Lots to say on this, but in summary, the curry itself was very average, the tables are cramped, service is rushed (they want your table back asap) and toilets downstairs are very tired & dirty. We were there on Friday night and it was ram-jammed to the point of getting nudged every few minutes by waiting staff and very loud. Really no need to return, there’s much better locally.

My partner and I ate here in late June 2021. The only criticism we could make was that my partner’s tomato rice was rather soggy, but in all other respects the food was excellent. Our chicken and lamb signature dishes were fresh, hot and delicately spiced. Portions were very generous and the service was very good. All COVID regulations were adhered to and we felt very comfortable. For around £66, including starters and wine, we felt we had good value. It was just a pity that there were so few diners- the manager thanked us personally for coming and said that the shortage of visitors to London because of the pandemic had had a negative effect on his business. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good South Indian meal in the Bloomsbury area.

Been on my bucket list places to eat at for a long time and was pleasantly surprised. It’s your standard canteen style affair with a good choice of regional staples, a vegetable option meats and bread. The spice level is mild/medium and on the smaller size but put together it’s adequate. Very flavourful and authentic, price wise very reasonable for central London and very popular with locals.

Solía amar a Pilau.

We were surprised when we entered the foyer and were directed through a traditional bar to the dining area, I guess previously where buffet breakfasts were served. All the staff very pleasant and helpful. Meal was good (we had a Groupon) although the samosa starter could have been hotter. Lamb Rogan and Butter Chicken very tasty. Poppadoms were strange, 1/2 a proper one then tiny crisp like ones. Rather strange tat they also did take away.

If you are carving for some spice this is quite close to the warren street and tottenham court road stations
