Delicious food and fantastic service

Friendly service. The food was very good. We had papadums, somosas, chicken korma and lal mass. As side dishes white rice and naan. All equally delicious. Highly recommended!

Great food had Seekh kebabs to start followed buy Chicken Jalfrazi. All freshly prepared foods excellent. My wife had chilli paneer to start and Saag paneer for her main Starter well spice however the Saag Paneer lacked spice tasted fresh and was nice. Great place for a curry. All staff were really pleasant and helpful.

Excellent food served quickly. Authentic flavours. Good value for money. Five stars.

Love this place! One of my fave restaurants in the area! The food is very tasty! Portions are good for what you pay as well. The service was good, they also helped us choose dishes. Will be back soon!

I wanted to try a local restaurant different to the nearby Premier Inn where I was staying. I went for a walk and chanced upon this Indian restaurant in Belsize lane. I don't often eat Indian food and i wanted try to try something different. I thought it was fantastic - best restaurant experience I have had for ages. The staff were very friendly and I thought the service was terrific. Really good value for money too. I ordered Punjabi Samosa with Popadom as a starter, Chicken Jalfrezi curry for the main dish with plain rice and garlia and coriander naan. Finished with pistachio icre cream dessert and all washed wond with a couple of Cobra beers. Couldn't fault anything - highly recommended if you are looking for a bite to eat in the Belsize park area.

Delicious food and very generous quantities. Special mention for their saag paneer and dal makhani! Everything was quite well prepared. We called in beforehand and placed our order. They had everything ready and still piping hot when we arrived. So bonus points for their service too!

If you love Indian food then this place won’t disappoint. From impeccable staff to the most fresh tasting melt in your mouth chicken . Garlic & coriander naan bread to top all naan. Just when you think it can’t get any better the coffee arrived. I honestly couldn’t speaker higher about this place and will definitely be back.

Good indian resturant with nicely staff. It isn't an expensive restaurant but the food is very delicious. if you pass by Swiss Cottage you have to come and eat here

Food has been consistent in taste and have always been tasty. On this visit we ordered 1. Punjabi samosa2. Tandoori prawn3. Paneer lababdar4. Mutton Rogan Josh 5. Butter naan, garlic naan and garlic laccha paratha

This is such a fantastic local gem. The waiters are friendly and willing to give you recommendations and the food is delicious. Next time you're in the area, give it a try (you can usually walk in without reservation).

The food was not tasty, we were really hungry so we had to eat it. We ordered Dal Makhani, Punjabi Chole and Bhindi. The Dal was okay okay, Chole was completely bland, the Bhindi was undercooked. Bad experience.

So I ordered from here on Deliveroo as I saw they served Nihari. I want to say a massive THANK YOU. To the chefs in this place for giving me the most AUTHENTIC curry/Nihari I have had in the UK (after my mothers of course). It’s now my new go-to for comfort food when I’m missing home. Thank you so so much. The nihari is a must try. If you don’t order it, you’re missing out. The samosa chaat was also delicious, although I wish there was a meat version. Still 10/10. I had a terrible experience at Hazara today. The service was bad and felt like the servers did not really want to serve. The food was very average. Veg food was not up to the mark

Ordered chaat - what was delivered to us was stale, watery mess. Pic attached. one of the worst plates of food we have seen.

The food and services were top notch, nothing to improve. Maybe the interior decor and atmosphere could be slightly improved to attract more customers walking by because I feel maybe people are missing out on the amazing quality as the interior isn’t on same level as the food and services, and thus may not entice people to try out.

I have been going here for nearly ten years. Food is always fresh and flavorful. Quality is just outstanding. Many original dishes in nice mellow atmosphere.

Our trip to Hazara was poor and a huge disappointment. I would not go again nor would I recommend it to anyone. The staff member who served us (bald, middle aged man) was incredibly rude and unhelpful. It was clear he had a vendetta against being helpful from when we walked in. What was particularly egregious was his dismissal of my question about gluten free items on the menu. My girlfriend is gluten-intolerant, I asked him “what does the gluten symbol mean, does it indicate gluten is in those dishes or that they are gluten free?” to which he palmed me off, not answering. Consequently we ended up ordering exactly the wrong items and my girlfriend ate dishes which CONTAINED GLUTEN. He laughed contemptuously when I asked him if my curry could be hot, drink orders were met with further contempt, asking for which wines the restaurant served he impatiently and brusquely informed us that we should “look at the drinks menu”. Sadly this is a bitter human being who enjoys going about being rude and unhelpful to customers. I strongly recommend avoiding Hazara. This is London - there are a multitude of other Indian restaurants available which are far better.

We regularly come here (as well as takeaway) as the staff are very kind and friendly, the food is delicious, very flavourful and authentic. Very nice atmosphere in the evening to come with friends or family. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good Indian restaurant!

I absolutely love this restaurant - the food is delicious, filling and authentic, the atmosphere is warm and ambient, and the staff are very friendly with excellent customer service! Would highly recommend, especially the chicken tikka masala and the cardamon ice cream pot.

Rather disappointing despite the recommendations that were given to me by the hotel Concierge. Food was oily, not very tasty and it lacked the Indian authenticity that I would have expected when dining at an Indian Restaurant in London. Worse still, the service staff were rather unhelpful and when I asked them to call me a taxi after dinner they refused and told me that they do not have any telephone numbers for a taxi. Thankfully in the days of Internet and smart phones one can help oneself, however, true hospitality is something else. I would not recommend the restaurant.

Cosy, traditional and delicious food that is always on point. So much variety in the menu and the chef is kind enough to come upstairs and ask you how you are enjoying the meal. Service is always warm and friendly - I highly recommend this high end one of a kind Indian restaurant!

Just tried it for delivery and seriously happy to find a decent new Indian restaurant... because it's not often lately I've had one this good. Home cooked feel to the delicious chicken curry. Fairly expensive but everything is these days and the ingredients seem fresh! Bravo the chef

Best mutton curry I've had in London. Very friendly staff, especially the gentleman from Pakistan. He served me and my friend even when the restaurant had just closed. Will visit again with friends and highly recommend to anyone looking for tasting authentic Indian cuisine.

We went to the restaurant for the second time since discovering it. Food was even better this time. Authentic Indian food as we know the cuisine very well. Delicious North Indian kebabs and superb vegetarian dishes. Our two servers Javed and Abu were very attentive even though the restaurant seemed short staffed. However, it was very nice to see the chef Peter running up and down the stairs helping out and still managing to talk to customers many of whom seemed regulars. Towards the end of the evening we complimented him on his exceptional food and great attitude towards customers. An excellent restaurant as I note the chefs are all from India having trained at the best hotel chains there and unlike most Indian restaurants in the U.K. which have Bangladeshi chefs many of whom use pre prepared curry sauces out of bottles and employ frozen ingredients. This is a firm favourite and the real deal.

Food was good, but were overcharged for poppadoms

Absolutely delicious food at a reasonable price with large servings. The attentive staff were lovely with quick professional service. The Multani Subzee was especially good, so flavourful and spicy, but everything was great.

We were spending the weekend in London , Belsize Park. What a find this restaurant was . We had the bell phuri starter , probably the best ive ever had . We both went for vegetarian main dishes . With lemon rice and nan bread . Everything was spot on , and the service was great to . 10/10

The best indian restaurant in town!!! The food and service is just exceptional. The chef and the staff are amazing! Been here a few times and always keep wanting to come back for more of their amazing food and service! An added bonus is this is my 2 year old son’s favourite restaurant!

Authentic tasty food, nice atmosphere when busy as it was. Despite a few (small and more than tolerable ) delays on food and drink, it was a great experience.

In one line: This place deserves a glowing recommendation for its authentic flavor. Since my visit to India last year, I haven't found an Indian restaurant yet which came as close as this one to the taste of the food as you have it in India. I had the onion Djali and chicken Tikka masala. Both were spot on as how I remember it (even to the spicyness for the tikka masala 😅). This place I recommend wholeheartedly to my Indian friends and colleagues. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For those passing by, I was able to walk in and eat (luckely), my timing was right. If you want to eat Indian as how you'll have it in India, try out the menu.

This establishment advertises Indian vegan options and has one app. Pls amend your menu. Edit: the owner response stated “plenty” of dishes. To be clear there was one item indicated vegan on the menu. Again, pls amend menu.

The staff is racist and not welcoming for Indians. When I entered with my phone in hand, he assumed I was a delivery boy and not to have dinner. Very cold staff, not welcoming, Did not have drink options I ordered, and very okay taste. Can avoid visiting this place.

I chose this restaurant based on reviews and location... There were 3 of us who all have a fairly good knowledge of Indian food and we all agreed that the food was of a standard that merited a re-visit. The quality and tastes were excellent. The only letdown was being asked to leave shortly after 1500 despite only being there an hour and 15 minutes. Their website takes reservations until 1445. Are punters expected to leave after 15 minutes? Still... I would go back

Since our last visit, this Indian in a peaceful part of London remans, peaceful. Decor unchanged, menu much the same. However only 2 (disorganised) staff so even with only 4 tables occupied, it was slow. That said once we had ordered, the food came quickly. The lamb Lal Maas speciality was excellent but lacked enough meat for £13.50. Dal Makhni was a dish we remembered, this time, much more sauce and less dal. Excellent butter nan and OK lemon rice. Indian wine was ...interesting,,, Several items we tried to order were "off" - spinach patties and the deserts which is always disappointing. Overall, the flavours were good and better than most Indian restaurants and you pay more for this.

My family and I liked this authentic Indian restaurant. We enjoyed carefully and neatly and well cooked, decorated and served foods. We wanted to come back often.

Sunday lunch. Great location in a little Belsize Park cafe hub. Nice interior. Attentive service and nice food. Biryanis are huge. Doggy bags all round. Good selection on the menu. Everybody enjoyed the experience, but £170 for a Sunday curry is rather dear. Guess that's what one pays for dining in trendy Hampstead\Camden borders.

Amazing first time been here . Nice customer service. Lovely Indian tea first Then I had chicken curry rice and garlic nan bread . I was happy because I requested to have potatoes in the curry and it made mild and I had a few slices of lemon . If you don’t ask you don’t get . HAZARA IS THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD TO HAVE FANTASTIC FOOD, AN AMAZING SERVICE AND AN INCREDIBLE COSY/POSH ATMOSPHERE. MY DAUGHTER AND I EAT THERE ALMOST EVERY WEEK AND IT'S LIKE OUR SECOND HOME TO US. WE'VE BEEN GOING THERE FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND FEEL AFFECTION FOR THE STAFF WHO IS ALWAYS VERY CARING. THE CHEF COMES UPSTAIRS FROM TIME TO TIME, HONOURING US WITH HIS LOVELY AND CHEERFUL PRESENCE, TO FIND OUT IF WE ARE HAPPY WITH HIS SUPER TASTY AND SOPHISTICATED FOOD, WHICH WE ALWAYS ARE!!!

I ordered chicken tikka masala and chilli paneer today and am left with severe stimach upset since, my partner too noticed this time the curry did not taste the same، very dissappointed as I previously ordered with no issue, this time we both ended up with Diarrhoea, I dont know it was because of undercooked chicken or poor quality of chicken or the way food was handled in your kitchens lacking required hygiene. Please pay attention. in response to your answer: I can very well recognise the sympthoms and am 100% sure it was due to eating food from Hazara today, people have dfferent levels of tolerance towards this type of food related stomach upset, especially if one is used to only high quality and high standard of hygiene, Not everyone comes with stomach of an ox, some people react immidiately to poor hygiene and poor standard of food preparation and quality. Thank you

Fantastic food! My friend, who is from South India, really enjoyed the flavours and found the spice levels to be accurate. I really enjoyed the fact that the mild food wasn't too sweet. Also fantastic customer service when we has issues with our order, they went above and beyond to get it sorted. If ordering take-out order directly, not through Deliveroo, to avoid complications. Great flavours! Will be back again soon!

The food was good and plentiful for this very early supper. Being the first group there meant no real service pressure and it was no surprise that service was quite good - it could have been better by topping up pickles and there was an error in bringing out as a starter a smaller dish ordered as a smaller main course. The place feels comfortable with tables not too close to each other.

Upon entering the restaurant we were politely brought to our table. We were given great advice on our questions about the menus. The food was really exceptionally good. The vegan options were also fully convincing. 100% recommendation.

Have lived in the area for 20 yrs, so have been to Hazara many times since it opened a number of years ago. Changed ownership at least once, which was a shame as the original chap was very charming. The food has always been very good, and continues to be so, but in recent years the table staff have been awful. Almost feel apologetic to them for going there and bothering them. The above was my review a couple of years ago or so. Stupidly, we kept going back as some of the food is admittedly pretty good. However, our experience last night (Sunday 5 February 2023) was 'the last straw'. I have, therefore, amended my review above from two stars to one and, with regret, will never go back. The service is utterly appalling. For instance, having finished my chicken tikka trio starter, I was staggered to witness the waiter take my plate and then contemptuously throw my dirty fork and knife down on the table in front of me, no doubt for re-use by me during my main course. My wife, who was equally shocked, complained and the waiter did condescend to remove the knife which was heavily soiled and to wipe up bits of the mess he'd caused in front of me on the table. When the main course arrived, I was not provided with a replacement knife, so I had to collect one from a neighbouring table which was empty. As my wife said to me, had we invited guests to the restaurant, we would have been embarrassed by the extremely poor quality of the service. On balance, it's just not worth it, and it does cost quite a bit for an Indian meal (with or without alcohol), even by the standards of London dining. We paid almost £70 for two and she did not have a starter and she only had one glass of wine. It's a lot of money to be abused, especially as there are plenty of much better alternatives around. Indeed, there is a better one just a few doors away... Much nicer staff in there and the food is not bad, either. The other point to note is that the incident above was not the result of some rogue temporary waiter popping up to abuse a few customers who will then move on fairly swiftly. There were only two waiters on duty at Hazara last night (Sunday night), and in my lengthy experience of the restaurant they've been there for years. One of the two is okay, although he will not be winning any hospitality prizes. It's the other guy that is the major problem. He prompted my complaint a couple of years ago and it is because of him that we shall never return. Bye-bye Hazara.

Was there last monday with my husband, everything was so mesmerizing and satisfactory, specially awadi ghost biriyani ,lamb chop was so delicious and gol gappas are all mouth watering,overall loved the place and hope going again soon.

The food was traditional and it was a great experience, especially meeting Mr Imran! I loved the Lamb Rogan Gosht - rich and flavoursome. Iive a bit far out but definitely good for the local people!

The paneer starter was okay, but the house special, Hazara Chicken, was like spiced chicken stock. The waiter was also quite condescending to my girlfriend after she made a slight error reading the menu. The mango lassi and Baileys cocktail was excellent, though.
