Waterhead Tandoori in Oldham

We have been going to waterhead Tandoori for quite a few years now, and after promising we will leave a review, it's not before time. If you want excellent well prepared and cooked food, this is the place. The food is always excellent, the service is prompt, the premises are so clean you could literally eat your meal off the floor, and Al, is the nicest most polite guy you could ever hope to meet. He's always pleasant, upbeat, and is genuinely interested in how your day has been. The chefs are on full view hard at work, and everything seems to run like clockwork. Myself and Christine, cannot recommend this place enough. Thanks again to Al and his team of excellent chefs, we will continue to buy our curries from this clean, pleasant, well run establishment. Keep up the good work guys.

Second time ordering here and the food was top notch. We had the set meal for 2 which was more than enough for 2 adults and a 9 year old. Wonderfully tasty, not oily at all, just really good food and really great value for 3 of us. Our favourite Tandoori place.

Nice staff, food good but slightly pricier than other takeaways in the area.

Ordered a chicken nan , which was processed chicken cubes no taste whatsoever, watery ! Also it was just full of onions , rogan Josh different chicken? Tender! A lot of money for what used to be a top curry place

I have been using Waterhead Tandoori for years. Absolutely the best Indian cuisine about. They cater for individual taste and whatever you choose the quality of the food never disappoints. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We travel 40 round trip, that says it all!

Absolutely amazing kebab, the sauces are also amazing, the prawn Puri is one of the best I’ve tasted, can’t fault this place honestly

Had high expectations for this place after ordering a donner and chips after a long day at work. Was greeted warm and friendly smile told the guy I want donner and chips he goes do you want brown donner it doesn't really taste nice immediately heads racing with doubt I ordered it big thic chunks of meat discusting will not go here again had to bin the whole thing besides that had a red mark on my donner don't know what it is but doesn't look appealing please feed the people of oldham with food you would eat your self

I ordered a takeaway after reading the reviews. What a disappointment! The food was completely tasteless and very expensive for what I ordered. I would not recommend this restaurant. Having said that, the service was good, just the food that let it down, and that's what I went for!

Ordered a vegetarian paneer curry last night, upon bringing it home I found it was chicken. The things from my order that I could eat were very nice, just like the food I’ve had from here previously, however far more attention needs to be paid to dietary preferences.

Fabulous takeaway as always, from ordering to collecting was 20 minutes and all the food was hot and delicious. Best curry in oldham!!

I don't understand what they are trying to sell. Never seen a restaurant selling starters with added colour. First time I had grill. Chicken tikka was undercooked was ages ago. Gave a second chance today. So I had seekh kebab. It tasted like curry rather than a grilled kebab and it was red. Not sure what kind of side sauce they give you. It's neither a yoghurt, chillie or a mango sauce. Just weird looking and tasting sauce. Not sure about curries. Never had them. But review is about starters

Called in at Waterhead tandoori for a large order for the chaps on my nightshift, every curry was delicious and the latest edition to the menu the tandoori nights kebab was one of the best kebabs I’ve had, 4 of us at work shared 2 of these and still didn’t finish them, highly recommended 👌🌶

Visited now on 2 occasions and did not disappoint 1st visit last week, Special Mix Kebab, just amazing taste and flavours. 2nd visit Friday evening, Chicken Tikka and Donner Kebab, Sylheti Bakor Bhuna, Pilau Rice and Chappati, all so tasty and flavoursome can't fault any of it. One of, if not the best I've tasted for a long time.The place is Spotlessly Clean and the staff are Wonderful. Gotta go and give it a try folks we'll worth a shout

After years of traditional christmas dinner this year, we had a change and had meals from waterhead tandori .Mo Al and his team did not disappoint 5 different curries cooked to perfection and everyone was very happy probably be a new family tradition now at Christmas 👍

The best food around, very friendly staff, highly recommended

We’ve had two take aways from here recently, both ordered via Deliveroo. The curries (Tikka Masala and Biriyani) were very nice and both times delivered within half an hour. I would recommend the tikka paneer starter.

Waterhead Tandoori is our go to take away for great traditional Indian food. We’ve been customers there for years and the quality of food and service is always a consistently high standard. Ali and his team are friendly and knowledgeable and go out of their way to provide a first rate experience.

Love this place and Al and the chefs are brilliant and so friendly. Had a wonderful meal tonight, as we always do. The meat and vegetarian selections are excellent and we wouldn't go anywhere else.

Absolutely fantastic, the food was beautifully cooked and the lamb melted in the mouth. One of the best things about the waterhead tandoori though was the exceptional service and attentiveness of Al who served me and if you collect in person you can see how clean the kitchen is . 💯 %

I ordered from here and the food was that off that it smelled I ordered a mix shashlick kebab it was over £10 and soon as I opened it the meat smelt off!!! very bad experience first time I ordered never doing that again I didn’t even eat the shashlick very very bad!!! They need reporting to food and hygiene standards!!! Absolute disgusting shame on u!!! Times are so hard as it is and u order food spend money so u can eat nice and instead u get rotten food if I ate that I would have defo got food poisoning!!!

Fantastic food and service, first time ordering from Waterhead Tandoori and it won't be the last. We ordered the balti exotica and syhleti special. Both had alot of flavours and taste. The food was fresh and super hot, we asked it for extra spicey 🔥🔥🔥 We also ordered garlic nan and mushrooms rice, again you can taste the flavours and the fresh dough. I would highly recommend to family and friends. Open kitchen nice and clean, and the there is a nice waiting area. Thank you AL for the recommendations will be ordering again very soon. 👊🏼

Fantastic takeaway! I’m not exaggerating when I say that the afghani is the best curry I’ve ever had anywhere. I live in the north east but whenever I am back in Oldham visiting friends or family the first place I go to for food is waterhead tandoori. Compliments to the chef and the manager for running such a great restaurant.

Normally I would recommend this place highly for the delicious curries and authentic dishes and also the special mix kebab I was upset to find the chicken tikka kebab I had tonight only had a few pieces of chicken on a naan hardly a kebab very disappointed unfortunately

First take away since this madness began. Busy day moving son so phoned on way home to order. Ready a bit later than they said, picked up no problem. Really hot food, beautiful , tasty dishes, catered for son's dietry requirements, all thoroughly enjoyed our food. Thank you Waterhead Tandoori

Not been here before for a takeaway but obviously read the reviews. Very glad I did.Lamb chops, king prawn puri, popadoms. Really tasty. The king prawn puri...full of king prawns. I mean FULL!!! A selection of mains; chicken tikka, biryanis, mixed tikka tandoori. The mixed tandoori was epic, huge! The meat was fantastic. I was really really impressed and will definitely be coming back.

I haven’t tried curry here but I spoke to guy he was very honest, the donner kebab, is in my opinion one of the best in Oldham, freshly cooked and delicious. Well worth a visit

My family have recently started coming to this Tandoori and everyone in my family loves it! Service is quick, food lovely and staff are very nice when you come in to collect. I am quite a fussy eater and vegetarian but they were more than happy to put some tikka sauce in a container for me as I really like the sauce. Would definitely recommend!

We have literally never had a bad meal from this takeaway. The staff are always friendly especially Mo. Price is good and waiting time usually around 20 - 30 mins.

Lived near here for 3 yrs and finally tried it. Really surprised at the quality and taste. Excellent depth of flavour, tased fresh and well made, not covered in oil like most if them. Definitely be going again.

Waterhead Tandori is the best indian takeaway in oldham bar non the chefs are top quality and all the food is cooked from scratch right infront of your eyes. Mo runs a tight ship and keeps standards high 5 star food try it !

I was reccomended this curry house by a freind . My family placed an order and my order came wrong . I have had to phone a different takeaway and the best they could do to compensate was offer us a free curry next time . Next time ? This is my favourite takeaway. I have never had a bad meal yet. It's our go to place when the family want to order a curry. The only downside i can think of is it's collection only but it's not a problem unless your feeling a bit lazy.
