Cinnamon in Tower Hamlets

Not a 5 star experience. Firstly despite an online booking at Cinnamon we were taken to the restaurant next door (Aladin), there was some muttering about having expanded their business but no money has been spent yet on modernising the Aladin establishment. We were then pressured to order our food within 5 mins of sitting down, but even so when our food arrived it was lukewarm at best. Flavour was fairly good but our lamb was tough. When the bill arrived it was hand written and hard to decipher leaving us unsure if we had been charged service / corkage / or even the right number of dishes. We were due a 20% online booking discount and had to ask for this directly. So I can't offer a better score for service.

Madras was so delicious. We got here at 4.30 and plenty of people inside. Great atmosphere. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Would highly recommend 👌 Reasonably priced too.

Absolutely terrible experience at Cinnamon Indian Restaurant on Brick Lane. The food was bland, cold, and overpriced. Service was incredibly slow and the staff were rude and unhelpful. The restaurant was dirty, with sticky tables and unclean cutlery. Portions were tiny and definitely not worth the money. It’s clear that all the positive reviews are fake because this place is a disaster. Avoid at all costs if you want a decent meal and good service. Save your time and money, and find a better restaurant elsewhere

Decent food and service and we could BYOB which was a bonus.

Decent curry house that sorted us out at short notice when another place had messed up our booking. Inside was quite noisy due to staff running around but otherwise nice food and reasonably priced

Good food, service, & atmosphere

Total scam. Says they’re the same restaurant as Aladdin when hustling you inside. Have terrible experience there, then claim they’re not associated with each other. So I’ll post this on both Aladdin and Cinnamon. Dishonesty trumps all. Numbers in the picture don’t add up to the total. They add up to 42.75. Call waiter over, ohh sir you so silly it says clearly at the bottom 12.5% service charge applied. No line item for it on the receipt. “It’s optional”. And 12.5%, even if it was applied as a line item, still doesn’t equal the total. Dishonesty at its finest.

First time on Brick Lane. The food was terrible, no spice to it, bland. I always have Chicken Tikka Masala, but this was the first time with onions in it!!! It is obviously a tourist trap now, which is disappointing. Also, they didn't have any Masala tea or any other tea for that matter. Will not be back. Don't be fooled by the guys next door at Aladdin trying to tell you it's the same restaurant...it is not!

I came here for my 40th birthday dinner with friends in October… I had a lovely time here the staff were excellent and friendly! They even went over the road and got us cheaper drinks which was lovely of them. The food items led was amazing, I couldn’t fault the service or the kitchen staff at all. I will surely return back here soon! Thanks again to my brothers in the restaurant who made it a special night for me. We were a party of 7

Absolutely dreadful experience at Cinnamon Indian Restaurant. The food was disgustingly bland, service was atrocious, and the ambiance was downright sinister. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy being deceived and disappointed. Don't let their façade fool you - this place is a den of culinary deception

Fantastic curry in a lovely, friendly restaurant. Excellent service and value for money. Our waiter Green really looked after us. We would definitely come here again.

Not a nice experience, food was bland no presentation and overall experience was bad, butter chicken had no flavour and my girlfriend sent it back twice. To be fair to the guy he took it off the bill which was appreciated. Would not go back as the place seems abit rough and ready. 20% off and it was still not worth it

We came here on a saturday for a group Christmas meal and we were rushed into ordering & they began clearing our plates before we’d even finished eating!! It’s BYOB and the minute we finished eating they gave us the bill - we asked for more time to enjoy our drinks and let our food go down and they kept asking us to leave - we’d be in the restaurant for 55 minutes! We all felt so rushed and unwelcome - I had really high hopes for this restaurant as we’d heard such great things but it really let me down - the food was also not that great either - quite bland. I wouldnt spend my money here - better off going to tayyabs in whitechapel!
