Keema muttar was not very nice or traditional it was sweet for some reason

Half of my meal was in the carrier bag when i rang up i was told basically it had happened because i live too far away ??? Not impressed

I spend a lot of time eating out and for me this wasnt the best experience the food was ok at best the naan was definitely the best part of the meal. My coke was absolutely flat. I won't be returning anytime soon

The chicken Tikka masala had no chicken tikka or proper Masala sauce it was small chunks of normal chicken in a spicy tomato sauce. The lamb balti although edible was more like a lamb curry than a Balti and the keema Nan lasted 8 mins before half of it was as solid as stiff cardboard. Extremely disappointed, used the cottage for years but this is now the 3rd meal that I was not happy with, time to find a new take away.

Put the phone down. Answered the phone with "what do you want"? I asked for a tofu korma, that I had a month ago. The guy said he didn't know what that was, I asked him to ask the chef as I walked in and ordered one 4 weeks ago. He said no and put the phone down lol.

Treated myself to a lamb steak, £15.30 I thought that does not sound too bad for the price. They sent me a tough beef steak, overcooked, and few slices of off-putting soggy mushrooms. The lamb bunha was even worst as its supposed to be their speciality. Dry boiled rice.. Very disappointed. I think it was very naughty of them to sell beef as lamb.. Never Never again. Waste of £30 and still hungry.

The food was 10/10 the jalfrezi curry rice Somosa and naan was piping hot, i would highly recommend this place if you want authentic Indian food this is the first restaurant in Birmingham which I totally loved, I have always been disappointed with food I’ve ordered but this place never let me down and will be my regular please please order from here the food is fresh and delicious 💯💯👌

Had onion bhajees to start and chicken tikka biryani. Both were delicious and I would order again. Quick delivery too. Main was a little more than I expected to pay but the portion was generous.

Still hasn't arrived, food will probably be cold.

Have previously enjoyed warm service & good food. Not this weekend. Indifferent service and a Lamb Pasanda that was little more a watery stew with little taste.

Absolutely Terrible food and everything tasted overcooked, The menu is ridiculously over priced just to receive food that basically looked like roadkill

I messed up on the delivery, phone restaurant they sorted it out to be delivered to me no extra charge with free spring rolls. Restaurant service perfect 👍🏽. Others could learn from here. Mix meat grill lamb tikka was real tough but the rest rest of the food was enjoyable.

Pathia tasted like sugar. Barely any meat in balti. Both curries were overly thick. Couldn't eat.

Order was not complete has I ordered bottle of Coca-Cola did not receive it but the rest was very nice

Normally the food is very good, but must say tonight was very disappointed. And in my view very poor. Could have brought same from Big John for a 3rd cheaper and probably been better.

I didn’t know curries taste sweet. The tikka masala tasted very sweet. Not going to be ordering again.

food bland 5 cubes of chicken in curry {more like a casserole} byriani well veg curry you say gosh this place has really gone down standards very low PRICES HIGH . DONT MIND PAYING MORE FOR DECENT FOOD BUT THIS WAS BEYOND VILE

I had ordered Lamb Karahi, Peshawari Naan, it was freshly prepared, piping hot, presented excellently, mixed together with the onions with mint sauce, and a mint yogurt, the Peshawari Naan had honey on it and we're both cooked to as close to perfection as possible, the taste blew me away, a mix of spices, sweet and minty-onion as well as a great mix of vegetables all put together, priceless. I would recommend as I was searching for a place that did Desi food, and I hope to be a returning customer, If Allah Wills, I want to thank the chef and the staff and the delivery man for their services. How meal was dry there was the korma had and very little sauce also the same with the vindaloo

Food was lovely , had a little problem with the order when it arrived at our door but it was quickly corrected by the yew tree cottage in a very professional manner. Thank you i will definitely be returning . 👍

The mixed grill was ok but the balti was not a balti. It was chicken in pureed onion. No spice or taste beyond onion. Really poor. Not sure what happened tonight as it is generally ok. It went in the bin after 2 mouth fulls...it was that bad and the fact that there has been a 10% plus increase in prices I would expect an increase in quality. They need to employ a chef who actually can cook each order. Disappointing.

Good food as usual, and early delivery than quoted which was pleasing

I ordered a cheese garlic naan and it arrived without cheese, despite being charged for a cheese garlic naan... That was annoying however, the lamb tikka jalfrazi and mushroom pilau was really nice so I would order those again.

The pakora’s quality needs to be checked on. Packaging needs to be changed, every pakora came broken and squashed. The size of the fish pakora needs to be really looked at.

Sheer waste of money and ingredients!! Naan was like a swollen roti, kept under water for a while. It felt like syrup was put in place of curry and spices, for mayar paneer. Fried rice was like it had just passed through oil.

The food quality is always great from Yew Tree Cottage - nice and fresh and piping hot. They’re the only place that seems to do real chips - not frozen ones (and they taste amazing). I asked for my karahi curry to be hot (spicy) and this was done. I love the fresh peppers and onions in it, and the lean chicken. Only minor thing I would say is that the curry was a little oily this time (and the time before), and the oil leaked into the bag. But other than that, this is a trusted restaurant that I order from time and time again because I know that the food is going to be good. Thanks :)

Very disappointed with Yew Tree Cottage, meals have not been great the last few times we have ordered but given the benefit of the doubt and ordered tonight but food was awful. Time to look for a new Indian restaurant as I not had value for money here for a few months!!!

Ordered a rice dish that was far far too spicy and hot, so left it.

Food was terrible keema naan had no meat in looked like paste forgot my rice chips was vile and mint yogurt was like water never had such a bad experience with a takeaway definitely won’t be going back there.

Called restaurant to ask why delayed told drivers car broke down food arrived cold

The tandoori chicken was so sweet bright pink. After just one taste. It went in bin. Rogan Josh was very greasy. There was a puddle in the bag. First & last time we will use yew tree cottage.

Ordered a takeaway for 18.30 , didn't arrive on time ...OK traffic . Phoned a few times to check status ..on its way . Was assured food in insulated bags. Eventually arrived at 19.50 mine was cold and inedible , straight in the bin and ended up with tea cakes ...not good and nor acceptable afterbeing assured food was on its way and would arrive hot !!! I phoned a couple of times as food was very late but was met with rudeness each time !

All round good service, good portion size and amazing food. Only criticism I have would be that there was not enough meat (4 chicken pieces in each dish) but the food quality made up for it.

Overcharged for an already overpriced and cheap tasting food. My wife and I have eaten here twice, both times they have thrown in something for 'free' but certainly this most recent time they have over charged us. First time we went there I tried a dish that I'd never tried before, I forget what it was but I found it too sweet. Since I hadn't tried it before I put it down to being a dish that I'd never tried. This time I had a balti, a pretty standard Indian dish, but it seemed like just generic curry, slightly watery. Also, it had incredibly little meat in it, like seriously, how expensive is chicken? For the price you charge it should be full of chicken!

Absolutely terrible service !!! Ordered at 6pm , I called up at 8pm asking where the order was & was told due to it raining its delayed (NO communication) & also told it was on the way and had left 30 mins ago... I called again at 845pm and asked to cancel due to it being nearly 3 hours , the guy on the phone was pretty rude and had an attitude and didn't want to help explaining the way of cancellation & how I get I get issued a refund!!!

The food was lukewarm. The samosas the lamb Tandoori was swimming in grease. The salad was placed in the bag nicely around the hot containers. No surprise that the mate was cold and the salad was born. Not nice.

Not enough meat in mix kebab sandwiches. Ordered 3 sandwiches so probably prepared altogether and chef miscalculated meat quantity required.

Husband liked the food. I thought it was decent personally. Could've been spicier though 🤧😂 Service was great. Gave us replacement sauce when wrong sauce was given with biryani
