My butter chicken looked like milk and cream, and only had 5 pieces of red pre seasoned chicken that looked like it came out of the tikka side dish. Very disappointed!

Not quite as good as usual. Poppadoms were a little stale and the madras was great.

A bizarre taste for Bombay aloo and tikka masala

I ordered online. Their driver had no access to Google maps. So couldn't find me. 1h in a road freezing cold. No delivery. They didn't fix it. Disgusting company. Steer clear

No flavour. Prawns solid. Zero soul in the food, set up to churn food, spices not grilled. Sloppy sauce with meat added. Waste of my money.

The worst food I have had from this restaurant. Tasteless and very very watery. Time to find another takeaway.

For mains, I ordered two different dishes. But I received two the same. I phoned twice but no one answered. I did try one dish, it was ok but it was very bland for an Indian/bengali dish. So, after using them for some time, I’m quite disappointed.

The delivery was excellent and a very pleasant driver. The curry was absolutely amazing and full of flavour and the best pasanda ever, not sweet or too creamy but a delicious flavour and the lime and cashew rice WOW. I would absolutely recommend.

Although not living in Horley, visited this restaurant having won a competition in a local magazine. We ordered a prawn puree and onion bhajis for starters, a chicken tikka and a chicken tikka bhuna for mains accompanied by a vegetable bhaji and pilau rice. All food extremely well presented and very tasty. Staff led by Mo friendly excellent all round. Could not fault. We learnt the "group" also comprises of restaurants in Lingfield and East Grinstead. We have been to the latter many many time over the years and cannot fault! An EXCELLENT FIRST VISIT! Will return.

Was staying in Horley and walked along to look for somewhere to eat. This is not in the main high street so you have to cross the railway line. About 10 people in when I arrived and more came in after me. Great food, good service and reasonable price. I had the Tandoori Murgh Silsila, Cauliflower bhaji, pilau rice, chapati and a bottle of Magners for £24.45.

Absolutely dreadful. Horrible taste, tikka masala was mostly Heinz tomato soup mixed with red food colouring. Cost a fortune for a take away and the food was not nice in any way. We all said the same. Was a Birthday treat but wasn't much of a treat. Not even sure our dog would have eaten it. Winter go again. Avoid Avoid Avoid.

Food was amazing as always & still hot when delivered but I ordered the set meal for one & never received my onion bhaji which is part of it but didn’t realise until later on.

First time using this restaurant and will definitely be coming back! Cautiously ordered mild dishes for our first go and was absolutely delicious. Thank you!

Visited The Curry Bengal as a party of four at 8 o’clock on a Saturday evening having booked at table as we know from our many previous visits that the restaurant gets very busy from then on. We drove to Horley and parked in the nearby car park. Car parks in Horley are free in the evening unlike Crawley As always we ere welcomed when we arrived and once our booking was located shown to a large round table. When we arrived the restaurant was fairly quiet, but filled very quickly over the next 15 minutes or so As always the restaurant was well lit and very well presented and at a pleasant temperature Once seated we were given menus, invited to order drinks and asked if we would like poppadums. No need for phone torches to read the menu as font of a good size and light levels excellent Orders duly taken drinks and poppadums arrived very quickly. Poppadums were crisp and without any hint of oily aftertaste and the accompaniments were excellent, particularly the thick mango chutney which a great blend of spice and sweetness Draft lager was well chilled and very good We ordered a range of starters and a variety of main dishes. Starters were served with timing that allowed for cooking and all were excellent For main course we enjoyed Chicken Shaslik, Chicken Madras, Chicken Chetinad and Prawn Bhuna with side dishes of Mushroom Bhaji, Saag Aloo, Plain rice, naan bread and Rotis. The chicken was tender and moist, rice fluffy with grains well separated and breads were not at all doughy. Throughout staff were attentive, enquiring if our meal was satisfactory and ensuring glasses were replenished when required We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and this remains our go to Indian restaurant. Well worth a visit and will be back in the near future

Ordered at 18:30 Friday 28th March, currently Friday 28th 20:41 and we are still waiting for our food to be delivered - the restaurant didn’t have a clue what was going on during the three times we have called to find out. Even if the food was good, service is the worst and really bad customer service when chasing up. I won’t bother again and recommend you don’t either.

Staying overnight before flying out of Gatwick we popped into Horley for a curry rather than eat on the Gatwick complex. A quick bit of research and we plumped for the Curry Bengal which was walking distance from Horley Station. We were the first customers of the evening and found everything top notch from the head waiter to the tastefully decorated room with decent ambiance bearing in mind we were the only ones in since it was very early evening. Most importantly the quality and value of the food was the biggest barometer. It was all faultless and the experience has motivated me to leave this review. If you are in Horley and like a good curry you would be well advised give this a try. If I could rate it higher than 5/5 I would.

the food was below par this time. usually really good. half of our food arrived and the other half was left behind. before the 2nd half arrived, the first half of the order was cold. its a shame and I hope its just the once.

Considering it was Christmas Eve and we ordered at probably a busy time the order came very quickly. The food was lovely and hot and tasted as good as it always does.

Food was good. However missing item. Also if you want poppadoms order them as they are not sent complimentary.

Sadly the meat in my curry was very fatty and the overall dish was oily and not very flavoursome. The onion bhaji were incredibly oily and overall the quality was disappointing.

Extremely bad service. The taste of food is extremely bad as well. I ordered grill fish Tandori they put lot of onions and tomatoes and only some pieces of fish which still have smell, I ordered chicken korma and it’s sweet, normally is some things which should be spicy. And even they didn’t mention in the menu the korma is sweet. I ordered mint sauce, instead of mint sauce restaurant send me mango sauce even the payed one is mango sauce. We cannot eat the food after paying a big amount of 24 *

Exceptional service, fantastic food and speedy delivery. Every time we order we receive the same high standard. We won’t order from anywhere else and haven’t for years now. This evenings meal in particular arrived a whopping 40mins early, was baking hot and all tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. Keep up the great work guys - we’ll keep coming back!

We have been going to curry Bengal for many many years even when it was a takeaway across the road so we took our grandson last night for a meal and although our food was good , we thought the man that seemed to be in charge a little rude!!! Everything was almost slammed on the table I’m not sure if this was because it was quite busy but not a good experience.

The food arrived and was pretty decent. However the butter chicken looked like it had been cooked with a whole block of butter - it was completely white and tasted bland. I won't be ordering that again. The Tikka Masala was good though.

Only a small point was the mint sauce lid had popped off and the contents spilt out.

Best curry in Horley in my opinion. The food is always lush, beautifully prepared, fabulously fresh ingredients. I had the King Prawn Delight this evening and the subtlety of the the layers of flavours...! My goodness, what a treat!

My wife and I visited The Curry Bengal today for lunch. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The menu is very extensive. The food we had was very tasty, freshly cooked and well presented. It was a most enjoyable experience.

first time ordered, very bland no taste, wont be ordering again.

Having been ordering from the curry bengal for 5 years, the past two times we have ordered there have been items missing from our order. Today we waited 1.5 hours for the delivery and when it arrived the food was cold, the curry had spilt all over the bag & there were missing items in the order, popadoms & naan bread. We won’t be ordering from them again & will use another local curry house from now on.

Very nice mixed grill tandoori.

Been several times before and has been ok. Booked for a Friday evening 7:30 was already quite busy. In short the food was not good and service was poor too. Different waiter’s asking the same questions and taking my used cutlery off my plate and placing back on the table for the next course when it is covered in food! Lamb starter was like cutting into coal too hard and not tender at all. My wife and i had different mains both with chicken tikka and my meat was like plastic the sauces where thick and looked more like wallpaper paste, just not very nice. With the prices restaurants charge these days they need to raise their game. Its my local restaurant but i will not be returning, simply not good enough.

Plenty of chicken in the pathia. Tandoori chicken starter was very well flavoured. Poppadoms were decent. Wouldn’t order the onion Bhaji again. Overall would order again

Chicken was bland and chewy, I think it’d been reheated. Onion bajis were burnt. The whole meal was horrible.

Chicken a little bit too dry. I’m pretty sure we received wrong naan bread. Not much flavor in this food. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend it or order it again.

Two things missing and one dish wrong

I was told it had left the restaurant 40 mins before it was delivered and it arrived 15 mins after the latest delivery time. I called the restaurant and they were less than helpful, less than caring and didn’t really listen to me. The food is good but delivery and customer service is not.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant in Horley. Excellent food, the best Dhansak I have ever had and reasonable prices too.

Order received was incorrect for the second time. Food was warm not hot. Lacking flavour and chicken was dry and grainy? Not sure what's going on?? but Curry Bengal used to be the best Curry housr around. Shame
