Fort raj platter is not a sharing platter 1 chicken tkiika 1 lamb 1 onion bhaji not worth the money

I was the only customer early on a Sunday evening so can't much comment on the atmosphere. Service was casual, not a huge effort made but friendly enough. Food was OK. Nan was great, curry had plenty of protein and veg but very little flavour snd no heat. It was fine but a bit odd

This was the worst curry of my life. I am 58 and have dined around the world however,honestly, this place is dreadful. Any good reviews must have been paid for. Dirty Tasteless Slow Only good thing was the waiter. I gave him two tips. One was a £5 note. The other was to get a job somewhere else!

Went to this restaurant for an early evening meal with my friend, whilst perusing the menu we ordered coffee, I ordered a week coffee with no sugar my friend ordered her coffee with sugar, both coffees arrived, both very strong My friend took a sip from hers and almost vomited, the waiter had used salt instead of sugar. The waiter offered his apologies and a glass of water and small chocolate bar....to take away the taste. We then decided on our choice of meal, we both had chicken curry with accompaniment of mango chutney, the chutney was so thin we had to pour it onto our plates. The chicken curry was not very good, chicken was too chewy. All together not a pleasant experience, will not be coming again

Whilst staying for a few days in Horley, my better half and I fancied a nice Indian meal, something we're both partial to. When I say the meal was memorable, it certainly wasn't an experience we ever would want to repeat. Both my partner and I, having had Indian meals over the decades feel we're pretty well experienced to distinguish how a good meal should be, so we both ordered our time and tested favourites, Lamb Rogan Gosh & Chicken Sag. They were both awful and devoid of the spices necessary to give them life and taste. I've rarely experienced such a disappointing Indian meal.

2 people out of a party of 3 got food poisoning from what we suspect was rancid meat in the meat samosas. I will never eat here again.

We’ve been customers in person and by take-away for over 15 years and we’ve always had good service, tasty food and value for money. Our takeaway last night was very much enjoyed, the pasanda in particular was delicious.

Waited 1hr 20mins for food, it arrived cold and greasy. Absolutely no flavour to the food, everything bland and very little spice, Bombay potatoes and aloo sag soggy and mushy and watery, even the rice was awful, I couldn’t even rip the Nan bread apart it was that tough. everything went into the bin, complete waste of money… never again will I order from this restaurant. I had to give a 1 star rating in order to post my comments otherwise it would have been 0 stars

Ordered via Just Eat. After 40 minutes received a call saying there was a problem and all orders were being cancelled. A few hours later I discovered they marked the order as delivered and I had been charged. Tried calling all numbers over the next couple of days which were either unanswered, disconnected or answered by a random man who insisted he had nothing to do with the restaurant. Ended up having to do a chargeback via my credit card. Absolute crooks, avoid at all costs.

Friendly and professional service with delicious food! We ordered a Chicken badami, chicken balti, saag paneer, Peshwari naan and a pilau rice All of which were fresh, hot and really flavoursome. We wish we lived more locally so we could come more often!

We ate in and our food was served really quickly. We had: - poppadoms & chutneys - chicken balti - chicken badami - peshwari naan - pilau rice - saag paneer Portion size was good. We ate this between 2, but we have pretty big appetites. Total came to under £35 (before tip). Service really was great & super friendly. Food was all excellent. Only minor thing that I think could be improved was the badani was a little under-seasoned. But all-in-all, really enjoyed it all.

Not impressed!! The onion bhaji’s were over cooked and hard. The starters had no flavour and even the mint sauce was like water! First and last time I’m ordering from here, such a waste of money!!

Very disappointing takeaway - We ordered the set menu and requested to change the naan to a peshwari, we would have been happy to pay extra, but our request was completely ignored. Our poppadoms were also no where to be seen. Meat samosas tasted awful, as cheap as they come (e.g- pre-bought from a multipack)...Very little chicken in the curry...Sauce did not taste anything like a tikka masalla We won't be ordering from here again, especially considering the wide variety of great Indian restaurants in the local area who don't penny pinch!

The food it self wasn't the best i have had. The korma was poor. Didn't really have a taste. The tikka masala was too sweet. Chicken was dry... Overall I personally wouldn't order from there again as i feel they don't have a care in the world for their customers. No apology for either mistakes.

The pilau rice was nice, the samosas nice. The chicken tikka masala was odd, dark like a rogan josh rather than red or orange like a tikka masala. The Bombay potatoes weren’t nice, they tasted like they were tinned potatoes- but they weren’t small like tinned tomatoes are - so maybe not. The nan was stone cold by the time it was delivered and I opened it.

We ordered a curry from here for takeaway. It was the worst Curry I've ever had, we ordered prawn puree and it was swimming in grease and tasteless. The main dishes of lamb Jalil and Garlic chicken were tasteless, no flavour, the meat was over cooked and the dishes were swimming in grease and full of onions. The naan bread was over cooked and the lamb inside tough as old boots. This cannot be called a curry as tasteless and didn't taste of curry. I have no idea what this restaurant is doing but it isn't working. I'm of authentic mixed decent and I cook curry better than this. If I could leave no stars I would and I wouldn't of paid for it either. Awful experience and it's as though they're trying to cut corners with cheap cuts of meat and awful spices or just soaking all good in ghee and onions. Just awful. To add insult to injury this restaurant is the most expensive for a curry and the worst! AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND GET A TAKEAWAY OR GO TO CURRY BENGAL!

Ok so ordered a take away well wished I Had not starter 2 prawn puri which the chapatti were full of oil and rock hard which sounds strange I know prawns ok but sauce was like a curry sauce you could buy and taste nothing like curry so its just a very weird taste , MAINS garlic chilli chicken no garlic no chilli chicken ok sauce the same as starter, lamb jalali no ginger no spice tons and tons of onions why and wait for it the same sauce as the other main and starter . mushroom rice ok not the best ive had will not be back and will tell all are friends not to go there or order a take away,

I waited 1hr for the delivery to come... didn’t come!! Then I waited another 1 hr 30 ... Before they asked me for my order again because my order was apparently delivered to a different location. But by that time it was 22.50 and I wasn’t hungry anymore!, My evening was ruined!,

Some of the food was missing when it was delivered, and the rest of it was cold. We called the restaurant and they said they would have the missing items delivered, but this took more than 30 minutes to be delivered.

The food was 20 mins late, it was cold when it got to me and it was totally different to any Rezala I've had before. It was not hot (spicy) like in the description. Overall very disappointing. I only ate it as I was starving.

Having looked around town settled on this restraunt for our evening meal, well didn't we do well, food was first class, we choose 2 mains, 2 side dishes and rice, all arrived quickly all piping hot, all delicious. If like us you are in transit via Gatwick and enjoy Indian food, you could not do better than this, great food, great service, very reasonable price.

Average Indian food service could be a lot better- stairs up to the toilet very sticky and toilet could be a lot cleaner won’t be going back for awhile

Been here over the years quite a few times- the decor is a bit dated now and the stairs to the toilets are very grubby with the toilet not much better average Indian food and service hit and miss - there are better Indian restaurants near by in our opinion ( 4 of us )

We have been getting takeaways delivered from the new fort Raj for many years and have been really happy with it until our last 2 orders, I’m sorry to say we will not be ordering from here again.The food has gone from being tasty to watered down rubbish, it literally didn’t taste of anything, even the special rice which we normally love was grey and tasteless, the lamb was so hard I could barely chew it and the chicken had an almost synthetic texture to it, the nan breads were over cooked and like a brick in the middle.I’ve no idea what has happened but I’ve given them a second chance thinking our last order was a one off but it appears not as the next was just as bad as the last.The staff have always been helpful and friendly and especially the delivery driver and this is the only reason for my 2 stars.Can’t comment on eating in the restaurant as we have always had delivery but not anymore unfortunately, just to put the icing on the cake it took 1hr 20 minutes to be delivered.

For the first time after many good experiences, the delivery was 10 minutes over the 50 minutes quoted, the pilau rice was extremely watery and soggy. The chicken in the Chicken Tikka Masala was very tough and the masala virtually tasteless. These two items were abandoned and disposed of after the first tasting by the purchaser.

We visited this restaurant whilst staying in Horley. The food, service and staff were all of a very high standard and we would visit again.

We popped in here for dinner and were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly! And the food, so delicious! If you're hungry go for the set menu, we got the set menu for two and there was enough food to feed a family. It was all very flavoursome and delicious we left very full and happy! A great indian restaurant serving my favourite dish. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter and shown to our table. We had the usual popadums to start with onions and mango chutney etc. The mint yoghurt was delicious. The popadums were nice and crispy and tasted freshly made. I had chicken badami with peas pilau. It was heaven on a plate. Also I had a peshwari nan packed with coconut. Again delicious. We were then offered a complimentary Bailey's or brandy. It's a shame the restaurant is so far away from home but I'll definitely be back. Well worth a visit.
