Best take away food for a while...

Can only comment on takeaway/delivered which we tried for the first time on new years and I have to say it was absolutely delicious best we have ever had a will definitely order again 👍🏼

I go here all the time as it is close to my house, it is one of the best indian restaurants in the UK

Booked for a table of 4 for a catch up. Firstly the staff are great & helpful. We got some amazing starters followed by the mains. 10/10

First time for me. Food is probably the best I’ve tasted, downside is prices for takeaways are just ridiculous these days! And are now classed as a luxury. But..I’ll be using these guys as my luxury takeaway in the future.

The Massla Room has definitely taken a nose dive in the quality of there take outs. Prices increased ( which is ok if you keep up standards), much less meat content and much higher oil content. I ordered a chicken tikka masala and a lamb rogan josh both laced meat both were full of oil and both went in the bin. The popadoms were stale and limp The Masala Room closed for a month and since your return your standards have dropped. Get your act together or I’m away

Just had the most lovely food. We enjoyed the fact it was quiet and seems like it would seat only about twenty diners. So it was very cosy and personal. The take aways go out at a great pace so you know the food will be fresh and the smell was fabulous. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We all had starters after our beautiful pickle snd popadom tray. Chicken Momo was very tasty and sadly not mine! However all the starters were good. Moving onto the mains - delish every one of them. Tender chicken with excellent sauces well cooked rice and superb Naan bread. We loved it and would recommend.

If I could 0 stars after tonight's fiasco I would. I orderd food at 19.56pm on Uber eats app for a delivery time of 8-8.30pm after numerous phone calls to the restaurant I finally got our food at 9.45pm after being told twice the driver had already left which was a total lie also got the same old excuse that were very busy. If your so busy earning plenty of money employ more people to get delivery's out on time and don't lie to customers. To eventually be told by the management or owner to contact uber eats as its there problem not ours will not be ordering from here again their customer service is one of the worse I have ever encountered not even any apologies or compensation offered. I was told about this place saying how good it was but after tonight I would say to anyone stay clear

Amazing tasty food that is consistent every time. Onion bhaji's are superb and I would not order an Indian takeaway from anyone else. Simply superb.

Saw this place on a lock-down walk. So we thought we'd try it for a takeaway. It's fabulous. Food was delicious. Portions were enormous. The starter for 2 was more like a meal for 2. They gave us free poppadoms. The madras we'd probably count as hot rather than 'quite hot' but that's all about how you like it. We'll definitely be back

A small but intimate restaurant that we decided to try as our first meal out for a long time. The restaurant seats approx 22 in total, was very clean and very covid organised and friendly and we felt very comfortable. We chose a variety of dishes; everything was superbly cooked to perfection. A fabulous chicken tikka masala and a delicious fish curry. Not swimming in ghee, fresh ingredients and the best naan I have had Inna good while! Despite being a busy takeaway also, it was very positive to see that restaurant customers were prioritised and as the takeaway orders stacked in the wait times were staggered accordingly. A bring your own beer restaurant, there were basic soft drinks available. So impressed with the quality of food we will be returning. The only slight downside was that no deserts or coffee were available, but given the circumstances it was understandable and we didn't feel let down. Excellent value for money.

Went with my wife this evening for the first time. The restaurant is small but nice with free parking right outside. The staff were attentive all evening and the food was stunning. Me and the wife both agreed it was the best curry we have had in years !!! The poppadoms and pickle tray were fresh and tasty and the nan breads were lush !!! Excellent value for money and now my number one restaurant in pontefract !!! Enjoyed it so much I booked in straight away for the same time next week !!!!

Travelled from York after a friend recommended this place and was worth the 40 minute drive. Amir was a great host and the food was excellent and will definitely go again. *****

I ordered a take away on Saturday evening. The lamb was tough but the sauce was ok. My mum had Chicken Tika Masala the sauce was bright red and disgusting. My mum said that th meat wasn 't chicken. She didn't know what it was. It was really hard dry cubes and difficult to get out teeth through. We should really have taken it back but did not want to go out in the cold. I wish I had saved some meat and had it tested by trading standards. It is the worst Indian I have ever had. I have seen there have been good reviews in the past but if the meal we had is anything to go by it will not stay open long i don,t know how anyone could have the cheek to serve such rubbish. I would not have wasted my money if I had known. All other Indian restaurants n Ponte are a lot nicer and Morrisons Chicken Tika Masala and Weatherspoons curries are much nicer. In fact you would be better with a tin of Pedigree Chum.

My three friends and I visited the Masala Room on the evening of the Thursday 14th November. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly, knowledgeable about each dish and ensured our complete satisfaction throughout. The popadoms and dips were exceptional. Our assortment of mains, breads and rice were full of flavour and extremely delicious. Fortunately, as regular customers we were able to redeem our loyalty card which made the meal exceptional value. We will definitely be returning

I'd been waiting for a decent curry house in pontefract for a long time. I work away a lot in towns and city's like Birmingham and Leicester so I like to think I know a good curry. We've been ordering from you guys from the day you opened,and every time its spot on,never disappoint,big thumbs up to your chef. Going to have to book a table and have a sit down soon👍 Best curry in town easily .

Have had both eat in and take away from the Masala Room. Never has a bad meal yet. Takeaways delivered hot and within the time stated. The restaurant doesn't have a license to sell alcohol. but the proprietor is happy for you to take your own. Give it a try - the title of my review says it all.

Came to eat for the first time i can say this beats the curry resturants in Castleford e.g red chilli, Desi etcThe portiton size was amazing get so much for your money, the chicken in the curry was so tender and big chunks of chicken. The taste of the curry was spectacular, usually there is left overs but today wiped the dishes clean. The staff was really friendly and lovely to speak to got a very warm honely welcoming feeling. The prices of the food and soft drinks where really great priced.I will be defiantly visiting the resturant again.5/5 rating

Visited this place a few times and it is spot on every time I just have to write a review. Service is excellent and the food is of great quality and very consistent. I haven’t had a bad meal unlike some places that are different every time. Keep doing what you’re doing.

We went for a meal with my wife. We decided to eat in instead of a take away. The service was brilliant and the food was just as nice. We had a lovely time.

The food here is actually really great here which led to to think that you should never judge a book by its cover. Excellent food and Friendly staff. If only they had a better location to put their business as it is absolutely amazing.

Ordered a Takeaway for Delivery on a Sunday night, it arrived on time and all the food was still hot, the food it self was Fantastic, great flavours and certainly one of the best Indians I have had.

The rave reviews on here made us give this place a try and it’s easy to see how it’s building up a decent reputation.

Found this little place when I was looking for a local Indian on a Monday evening and thought we would give it a go, firstly it’s just slightly out of town but plenty of parking right outside the door. it’s not the largest restaurant and it doesn’t have overly fancy decor but is immaculately clean, the staff are very nice and most importantly the food is great! It really is about the flavours and you can really taste the spices. Soft drinks are available but you can take your own alcohol. Altogether a fab restaurant and the takeaways are just as good, we live approx a mile and half away and delivery service no problem.

This restaurant is a bit out of the way, but it is well worth discovering. The food is top notch and on first impressions I would say the best in the area. The price is good too. A meal for 2 cost us approx £25 and you can take your own alchohol which is a bonus!
