Saffron in Oldham

Five star plus more fantastic food value for money got to be the best in Oldham so far staff so polite and make you feel welcome

We dine in and on the odd occasion have a takeaway. Staff are really lovely. Extremely efficient service. Can't do enough for you. Food is always good. We consider ourselves regulars now. We probably visit twice a month, saffron is now our main go to restaurant for Indian food. Food always tastes freshly cooked and they not shy with the spices, just the way we like it!

From starters to main meal was spot on the lamb shank and the fish was perfect.The staff was excellent made our night will definitely returning. Thanks for a good evening.

Ive eaten here a handful of times following a recommendation. The food and service is always great. Its nice to find a local Indian which ticks all the boxes. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are very polite. I really like coming here mid-week.

We love Asian food my wife and i visited this restaurant the other evening,it was very busy but the staff were great really on the ball looked after you even though as i said it was really busy.The food was good too we will definitely be returning again so well done Team Safron.

On recommendation, my husband and I, plus friend went to Saffron on Christmas Eve. Very friendly welcome on arrival by one of the very smartly dressed servers. The customer service all through was second to none, excellent!! When asked, they took the time to talk us through various dishes we had not tried. I tried a sea bass starter, cooked perfectly and delicious as were all the dishes. When our friend tried a dish she had not had before (butter chicken) she found, although cooked perfectly, it was a little sweet for her taste, one of the waiters asked her if it was ok. When she told him, he immediately asked her what she liked and within minutes brought her a different dish, which she loved. No charge. What fantastic service!!!! We will definitely be back soon!!!

Very good portion sizes and very tasty main meal. Rice and naans very nice and the service is very friendly and efficient. I only give it 4 stars as I felt a little claustrophobic going in as the place was packed and it’s not that big a restaurant and the prawn purée wasn’t the best I have ever had but was still tasty.I will definitely go back though to try out more dishes on the menu.

Delicious food and a brilliant selection on the menu! We ordered takeaway for the first time and we’re impressed with the really well-cooked lamb kharahi and tandoori mix grill. We also had a paneer pakora which was really tasty, we’d love to see more paneer options on the menu. We’ve tried lots of takeaway restaurants in this area and we can’t fault Saffron ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

The food was so tasty that I can still feel in my mouth. And the service was really good. All the staff are so polite and go extra mile for you. Tried one of their mocktail. Strawberry mojito. So nice and refreshing.

This was my first visit to Saffron on the recommendation of a friend. The online ordering was simple and easy to manage with a choice of time slots available. I turned up and told the staff I had come for a collection. I was asked my name and was shown to a seat. The restaurant was very well decorated, and the staff were smartly dressed and welcoming. The restaurant was fairly busy, and there were already people waiting, so I wasn't sure if my order would be ready or not, but there was no indication given by the staff. After 20 mins of waiting, I was asked for my name a second time and asked if I'd like a drink while I waited. The waiter then said it would be another 5 minutes. My order did eventually arrive around 25 minutes after the time given online - which wouldn't have been a big deal if it had been communicated when I arrived, but to just be left sitting there was a little disappointing. The food itself was mostly good. I had a mixed starter - two pieces of chicken tikka, an onion bhaji, and a seekh kebab. The chicken was lean and tender, but the tikka flavouring was quite subtle. Equally, the seekh kebab and the onion bhaji were nice, but the flavours didn't jump out. The curry I ordered was tasty and a good portion size - I'd hoped for a little more spice, but it was still good. The keema naan was lovely and soft and had a great flavour, but I felt there could have been a little more keema in it. The chana bhaji was well cooked, but "lightly spiced" is an understatement - I'm not sure it had any spice. Similarly, the Tarka Daal was very lacking in seasoning. I know lentils are not the most exciting food, but it's definitely possible to elevate them, so that was a little disappointing. If I lived a little closer, I would give it another go quite soon - perhaps on a quieter night - but as it's a 25-minute drive each way to get there, I don't see myself making a special trip there, but if I'm in the area, I would try it again. Overall, a lovely restaurant with pleasant staff and quality food - just a little lacking in seasoning/spice for me (not that I want REALLY spicy food, just something with a bit more punch). I would recommend it if you are nearby - especially if you like milder dishes.

My wife and I went for a nice meal and I hate to be writing this because oddly the night was very disappointing in that the food was awful, for the first time in all our visits. I ordered a Lamb Pathia with Pilau Rice, the rice was stuck together in big clumps and I had to cut lumps with my knife to break it up, the lamb was fatty, chewey and unplesant and i can't even describe the sauce, my wife's meal was not much better. I complained about the meal and I have to say the staff were excellant in dealing wih my complaint offering to get another meal for me which I did not want after this experience. the cost of the meal was deducted from the bill and we were given a gift voucher for money off on another visit. My wonder is it was a very quiet night and if they had a new chef or someone not used to cooking in the kitchen because the food as always been excellant before and we have recommended them to many freinds and family. Very Disappointed

My husband, son and I went here on father's day. We had 3 poppadoms and dips, 1 onion bhaji starter, 1 shared mixed starter, 2 pilau rice, 2 garlic naan, 3 Currys, 3 cobra, 2 appletiser and a pint and half of lemonade. It came to £97.40. That's the last time we'll be going there. Way way too overpriced.
