Solía amar a Pilau.

The food always tastes really good however this is the third time in a row I have visited and they can’t wrap a wrap! They overfill and when you unwrap to eat the wrap it goes everywhere! Good job the office is nearby to grab a plate and cutlery. Either provide training for staff or don’t offer the food as a wrap. Will definitely limit visits especially with the great options nearby.

Went a few times to Goodge Street outlet as I work around there. Firstly, the portion size of the boxes has become significantly smaller, and now it seems that the wraps have also become much smaller. I paid £7.50 (incl 50p extra for some tomato) for a wrap full of rice and some small pieces of chicken. Those wraps used to be a reasonable portion, but they have cut sizes (..which the lady working there actually confirmed..) to an extent that I am still hungry now. Better alternatives around there are Planet Organic (£7.00 for a proper filled, good-quality lunch box) or Coco di Mama (Italian)

Ordered the butter chicken. Chicken is very poor quality, very dry just covered in a cheap mango sweet sauce and rice was hard. Couldn’t finish it.

We never intended to stop here for lunch but were intrigued by the Indian Street Food Grab & Go concept (being development chefs in London researching food trends). There are no sit down standard tables, only benches along the walls which lends itself to the quick eats street food scene. The staff were friendly and explained the concept well. Not having an extensive menu is a good idea. Simple idea, simple food. The choices sounded interesting so my colleague went for the coconut chicken rice bowl and I opted for the Chickpea Wrap. Unfortunately, we do not feel that it lived up to expectations. My chickpeas lacked in flavour and were not cooked through till soft and the sauce was very watery, making eating the wrap impossible. I had to get a tray and use a fork. The coconut chicken again, was watery and none of the sauce was very visible in the bowl. I do have to say though, the mint & cucumber homemade sauce was lovely. Light & refreshing. The offering of toppings was great too, especially considering you can choose up to 4, which is really good. I think the whole basis is brilliant and with a little more thought around ‘Indian street food’ flavours, consistency and authenticity, this could be even bigger than it already is.

The food was delicious although the portion size was slightly on the smaller side although it was relatively filling to be fair. Voted down because the 'meal deal' wasn't available as the naan balls weren't available even though we came only an hour after opening. Also found it strange that a staff member was wearing gloves to take out salad etc for the rice boxes yet was using her phone (which are known to harbour germs) in between serving.

I decided to try out Pilau for my lunch after colleagues have been raving about how good it is! I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was and at such great prices! The staff were lovely, as it was my first time they were helpful in explaining the menu and giving me advice on what to try. I was also intrigued to learn that Pilua do amazing things for charity. It's always a nice to know that young business owners are giving back in such a great way! If you haven't been already, go!
