Fantastic Goan restaurant. We went for the Goan only menu and could not be more pleased. Great food, all freshly made - Xacutti, Vindaloo (vinha d'alho), fish curry. Great selection of veggie dishes as well. I have just found my new go-to place with good food and good service. Thank you Mr. Dias!

Thirty years of family ownership. Great location (near the Museum), with great outdoor seating available (inside diningroom is kind of stuffy). The Vindaloo was the high point for me; spicy and delicious! Chicken Tikka Masala, a popular dish, is very sweet, so might ask them to add some Vindaloo sauce if you like it tangier. Entrees were a little small, but gets you a chance to order more different dishes! Selection of Indian beers. Well worth a stop!

Myself and my partner have been coming here every few weeks for nearly a year now, even right now while we’re both kind of broke. We will continue to do so. The food is fantastic, the best curry i’ve had in london and the owner is always so kind and up for a friendly chat. We always get the same thing, which I imagine isn’t their priciest order, but we are never pressured to spend more (which makes a massive difference and keeps you coming back to a place). The same certainly can’t be said of other restaurants in the area, and particularly the road. Would give 10 stars if I could.

Went to Palms of goa and were disappointed when we choose items which were listed as from Goa and cooked in different style to south and North Indian dishes. Looks like standard paste used for dishes which are premade. Fish curry was a big disappointment which was supposed to be cooked Goan style. Tasted more like a paste used in cheap North Indian restaurants with pre made sauce. Began masala was average . Pumpkin curry was good and different. Again made with pre made paste but an item not many place offer. Spice level even after being told to make it spicy was targeted towards locals. Again because of premade paste. This place is NOT a goan inspired restaurant but another Indian joint.

As far as Indian food in restaurants within London goes, I found it to be decent and tasty. However it did not taste like authentic Goan food unfortunately. I was excited to see Prawn Balchao and also Xacuti on the menu, so ordered the Balchao in Chapatti and then Lamb Xacuti with Pilau rice. The Prawn Balchao roll had a good amount of prawns and was served with a salad garnish. It tasted ok, but lacked the classic tang of Goan vinegar and could've done with a bit more (chilli) heat. Still though, not a bad plate of food. The Lamb Xacuti was disappointing to me, as someone who loves this traditional dish. It lacked the coconut and spice balance that I've grown up and loved. Again, held up against curries at a lot of restaurants in London, it was a very decent one, just not what it should've been.

Wheres the flavour and spice????? Searched for a Thali restaurant in London and decided to try Palms of Goa based on the reviews, so I called and although they were busy with group bookings they kindly offered a booking at 20:30. We arrived and were promptly taken to our table for 4 and the place was busy as fairly small restaurant, viewed menu and placed order for 3 non veg Thali's priced at £22 each. The Thali comes with as pictured a tandoor chicken, small kebab, salad, Dal, 2 chicken pots Butter and other, lamb mince with peas, rice and nan, so upon arrival looked nice until we started to eat the food. Why the negative? Kebab was awful in taste The butter chicken was way too sweet The other chicken pot whatever it was had absolutely no taste/flavour of any kind, totally bland. The mince peas again lacking any flavour None of the 3 Thali:s ordered were finished or even half digested by us, so a total waste of £70 and left feeling hungry, so had to buy a takeaway later that evening for the kids. Yes busy, but I guess when your drinking alcohol you may not care about taste, we do and this failed in every way on flavour of food and spice

Really busy for a late Monday lunch which was a good and encouraging start. A warm welcome, and interesting menu with plenty of Goan fayre and other dishes not often seen. We ordered both the vegetarian and non vegetarian Thali, biryani, roti, naan and lassi. Plenty of food for four hungry adults and a entirely reasonable bill of £77. There's no service charge automatically added (I can't remember being in a restaurant when that happened!) and on reading about the restaurant, the owner was humble enough knowing his long running and successful business, would elicit a worthy tip. He and it did! We will be back as there's plenty more to explore on the menu.
