The food is excellent, but be aware about overcharging on the bill, there has been a number of occasions when £1 has been added to our bill over recent months, always apologetic when challenged. This Sunday £5 was added, their excuse this time was £5 was already on the calculator ! Many of my neighbours have also experienced the same overcharging.

This locals favourite when it was Village Brasserie (I think before called Ala Akash) for the last circa 15 years as finally died after new management. Since my last review it has just got ridiculously bad. It has got to that you can never order a take away on a Monday / Tuesday as it seemed they employ a first year student from a local catering college. Then even at weekends the quality is never consistent and a gamble if you get a nice meal. Two weeks ago after a very poor takeaway (a curry in water) we decided not to order again. Yesterday we thought let’s see if it’s different visiting the restaurant. I’m afraid not. We should have realised something was wrong when we arrived at 9 o’clock on Saturday evening to an empty restaurant - totally empty - felt embarrassed sitting there (it was also a day with FA Cup on TV - a 4pm game). We were actually worried if we would get a table - no worry of that !! Then the food came — the food actually tasted powdery - I saw a documentary that cheap curry houses use powdered sauces - the once lovely Village Brasserie has resulted to powered sauces etc. Even the king prawns in the king prawn shaslick had a powdery coating. Given how much they now charge it’s ridiculous. They don’t have alcohol, not because they cannot get a licence but because of their religious views !!! The new owners has ruined this once lovely local restaurant. I hope they sell to someone who cares. Keep away to let that happen

Sadly won’t be back again. This is not Indian food. My kids school serves a more flavoursome curry! The sauce in dansak and jalfreezi was absolutely the same: sweet baby purée with no spices or taste difference whatsoever . Dansak had only 3-4 lentils in it and 4 pieces of lamb and jalfrezi had just one pepper and lots of onions and 5 chicken pieces. Complete joke. Tikka tasted like it was steamed for a toddler. How this place even exists is beyond comprehension as the dishes are so lacking in any kind of flavour or ingredients that it is a crime to call it Indian!

We decided to try Kushboo for a takeaway after a years not going in there... not nice.. Chicken Tikka dry in fact tasteless. Sag paneer awful. Partner had chicken madras ... didn't meet expectations... Onion bajis .. passable but not great. Even mint sauce had no flavour. Definitely won't be returning any time soon... VERY Disappointing experience. Now in rubbish bin.

Starters very nice, but mains including chicken masala and jalfreizi contain serious amounts of garlic that overwhelm the dishes. Never had garlic in these dishes from any other restaurant. Shaslicks and chips over greasy. Wish the prices were cheaper and they just charged for delivery. Adding serious amounts of money onto the online prices just doesn't seem right as I am not talking just a few pence.
