Came here recently with friends for dinner. I've been to other branches, but wasn't aware of one in Brick Lane. The place was nice, though a few tables had been left uncleaned for a while, but soon after sitting down at one, one of the staff came to clear up. Across our party, the chai, wraps and burgers were all great tasting as expected. We also wanted to get a cake, but unfortunately these were all unavailable which was a shame. Still, the food tasted good and was well-priced. A couple things to note about this branch - unlike other London branches I've been to, this one does not have the option to order to your table from the app, so you'll need to order at the counter. There's also seating below ground level, but it's nicer up on the ground floor where the counter is, so I'd recommend eating up there.

Not a 5 star experience. Firstly despite an online booking at Cinnamon we were taken to the restaurant next door (Aladin), there was some muttering about having expanded their business but no money has been spent yet on modernising the Aladin establishment. We were then pressured to order our food within 5 mins of sitting down, but even so when our food arrived it was lukewarm at best. Flavour was fairly good but our lamb was tough. When the bill arrived it was hand written and hard to decipher leaving us unsure if we had been charged service / corkage / or even the right number of dishes. We were due a 20% online booking discount and had to ask for this directly. So I can't offer a better score for service.

We used to eat at Nazrul when we lived in Stepney 40 years ago. Some change is to be expected especially as Brick Lane has become a tourist destination , but we did enjoy the food, including some vegan dishes and it’s still BYO. However, in the excitement of sharing a meal with the 4 of us, I didn’t check the handwritten bill which disappeared after my payment. Only later did I realise that I paid £89 for what should have cost approximately £73. Not a huge deal but I should have checked, especially having left a tip.

WOW! Popped in today for lunch and was genuinely amazed by the food. I had the boneless chicken jalfrezi, aubergine, and daal with plain rice and it was probably one of the best Indian restaurant dine in meal I've had in a very long time - very tasty, authentic, and quality ingredients used. I use to run my own Indian takeaway a few years ago, so I was seriously impressed with the food and service.

Slowest initial service I’ve ever experienced, waited for around 15 minutes to order drinks, there were two other covers at the time, we occupied the third table. Waitress seems uninterested and indifferent and rather lazy. No sign of anyone else to take our orders. Two margaritas eventually turned up and did not resemble the description either in taste or look. Tasted horrid. All the food turned up at once rather than the starters first. Spring rolls were cold and bland (straight out of a bulk buy freezer bag?) - sent them back to re heat - no apology, more indifference, disrespectful. Food itself was not tasty and there was nothing whatsoever nice or special about it. Service was poor with no enthusiasm or respect for these customers. I refused to pay their service charge of course and it was still probably the worst £67 I’ve ever spent on food. I felt embarrassed to have booked a table in this place of eating with my daughter, really horrid experience. So many other better options within walking distance of this place which I wish I’d explored.
