The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Indian food

If there is zero star, I would have given that. The owner was arrogant and full of attitude. The restaurant was empty on Saturday night which told the story outcome.The food was horrible, the worst Indian food I have ever had and we have dined in hundreds of Indian restaurants in the UK and around the world. The lamb tasted like rubber. The Butter Chicken was dry swimming in a bland creamy sort of “curry-like sauce”. Food has no presentation and no taste. There was only 2 other customers from out of town oblivious to what was to come. If you enjoy microwave heated food, give it a try!

The curry was too watery for us and tasted pretty bland, and was cold. The chicken was really dry too. I also thought it was overpriced (charging the same price for lamb and chicken tikka when lamb is a lot more expensive). We won’t be using them again.

Been eating at Sundarban over the years. Never fails to produce good food and lovely friendly and efficient staff. Thought we'd try their Elvis night. We arrived early as didn't want to eat late and it worked well. As for Elvis.... Don't expect anything but a good laugh and songs you know.

We really enjoy the experience of eating our, both service and the food. Both were excellent here. It was a Saturday night and we were not rushed. We have struggled to find many Indian restaurants locally where spicing is good, but this one hits the spot. Food is outstanding, well cooked and there was nothing to fault. A bonus is it is bring your own alcohol meaning we could enjoy some lovely wine with our dinner. Will we return - absolutely. This is one of two stand out Indian restaurants locally for us. I've reviewed before but have to review again because it's just *that* good. I've been here about 5/6 times now for food, wouldn't go anywhere else now if we're after a curry. The food is unreal, tastes homemade - not like the generic sauces you get in every other Indian restaurant. Portion size is brilliant (do not order more than one portion of onion bahjji 🤣). They definitely don't scrimp on meat, the lamb is my favourite, always so tender! My kids absolutely love it here as well. Management and staff are always lovely, really friendly - I even got a compliment on how old I look so brownie points there ha! Would definitely recommend, little hidden gem in the middle of Sheldon, who'd have thought! Thanks staff again for another lovely dinner!

Went tonight without booking and got a table for three of us. Quite busy but plenty of room for us. Nice and warm and very attentive service. Starters and mains were lovely. Good portions . Tandoori King Prawns and a Korma and Butter Chicken for mains. Plenty of sides - everything plentiful, hot and tasty. Coffee to finish - really nice drink. Staff really friendly, polite and very serious in making sure we had enjoyed everything. I would recommend it. Priced very fairly too.

Excellent food and customer service. The menu isn't extensive but adequate. Like eating quality restaurant food but at home.

very disappointed ordered a lamb curry was very small and had hardly any meat most of it was sauce i asked for tomatoes with salad they refused and said our salad does not have them i was amazed i never before seen this , they was only us in a what used to be a busy restaurant i will never go there again

A good experience, nobody missed the meat! Great for a sharing meal with friends. Lots of choice. Lots of locals returning

Takeaway order , late as per usual, but this time mega late. To top it all off the rude staff ordered me to sit down where there clearly was no space and so , after taking the hint they wanted me out of the way . I went outside in the cold to wait. After waiting an unbearable long amount of time, I came away without food and of course after giving them Full payment. I’m a long time customer dating back to when the place opened, but no more. Saffron please keep the money for the food and loose a regular customer. Penny wise pound foolish. Oh and I’d suggest you never order a customer to sit down where there clearly isn’t a space again. Amazing food, fantastic staff, Perfect atmosphere....I would not eat anywhere else. This is the best food, perfectly spiced and beautifully presented.

Absolutamente, el mejor restaurante indio en el que he estado en siglos, y créeme, voy a un montón. La comida estaba fuera de este mundo y grandes porciones también a un precio muy, muy razonable. Ambiente muy limpio y cálido, el personal era tan amable y nada era demasiado problema. Fui recomendado por un amigo que va mucho allí y sin duda les contaré a todos sobre este tesoro escondido. Puedo recomendar el pollo Kadai, absolutamente delicioso. La mejor experiencia gastronómica en mucho tiempo. Gracias.

Curryholics is the best place to go on the island, went to see them asked for the hottest curry wasn’t as hot as I would of liked on my first visit so went in again on my second visit asked the two men in front of shop if they could make it hotter for me which they did and succeeded, nothing was too much or an issue food as got so much taste and flavours 10/10 from me always and big compliments to the chef, all staff are polite and very friendly thankyou so much will be back again that’s for sure.
