Coke & we had 2 was shocking, then to top it off I’m so glad my husband will not pay contactless the amount on the card machine was showing £97.67!!!! Meal for 2, obviously should have been £37.67.

Went this evening and got to say it's the best north indian garlic chilli chicken I have tasted place was very busy and price was good will be back.

Midweek meet up with friends, great value, efficient, friendly waiters. Restaurant was full, but found a table easily. The owner comes round and checks that everything is OK with everyone personally.

This is the best restaurant in boldmere, outstanding customer service and the food is very good quality. We've had takeaways and eaten in on numerous occasions, each and everytime were never disappointed. Highly recommended 👌

Ordered food from here after having a leaflet put through the door , absolutely awful service after an hour and 20 mins food hadn’t arrived! I called for the 3rd time and said cancel the order, the delivery turned up , I refused to accept, an hour and 20 isn’t expected unless without an explanation, first time last time never again awful service

Thank you guys 20/4/23 Amazing we’ve been in Cornwall for nearly 3 years and omg Shaban’s are greatly missed so much so we order a load when we are up or friends are, and freeze them, Cornwall doesn’t seem to have good Quality so called by us Indian food actually Bangladeshi seem to have the best restaurants. Been going again recently July aug 2020 been great, only had takeaways but the meals we get have been to notch every time, well done you guys, keep up the good work. 2019 Used to be our local, unfortunately stopped going after we moved to Tamworth, after trying loads in our area we decided the travel here is worth the trip, food is excellent, can't recommend highly enough, all the old staff are great, really friendly, This is probably the best you'll find. I have been dining at shaban for at least 15 years and it is always great quality and service it is far better than any of the others in boldmere , I normally have chicken and king prawn balti with extra king prawn. All dishes are fabulous I love the madras sauce with the poppadums , mixed shashlik is superb.great quality Nan breads. Friendly welcoming brill service. Highly recommend.

Myself and my partner went for a meal and after 1 hour of being sat by the door we finally got moved to a suitable table. The suitable table however was with a family of 5 which was quite a bizarre experience considering it was our time to wind down together after a long week. After 3 hours, we had finally finished our meal and the bill was astronomical considering the above named experience. We then stated that we would not pay the full amount and the boss decided to be argumentative with my partner. To be honest if the food was acceptable we wouldn’t of been so disappointed, however it was not up to scratch for a restaurant that class themselves as the best curry house in Sutton Coldfield. Avoid like the plague especially if you book on a Saturday at 7 pm as they have a delightful habit of overbooking and leaving you by the door with just two popadoms and 10 people standing by your table awaiting to be seated

The food was lovely could not fault it. One waiter would come over and ask a question, followed by 5 different waiters asking me the same question one after the other. Seems to be no communication between them, felt like I was being rushed out the door once I had paid my bill. Was just finishing my drink off, kept being asked to leave but in a nicer way, such as “is there anything else you need” “did you say you wanted coffees or deserts”. Just tell me you need us to leave in 10 minutes because someone needs our seat, much more easier and less rude.
