This locals favourite when it was Village Brasserie (I think before called Ala Akash) for the last circa 15 years as finally died after new management. Since my last review it has just got ridiculously bad. It has got to that you can never order a take away on a Monday / Tuesday as it seemed they employ a first year student from a local catering college. Then even at weekends the quality is never consistent and a gamble if you get a nice meal. Two weeks ago after a very poor takeaway (a curry in water) we decided not to order again. Yesterday we thought let’s see if it’s different visiting the restaurant. I’m afraid not. We should have realised something was wrong when we arrived at 9 o’clock on Saturday evening to an empty restaurant - totally empty - felt embarrassed sitting there (it was also a day with FA Cup on TV - a 4pm game). We were actually worried if we would get a table - no worry of that !! Then the food came — the food actually tasted powdery - I saw a documentary that cheap curry houses use powdered sauces - the once lovely Village Brasserie has resulted to powered sauces etc. Even the king prawns in the king prawn shaslick had a powdery coating. Given how much they now charge it’s ridiculous. They don’t have alcohol, not because they cannot get a licence but because of their religious views !!! The new owners has ruined this once lovely local restaurant. I hope they sell to someone who cares. Keep away to let that happen

Zeera was excellent when they opened but the food quality has gradually declined. What was most concerning was the quality of service…..the restaurant was not busy, we were a group of five and there were two men serving. We had to ask for a bottle opener, we had to ask for glasses for the drinks we bought, we had to ask for cutlery for both courses. We’d have been better off ordering a takeaway given the level of service. Disappointed.

Telephoned to order for collection. Food was ready very quickly, the service was rather unfriendly. Could it be because I did not want to pay as requested when I called? I paid with card. The chicken in both curries was very dry and hard. Portions were a decent size

Another great meal last night, their new thiner lighter Naan’s are great, need to ask for onion bhaji to be crisped off because they don’t come crispy, tried the chicken tikka shashlik - really good. Great staff treat regulars really well and remember your name and how you like thinks. Still a shame you have to brink your own drinks seems old fashioned. Shocked it isn’t more busy during week

I was organising a curry takeaway for 35 to 40 people and Zeera was the obvious choice. The manager was super helpful in sitting down and discussing what I would need. I arrived with my own list of what to order but he was very helpful and gave good advice with what I was ordering. When ordering a massive order, you always expect there to be some mistakes or the food may be a bit wobbly, but everything was perfect and nothing was missed. Everything was so full of flavour and also still HOT! I know we will definitely order from Zeera again

Great welcome and the starters were good but the meat used in the main dishes (lamb) wasn’t all that so we would hesitate to return.

I ordered a delivery tonight, 45 minutes later I got a call saying they'd accepted my order by mistake, being 13 minutes drive away, they then proceeded to demand £5 extra for delivery, I paid reluctantly, once food arrived cold and well under standard I called the manager, who advised I would have to drive to him for refund but would not receive the £5 petrol money they seemed fit to charge me. When I complained about the food, I have been informed I will be reported for harassment if I contact them again! They have my money, the food is on the bin

We entered as a big family, the waiters were very welcoming. We ordered many dishes and starters and they came very fast. The service was honestly great and to top it the food was delicious. It came instantly despite ordering many mains and starters and it was all freshly made and hot. We would recommend this restaurant and also be returning again.

Not sure why this restaurant isn’t more highly rated. Food is superb;service friendly and efficient. Yes it’s BYOB but this is a plus when you are with a group where there are a mix of drinkers and non drinkers .

Five of us showed up late on a busy Saturday without a booking and they took the time to find somewhere to squeeze us in. Food was excellent and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely go again.

A great Friday night venue. Surprised by BYO, but the corner shop has more than enough choice to bail you out. The food is fabulous. Without doubt the best naan I've ever eaten. Superb starters and delicious mains. Really impressed. Clearly does well on take aways, but we will be back to sit in.

Being opposite the Pilgrim's Brewery its ideal for those who fancy a curry after a couple of beers. It serves delicious Bangladeshi and Indian foods and the waiters are knowledgeable and very helpful when deciding on choices. The food was quickly served even though there were a number of people eating. It must be remembered that this restaurant is a BYOB, but the brewery opposite is suitably positioned to help out.

The food wasn’t delivered at all, and we ended up going to collect it, as we’d waited 90 minutes and were starving hungry. Don’t bother with this restaurant or JustEat.

Tasty food- small portions and expensive. The dips were just average that came with the poppadoms. I had to ask for lime pickle twice the waiter didn't understand the spoken English language. The Dahl was very good. Tiny portion of 3 prawns as a starter some £11 I recall. My wife's main of king prawns was tiny just six prawns of standard size and lots of sauce. We complained and double the quantity reappeared. My lamb curry was tasty small rice served with it. 30% off on the Wednesday.
