Taj Balti House in Reigate and Banstead

ordered a takeaway for four on a Sunday in February 2024 and I can't tell you how great the food and service was. The food arrived around 40 minutes after we ordered it and it was all delicious. We had a king prawn naga, chicken tikka chilli massala and a tikka massala plus side dishes of garlic rice, onion bhajis and prawn puree. The bhajis were crispy and fantastic an all the other food was excellent as well. We've eaten inside the Taj as well and it was just as good then. They do a great sheek kebab and mixed grill too! Would thoroughly recommend a visit or takeaway you won't be disappointed if you love great Indian curries!

Used to have a delivery from here regularly and it was excellent and then last year our food started arriving like warm. After a gap of months we tried again on Monday night. BIG MISTAKE! The main course chicken was hot as was one of the side dishes everything else was like warm. Stupidly we ate it! Problems during the night for both of us, stomach cramps, diarrhoea, nausea Have used the contact form on their website, still not contacted us 4 days later!

Went here again last night after a previous really good curry and this time it was the best curry i have had! The restaurant has been taken over recently and first impressions you would walk away but dont! The service is great albeit can be slow but the food is hot,fresh and tasty with good portions! I love garlic on my food and they always accommodate most request made! They offer bring your own bottle but do sell soft drinks and do provide glasses and ice if required for BYO. Prices are reasonable and the waitress is lovely! Will keep going back for as long as the food stays as it is!

We’ve been using the Taj Balti on a regular basis for several years now, always with a minimum of 4 friends. Ive found the ‘bring a bottle’ suits us individually & we all find Taj Balti great value, especially when splitting the bill. The food is fantastic & fresh, always served together & table service impeccable. See you again soon!

I’ve lived in Horley for over 2 years now and first time I’ve ordered from here. It was so good. Piping hot, tender meat, fresh and delicious! I’ve ordered from so many different Indians since we moved here but I’ve found the one now. We had a takeaway with friends and we all said how great it was, will definitely order again soon!

Had a really great welcome from Angela (sorry if I have gotten the name wrong) and we were seated quickly as if was early. We chose a starter, main and some side dishes. The waitress was very chatty and helped us choose a main dish which turned out to be spot on. In short the curry was packed with flavor and delicious. A great find in terms of a local Indian restaurant and definitely somewhere we will come back to.

Decided to venture out from the Gatwick airport Travelodge hotel and about a 13-15 minute walk away is this great little Indian restaurant. They allow you to bring your own wine/beer in because they do not serve it. I had the chicken Tandoori marsala and it was spectacular. There was one family other than myself there and the photo is of their food arriving via rolling cart to their table.

Looking for my usual curry fix, the Taj Balti house was close to where I was staying. The reviews were favourable so I gave it a go. Ordered online and collected on time. The Non-veg platter was brilliant. Plenty of choices including chicken, shish, fish etc. It was definitely good enough for the main course for one. The flavours of both were excellent. It really tasted like it had been marinated properly rather than a token marinade which is far too common these days. The naan bread was also excellent. Perfectly cooked and nice and light. Definitely, one to add to the list.

Lovely service from waitress Angela. Nice poppadoms, starters of chilli paneer and king prawn poori (tasted great!). For mains we had curried lamb shank (with mince) and my wife had another spicy lamb dish with ocra side dish ! Pilau rice and one garlic man, Kulfi ice cream to follow! £39.65 Highly recommended, and only 25mins walk from Gatwick Premiere Inn A23 (photos of mains partially attacked, I'd already deboned my shank!)

Ordered food for delivery as an Easter treat. Food piping hot when it arrived and all the dishes were absolutely delicious - nothing left over, which is unusual in our house! From the very friendly lady who took our order on the telephone, to the polite delivery man and finally the excellent food, the service was great. Would definitely order from them again.

We went here for my birthday with family as we were unable to book our first choice but we were not disappointed the food was lovely and the service very good and friendly. They don't have an alcohol license so you can take your own which we found really good as we could drink the wine that we really like and it keeps the cost down. Would definitely go back again.

Bien ordenados una entrega en 1714 y después de 2 horas y media de entrega 7 llamadas llega fría. Así que no es comestible en coche hasta la tienda y la devolución de la demanda. Reembolso pero realmente horrible servicio al cliente. Restaurante intentó culpar al conductor. Pero al ver la venta de la información escrita sobre el conductor pobre no constituyen una oportunidad. Teléfono domicilio equivocado escrito mal escrito. Nunca más me voy a pedir o recomendar taj Balti House.

Prawn butterfly had no prawn in it just dry batter and the rest of the food wasn't much better, rice was clumpy and stuck together which made it uneatable

Decided to treat myself to a bank holiday take way food arrived 20 mins before expected looked very greasy and tasted it to although it was only a small order I had the veg platter starter and a nan bread the potion size was very small even for a start! And was only luke warm at best had to reheat before eating did not look or taste fresh more like last night left overs! Will not be ordering in the future very disappointed a waste of money didn't eat half of it as could not mange another mouth full of tasteless greasy food! Don't waste your time or money

Ordered a delivery. Took 2 hours to arrive. Popadoms soggy, no rice, & sauce spilt all over the bag- almost impossible to eat & actually wasn't very nice even after I managed to get it served up. Never again!

We ordered a takeaway and the food turned up on time however both rice dishes were missing from the order. We phoned up and were told "we're very busy....we can give you something off your next order". When we said we wanted the rice now (this is half the meal!) as we'd paid for it, the man was not apologetic and eventually said they would deliver the rice to us in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later the rice arrived. The meal was average and the chicken masala was very oily - I've had a lot better Indian takeaways (and a lot better customer service).

Finally a decent Indian take away in Horley. Food arrived in 30 mins earlier than they said, it was hot and very tasty. Will be ordering here again for sure!

Hi guys, myself and work colleagues had a takeaway from here and I have to say it was superb.We had a selection of dishes and each one of us said how good the food was. I would definitely recommend the Taj Balti for a takeaway and I might even have to take the wife for a meal there. Brilliant!!

typical Friday night and we ordered Home Delivery.We ordered chicken madras and lamb shaslik with the garlic naan and meat samosa ...oh yes and the garlic mushroooms with a couple of extras. absolutely beautiful. they said it was 45 mins to 1 hour but its Friday night so thats cool. It arrived within 35 mins. lovely delivery man with a smile despite pouring rain. Bless him. We noticed one item was missing whilst we were dishing up but everything looked so lovely we just decided to sit down and eat within 5 mins of sitting down this lovely delivery driver was back at our door apologising for the missing dish. SO SERVICE WAS SUPER AND THE FOOD WAS JUST AS GOOD. A perfect way to start the weekend.

Been dining here since the first management. Customer service and restaurant lay out is even better now. Quality of food has always been superb. Highly recommended if you fancy authentic Indian cuisine!

We dined in this restaurant after a long time. For a change, we found the food very impressive both in quality and taste. Apparently the management has changed and they have really made a difference. Didn't know that we could have brought own booze, will take my favourite Wine along next time. And the kids loved the selection of ice creams they have in their dessert menu, will happily go there again....

Food delivered within 20 mins from ordering which I found a bit weird. The worst take away I ever had - Luke warm and not fresh. It had nothing to do with Indian food - bland and really not tasty. Will never order from here again, What a waste of money :(

Vast refurbishment improvement, very pleasant dining, food tasty and nicely presented, staff friendly, we will be visiting again

The food is excellent and priced well. The service is friendly and family orientated. I love the fact you can bring your own alcohol. All in all a great night out.

I visited last week with my family, I can say in one word about Taj Balti house - "WOW". Complete change from our last visit, New management, new decor, pleasant atmosphere and the important part; very nice food.I would love to go again with my family.Well done

Well very good for me ,this is my experience ,based by this feedback, Taste and very delicious Lamb bryani ,with starter and a drink , water .Staff is nice and they are was so busy ,Recommend and believe me you don't need a five star place to go , because sometimes they are cooking better than ,anywhere else .Price is right, and a value is great .

This is my second visit. Between first and second visit there has been a management change. I can say the change is for good. Food quality has improved by country miles. Service, staff behaviour makes it an even better experience. I will go there again.

I have been to this place earlier once and get it it delivered mostly. This time I stopped by to pick it up myself. The place looks way better than what it looked earlier, I changed my mind decided to dine in. The food tasted way better than what I used to have when I ordered.The new management needs to be appreciated for their kind service and improvements over the kitchen and dining area. Must say the food now tastes proper Indian !! This place has definitely changed for the good. 5 stars for the service.

Ordered a take away meal for 4 people, when it arrived we found Nan bread similar to those found in any supermarket likewise the Onion bhajee, the curry sauces were like a curry flavoured soup. When I complained they told me that the chef had failed to turn up, guess what , so will I in future.

Delivered quickly and hot. Paratha was made of wholemeal flour. Masala was lumpy and badly spiced. Keema rice indescribably bad. Both dishes swimming in Oil. Expensive and disappointing.

Visited here after a long day at Wimbledon as it was just down the road from where we were staying. Not really expecting much, we come from near the Balti capital of England (Lye, Stourbridge) where we are spoilt for choice and rarely find anywhere which is as good at similar prices. However we had a very pleasant surprise. The food was fantastic with service and friendliness to match, they even gave us tasters of the food they were eating at Ramadam. The prices were very reasonable. They even said we could have taken our own drinks (most of the Baltis we go to around here are BYO). Highly recommend

We ordered food from this place because we were let down by our local Indian takeaway. I'm afraid that this place was even worse. Food was late. When I called to check after 1.5 hrs waiting I was told by very rude person that my food is on its way. He didn't even know where I am calLing from. Part of my order was missing and the quality of the food was very poor. We have a lot of friends in Gatwick area, specially Horley. We will make sure everybody knows how bad this place is. I hope they loose all customers as the service, delivey time and quality of the food is super poor!!

This restaurant never looks particularly inviting to sit in and eat, and we never have. We always order takeaways from this restaurant in preference to the other Indian restaurants in the area, and have alway been very good. The staff are always very polite and always seem to remember us. The delivery is very quick.

We were staying in a nearby hotel as we were flying from Gatwick the next morning. We had a look on the internet for nearby restaurants and the Taj Balti came up so we gave it a try. We entered the restaurant to find that we were the only ones in there and the waiter asked us to take a seat. We had to pull the table out ourselves to be able to get to it. We were then handed a menu by a waiter who was still in his coat (this stayed on for the duration of our stay). We noticed on the menu that popadoms and chutneys were extra so we decided against this. and to order a starter and main course. After the order was taken, the waiter brought out some popadoms and chutneys. We just assumed they were complimentary. Our starter came out reasonably quickly and was very nice. The main course however, took 45minutes after we had finished our starter. During this wait, people had been in, ordered a take-away and left with it. Another person came in to pick up a pre-ordered take-away, which wasnt ready. Another person came in and their order was wrong.When our dinner eventually came, we noticed that they got our order wrong too and they gave us a coconut curry (like a Korma) instead of the spicey Chicken dish. We didnt ask them to take it back as who knows how long this would have taken. We also ordered a cauliflower bajhi to go with the main coure...this arrive luke warm. During our meal, there was a phonecall from a customer complaining that their food was cold. The waiter on the phone replied to the customer, im sorry, the next time, all your food is free. He sounded like he was used to this.When we were finished, we asked for the bill. The waiter then got side-tracked and started to take another tables order. They didnt know what some of the dishes were so the waiter starting explaining each dish. We were now in a rush to get back as we planned to watch a film on the TV. Eventually we were given the bill. Guess what...the popadoms were on there along with the chutneys! We told the waiter that we did not order these. He removed them from the bill. We normally tip in reataurants, but unfortunaley, we didnt have a great time there and decided against it.

Just popped in out of the blue as we were flying from Gatwick the next day. From outside it doesn't look much & the waiter forgot to bring over our menu when it came to ordering which we thought quite funny. The chef personally brought us our meals as the waiter come, drinks man, manager & delivery driver was out delivering. I had a beef Madras & the wife a chicken Dnansk, with garlic nan. Both meals were 10/10. Cooked to perfection. Don't expect a 5* restaurant but you will get 5* food

We've had takeaways and eaten in the restaurant many times over the years, but sadly the last visit might well be the last ever. We'd ordered a takeaway and when my wife got it home I found that me chicken madras was still raw in the middle. I called them to complain and after some persuading they agreed to replace the dish. Sadly this turned up still undercooked. Also they didn't replace the rice with the dish, so I was left with stone cold rice and undercooked chicken.

This was a very good location for us and the food was very good. It was a short walk from the Gable End B and B.

Ordered a delivery. At 20 minutes late we phoned and the driver was trying to find my flat in an area that was actually 2 miles away from where i lived. Apparently the delivery driver had no sat nav, phone or even an A-Z! This comedy of errors continued for another half an hour with various phone calls where every time he was 5 minutes away. I enquired several times with the man on the end of the phone if a discount will be applied for the lateness and he said no. Eventually after 50 minutes past the promised delivery time i cancelled the order. This was met with the response 'no we cannot cancel sir!'. Avoid this place at all costs. They do not have a clue what they are doing.

Food took an hour to arrive, despite living in the same (very small) town. Service was poor - when I phoned, the staff member had no idea about my order at all, served other people whilst I was on the phone to him etc... When the food finally arrived it was all barely lukewarm, the curry was very greasy and the poppadums were stale. Won't be using again.
