Lahore Kebab House in Tower Hamlets

Horrific! Just ate at my local joint Lahore house on Easter Sunday. The brother of the owner had messed up an order of a butter nan. The touched and half eaten butter nan instead of sending back to the kitchen, he blatantly put that eaten nan plate straight onto our table in our plain sight. How this disgusting man didn’t bother to hide or apologise, when I challenged him. I was shock & appalled the restaurant zero food handling standards and the staffs has no hygiene concept on the floor and I believe also in the kitchen, the vile experience left me sickened and no appetite to return to this Lahore Horror House ever again. Good luck whoever eat there. Btw the food served were very bad gleeed food and dry burnt lamb chop, salad on the place are full of cheap onion but nothing else. Disgusting!

This place is no longer worth the hype. It is still living off prior reputation. The food is all swimming in ghee, meat is overcooked, ingredients are not fresh... to top it off service is abysmal. There is a reason the rating is low - when was the last time you ate in a restaurant with this many bad reviews? Presumably when you were on holiday and options were limited? Do yourself a favour and leave this one in the past.

Sumpa the waiter was very rude and had an attitude. his has now become a place where if you go as a white British person they treat you properly but if you are asian they will not treat you properly. our food was cold and not freshly made. I asked the waiter to atleast warm the food up to which she shook her head. the mains came before the starter and it's cash only who keeps cash in this day and age. would not recommend for anyone that wants a decent experience there are other resturants on the road that you could go too

When we entered in here ambience was very poor.Chairs was weird.They are still living in oldest era. Food wasn't tasty at all.We ordered Dry lamb they gave us within two minutes it wasn't fresh .We asked them and they was very rude.They said if you don't like you can go i was wondering how someone can say to customer like this. Came with my family get worse ever experience of my life . Still sitting here waiting for water. Average food 00 hygiene very rude staff. I will give 0 for service. Our mains was sitting on the table for 10 minutes we were waiting for sides. They took our mains and warm it again how ridiculous.very disappointing. Never ever coming back here . Lahore Kebab House in Whitechapel offers an authentic Pakistani dining experience that keeps me coming back. The lamb chops and Nihari are legendary. The atmosphere is lively and unpretentious, with large screens often showing sports. Service is efficient, with staff quickly attending to your needs. Being a BYOB establishment, it's both convenient and cost-effective to bring drinks. Very generous portions and reasonable prices!

I ordered a lamb biryani but received chicken biryani instead, which had a strange taste and contained only four small pieces of chicken. It’s frustrating to look forward to a meal after fasting, only to be disappointed by the wrong order and an unpleasant taste.

Please don't waste your time or money visiting here. Once upon a time this place was one of the best in London. Now, the food isn't fit for a dog. And that's before we get to the service. The lamb chops were this restaurant's signature dish. Now I wouldn't serve them to my worst enemy. They are thin, fatty, lifeless poor excuses for meat. The kebabs are made with an old, dry, musty mince. The masala fish comes in a batter where the powdered spices are raw and singe the palate. The naan is doughy, lacking even a hint of crispiness. The salad is stale, with mouldy tomatoes accompanying the limp cucumber.The curries are all served in the same slop of a sauce made by someone with a passing acquaintance with curries of the subcontinent. Service is atrocious. Are the staff racist? They need to remember they are in London, and some British people may make the mistake of gracing their doorways and that all customers of every hue should be treated with the same level of respect. And not be made to wait for 20 minutes while regulars are seated and served their food. Farewell to a fond establishment. Over the past decade I've spent many pounds in here, and made many more memories. But everything comes to an end. It's a shame it had to be this way.

Well I tried this place a week back before my second visit and man it was lovely. Hyped my brother to go try this place, and it was a disaster. The seekh and lamb chops were good but not like the previous visit. And I have to say the chicken tikka was the star of the night coz it was spoiled, had a foul smell to it. Did tell it to the waiter and he basically took it to the kitchen and brought it back as it was. On my last visit it was a really sweet lady who served us and took really good care of but this time the guy who served us was basically like yeah man order what u want I got my own thing to do. That spoiled chicken tikka just ruined the entire appetite. If I have to make a visit another time it would be only for the Haleem, But wouldn’t be fair to just say that the place or food is worst. Coz I really did get to taste how good their kebabs could be on my first visit. I hope they are more consistent on their taste. Service has to be improved. if u want to try this place go on a weekend, maybe everything would be fresh. Mann I need some local food.......

This is, hands down, the best Pakistani/ Indian style food you'll find in all of Europe. Amazing dishes at very decent prices.

Came in and the ambience told me it was as authentic as it could get - the hustle and bustle and the noise level immediately brought me back to the bustling asian food scenes. was almost like a hawker centre in a local neighborhood (but in london??) my favorite dish was the garlic naan- thickly coated with ghee and garlic, bursting fragrance and the texture was sublimely stretchy. loved the paneer and the dry lamb. amazing spice levels. biryani and nihari were decent. thought they could be cooked with richer flavours. lovely texture of the meat but more spices could be added per dish.

I was here on 07.03.2025 and one of the staff tried to overcharge us £20 over for our meal. Would not give us our bill despite asking multiple times and then told me to get out £80 (it’s cash only). When I returned to our table with cash to pay the bill he tried to take the money off the table without providing a bill. I stopped him and told him to give me a bill so I knew how much I had to pay. He produced a bill with food we did not have. When I objected he went away and brought me another bill also with food we did not have. We ended up paying this as it was near what we calculated we owed. Do not go here.

We had an iftar party for our family - around 20 guests. Overall the food was good - vegetarian dishes a bit better. Lamb quality could be a bit better. Service was good and prompt and overall setup was very good

We ordered to take away, chicken and vegetarian biryani, samousas and cheese naan. Nice food but be aware that is is spicy

Amazing food. Know what they're doing. Done it for years. All grilled meat dishes are brilliant. Main course are good but less reliable but let's face it, 10 lamb chops and salad later, who needs a 'curru' dish?!!! Great that you can take your own booze with you, not that I'm a fan of beer and Indian food, tbh! (Toilets are not good enough)

It is very tasty food in the main London City. Tried nihari and karahi along with seeks kababs, and everything was tasty. They don't have Chai, though, which was a bumer

Excellent food better service and environment

Service is impeccable. I think I had an ideal in my head and it just didn’t live up to it. It does t help that there’s a few YouTube videos really saying how amazing Lahore Kebab House but the food was average. To be honest that says a lot about the quality of food in the area.

Poor quality service.We had to wait a good 30 minutes before someone noticed us and the restaurant was practically empty at that Time . The food was mediocre too.Never...

Bad food quality, wastage of money, we can get better food in the other Restaurant . service was also not good.

When we going to make payment they said they accept only cash payment but didn’t mention it before. We asked why they didn’t mention us before they said It's just didn’t working now.

The food quality is very very bad had order some soup it was so terrible could eat more than a spoonful. They need to change the chef at the earliest. The service and ambiance is not okay.

¡El peor restaurante! Mal servicio, los camareros no tenían idea de lo que estaba disponible. Un par de veces nos preguntaron si tenían bebidas calientes de ejemplo y nos dijeron que no, pero 25 minutos después vemos a un cliente que se sirve una bebida caliente. La comida era sosa y carecía de sabor. Claramente atendiendo al mercado occidental en lugar de hacer comida auténtica. Las chuletas de cordero no tenían suficiente carne en el hueso, un bocado y se había ido. El sag paneer era asqueroso. También encontramos pelo en nuestra comida. Si quieres una buena comida ‘india’ dirígete a Bombay Delight en Wimbledon.

Food was good but there service was really poor and when we was giving the order it came really late after that we was telling them we need to pay they was forcing us to give them cash and they was asking us 6 time to pay by cash but we didn’t have cash that much so we said we want to pay by card after that they become rude and didn’t wanted to give us the receipt

When in London you must try Lahore Kebab House. The lamb chops, seekh kebab, tandoori chicken leg, nihari and karahi are must have try’s. Go with a large group of people if you can so you can sample everything. For those of you from the States, this reminds me of Aga’s in Houston

We arrived, there were seven of us We were given a table After 10 minutes the waitress said to us, have you chosen? I tell him well there’s no card She brings back 2 cards except that there were 7 of us She stays standing with her pen I tell her we will call you when we have chosen 10 minutes later She takes the order and doesn't even ask us for the drinks Once the order arrives things are missing and the waitress disappears And then I quickly understood that she had to eat, she was at the back of the room eating Serving 1/5 Atmosphere 1/5 I do not recommend this restaurant because there are no servers around and the dishes are full of spice.

Nihari was tasteless. Onion bhaji was good though.

The worst restaurant I have ever been in London. The Food was between poor to average. The service was awful it’s like the staff didn’t like serving customers. We all felt uncomfortable sat in this restaurant. Unfortunately bad experience waste of our time and money. The restaurant was clean I give them That.

Lahore Kebab House in Whitechapel delivered a fantastic dinner experience with delicious, authentic flavors. The kebabs were perfectly spiced, and the curries were rich and flavorful. Service was attentive and efficient, though the place was a bit too noisy for our taste. Still, the food made it well worth it. Great spot for a hearty meal!

One of my favourite Pakistani places in the Commercial Road area. It's not as noisy as Needo's or as rammed as Tayyabs. The food is excellent, especially the lamb chops, it's BYOB. Quiet on a rainy Thursday. Service is fast. Recommend it (and so does the daughter).

Last visit with my friends really enjoyed the food this time is very disappointed with the food lamb chop was salty korai gosht taste it like very plain curry no taste of garlic , ginger or tomato. Sag gosht very oily lacking flavour seem like meat mix with spinach. Lamb tikka was ok Sheek kebab wasn’t like last time this time little bit burnt but flavour less just had ginger …very less flavour of garlic , green chillies or herbs or spices. Tandoori roti was good. Keema Nan didn’t look good very amateur keema was lacking flavour. Tarka Dall was the best tasted really good. Lastly my friend goes there regularly end up with food poisoning.

i am very disappointed to write this review, but this restaurant experience was not that great. Called the waiter many times to bring us drinks, plates and cutlery was not clean at all, tables were sticky but overall the food was alright.

overhyped and overpriced as the curries are very generic. I would not say its home style, but rather less than. I was expecting more flavour and originality, the lamb curries are ok, but i’m extremely disappointed by the butter chicken which was just a regular chicken curry with extra butter. I could not taste or smell ghee, ginger, garam masala, almond powder or cream, which are all components of high standard home cooked butter chicken.

I had the chicken tika roll it was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! The amount of onion was ridiculous. Once i tried it i was disgusted and disappointed. I couldn’t force myself to eat more than half. Absolutely disgraceful!

This restaurant has been here for much over 30 odd years, then the food was 2nd to none AT THAT TIME went there very recently and found the food to be not of hhe quality is should have been those many years ago, kebabs were like hard rubber, no tissue paper given to wipe hands/fingers, it was pretty much empty when we arrived, that tells you the establishment is not very good, I'll never go there again, staff were polite though, I felt we were served with the days leftovers, if you want a very good Pakistani cuisine, go to lahore one restaurant, it's opposite the McDonald's on the commercial road, London E1, the kebab rolls are awesome there

I tried Nihari which was absolutely delicious. But the service was poor and the cleanliness was not so good. Floor is always sticky. It’s my second visit. Still I like the them for food only. But they must focus on their service level and cleanliness.

I am so disappointed by our recent visit. We ordered the: Chicken Karhai, but what we received was more like a Chicken Salan. Chana Masala, was more akin to a watery Curry. The dish lacked the richness and flavour that one would expect. Additionally, the Chicken Tikka Roll was notably off-putting due to an unpleasant odor emanating from the chicken, which was stinking. Sadly, every item we ordered was a source of disappointment. This is not a true representation of Pakistani food and given this experience, we regretfully will not be returning.

I’m no great foodie - but being of Indian decent and South African, I guess we understand good food. Let me also say I’m not a fussy eater in general but given this experience I thought to comment this time. Entering the facility, It was busy and I must say welcoming with friendly smiles - usually a good sign but what a disappointment - this is no dinner eating experience but rather some version of an eating house at best - I frequent street food and this place is also an insult some of the better eating houses out there. How can anyone rate this a 4 amazes me. Taste was not to par or maybe my understanding of Indian/ Pakistani food being delicious spicy aromatic food is all wrong ???watery mix with some spice. Looking for a good experience - personally I’d say Rethink this choice - or try perhaps thier grills which others seemed to enjoy - all three curries I tried were subpar - not quite sure which version of butter chicken or gosht Karahi we had - I’m still trying to figure this out. Chana masala felt like a Chana watery soup. Common guys - lastly please don’t call that thick round thing you serve a naan - you can do better.

Busy place, very simple set up, nothing flash. TV in corner showing sport. Chairs very basic and weird but oddly unexpectedly comfortable enough. Service was rapid. The menu is fairly standard. Lamb chops not as good as they used to be but the curry dishes were superb. Price reasonable. Service had to be paid in cash oddly.

This is an institution, not a mere restaurant. Food is always excellent, staff efficient and bringing your own alcohol a bonus.

Seekh kabab and lamb chops are very nice. The service we received on the night was even better than the food. The older gentleman in the suit, possibly the owner, was walking around the restaurant floor and kept checking up on us himself as we went with our baby. The staff were also very accommodating with the baby stroller and moved the table etc.

Vinimos a Londres para una visita rápida y nos encontramos con este lugar, primero mientras estábamos comiendo los camareros vienen y dijeron que necesita pagar la cuenta ahora, así que mi esposo dijo que mis manos están sucias, pagaré una vez que termine, pero el camarero fue como no y llamó a otro personal para conseguirle pañuelos de papel para limpiar sus manos para que pueda pagar. Quería levantarme e irme en ese punto, pero continuamos. La comida fue decepcionante, no comimos mucho, pero avanzamos rápido hasta hoy, todos estamos enfermos por la comida y éramos 3

This has been my favourite curry house for 25 years. Had 2 average at best visits now and I am really disappointed. Dry lamp chops and mixed grill which is my favourite part… gutted 😞

Ordered; lamb chops, chilli paneer starter, chicken tikka masala, dry lamb and some butter naans. Service was top notch and the food was amazing. Have this food at any standard curry house you will be in a food coma within 20mins of finishing. This food is made with fresh ingredients and it really shows in the flavour. My only complaint and concern is that the chops seem to be flattened with a mallet in the prep process. This led to razor sharp shards of bones in every piece. One chop was completely inedible due to the numerous fragmented bone shrapnel bits Almost chipped a tooth multiple times during my meal. For a place known for their chops, more care must be taken in prepping these. Can seriously injure your customers!
