Picklelicious Curries in Wakefield

Excellent curries! Real quality food, I had lamb handi which was very nice, the lamb was on the bone, quite dark to look at, plenty of sauce and very tastey, a good few mouthfuls and it sets your head on fire. Really nice! It was the best curry I have had in a long time! Wife had butter chicken, she really enjoyed it too it had big pieces of chicken and was fragrant, i had a nibble and that was tastey too. We got poppadoms which looked really good and tasted fresh, it wasnt two or three round cheap poppadoms it looked like one big one cracked and put in a box and the two dips mint and yoghurt for them, they tasted fresh too. We thought the curry sizes were a good size and we shared a portion of chips and rice and that did us both, at first i thought the naan looked small but once i started tucking in it really didn't need to be any bigger. I've never been to India but I imagine it tastes something like this! I collected at 20.15, I like to have a look when I first try, around 45 mins to collect on friday night. The shop was clean and smart looking, the staff were really welcoming and friendly and I could tell he wanted us to enjoy the food and wasnt just selling food, he explained the heat of our curries and asked me to leave a review etc. And the paper packaging is a welcome change, washed and recycled what we could 👍 Only thing was we thought that the naan breads were a little flat more like a chapatti than a fluffy bread, but thats really minor compared to the quality curry! And it won't t stop me coming back by any means. New favourite curry house, sorry abduls 😅 hope this shop does really well! We are looking forward to trying more on the menu. Thanks ✌️

I recently had the pleasure of ordering from Picklelicious Curries, an Indian take away in Wakefield, and I must say, it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations.

I visited Wakefield and wanted to have Indian food as I was missing home, so I ordered my lunch from Picklelicious Curries. I can't express enough how awesome the food was - it reminded me of India, and the taste was incredibly authentic! It felt like a home away from home. Keep up the fantastic work, guys!

After reading all the positive reviews I was really looking forward to this meal. Unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. The meat content in my chicken Karahi was negligible as it appeared to contain more peppers and onions than chicken. The pilau rice was basically bland tasteless boiled rice with a few bits of veg added so half of this ended up in the bin too. The only impressive part of this meal was the food packaging. I've enjoyed better quality meals costing a lot less money so unfortunately I will not be making a second visit.

Had a take-away from Picklelicious for the first time last night and it was delicious. We had the fish Pakora, and the Lamb Handi which was lovely, and refreshing in being on the bone.... also thank you for the beautifully light complimentary poppadoms. Would highly recommend, Regards, Angel

Amazing, very authentic flavours, massive portions, the lamb dish could do with a little more meat but I’m not knocking a star for that as this has to be the best Indian takeaway and I’ve tried a lot up and down the country so glad this is local and looking forward to trying more dishes from here.

The best and most legit curry I’ve ever had in Wakefield. So delicious, I will definitely be ordering from here from now on.

We absolutely love this place and the food is exceptional. We asked VJ if she could possibly cater for a birthday party- and if we could order food for 65-70 guests. She happily agreed and it turned out to be the highlight of the night. Everyone was blown away by the quality and taste. The food even got a round of applause! 88 people turned out for the party in the end and there was still food left over. Would highly recommend! Do try if you live in Wakefield!!

First time ordering from here and we will be ordering again! The food presentation was very nice and you could tell care had been taken with it. The food itself tasted amazing and freshly made! Plus the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend Picklelicious, you won't be disappointed!!! A+

The wife ordered on Saturday whilst i was out drinking with work colleagues. I came in late to find she had left me some butter chicken and rice! Wow it was delicious, however thinking this could just be the drink talking i ordered tonight. Butter chicken for me with lamb handi for the wife, jeera rice and naan bred. The flavour of both meals was outstanding, 100% will order again, 100% will tell others.

The food is amazing and plentiful It’s high end on price but the quality is worth it for a treat. You can tell it’s fresh and home made!

Simply the best take away curry I’ve had. Super delicious, really great portion and not greasy at all. Highly recommend the Lamb Handi.
