Syhiba Restaurant in Wakefield

Visited tonight the for the 3rd time, we used to go around to different curry houses in wakefield but now Syhiba has become a regular for us as the food and price is incredible. Great food and the service is incredible. No place will beat the friendly waiting staff and the presence of Peter Andre he just makes the meal that extra bit better of an experience. The only thing I would say could improve is the table was a bit cramped on a couple of occasions. PS apologies I dropped a bottle on the way out but as always staff were great.

Tried this restaurant on reviews and stars from trip advisor and it definitely didn't disappoint. The staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. My favourite meal wasn't on the menu but it was no trouble for them to make it for me. The service was fantastic there was no corkage charge, we was given an ice bucket for the wine, fresh clean napkins between courses and fresh wine glasses due to us having a bottle of red and white. The Deco was lovely,fresh and friendly it was very busy which made a nice atmosphere. The food was amazing hot, fresh and full of flavour. To end the whole experience the bill was cheap making it really good value for money.We would definitely recommend this place and we will be back

Lovely food, Great service and well priced

Opting for a change from our usual venture into Bradford for a delectable dining experience, we three curry connoisseurs decided on trying somewhere closer to home, and Syhiba in Wakefield caught the eye. Visited here on a Tuesday early evening and we were lucky to be seated as the place was rocking and we hadn’t booked! After an enthusiastic and engaging sales pitch from the very friendly waiter, we all opted for the early bird special, £16.95 for poppudoms, a starter, main and sundry - which is what we would normally have ordered so all good. There were a couple of items that carried a surcharge, including fish starters ( £2) and the much lauded Charsi Karahi (£4), which was a new mediation to the menu and ‘a traditional authentic style of karahi’. Poppadoms arrived with the seemingly usual pickle tray, however this contained a wonderful surprise - a green garlicky dip that was instantly addictive, we had to call for 3 refills, all delivered with a smile and sage advice to stir the pot to ensure maximum taste. My jovial rotund chums opted for fish pakora as a starter, I went for chicken on Puri despite their wild protestations that I’d be full and wouldn’t eat my main. All starters were delicious, just the right amount of spice and very flavoursome. Onto the mains and 2 x flagship dish Charsi Karahi (Asian style hot of course!) and 1 x karahi chicken and spinach, with garlic & coriander naan, chapatis and pilau rice. The Charsi Karahi was really quite stunning, served theatrically in a cast iron frying pan, and extremely flavoursome. Chicken and spinach also was warmly received and dispatched with aplomb. I couldn’t eat all my Charsi Karahi so ended up taking half home with half a giant naan - much to the delight of my dining companions ‘you shouldn’t have ordered the puri for starters’ they said. Well I did and I was glad of it as now my Wednesday evening meal is sorted! The whole experience was delightful and heightened by the swinging background music which perfectly accompanied the laid back easy vibe. I’ll certainly be returning to try more of the menu, oh and you can bring your own beers too which keeps the bill down!

recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfying. The lamb karahi was undercooked in some parts, which was disappointing, especially since I expected a well-prepared dish. The biryani lacked flavor and seemed very bland – it was missing the richness and spices I was hoping for. On top of that, the rice quality was subpar, which made the whole meal feel less enjoyable. To add to the disappointment, the tap water in the restrooms wasn’t working, which reflects poorly on the overall maintenance of the place. For the price, I expected much better quality both in terms of food and facilities.

Been here for the first time to try the Syhiba restaurant and welcoming straight away when you walk in, took us to our table, Ash came to explain the early bird offer on to save us money but for the same portion size and go through the menu and spices with us, the portion size were excellent to say it was a deal, the normal size nan bread comes on a rack which we didn't expect and the taste was mouth watering with every bite, definitely coming back again and try other options on the menu.

Went for a meal New Year’s Eve and was greeted by Ash he went through the menu with us all and me and my wife ordered dishes from his recommendation and they were all absolutely delicious he asked us about spices that we liked and he got it spot on . All the staff were very welcoming. Ash was lovely, lively, welcoming and very informative. The lamb chops were excellently cooked and well seasoned and the special lamb and chicken karahi's (served in the pan after 30 mins cooking) were a taste sensation, the spicing was delicate and the meat just fell apart in the mouth. The mixed starter was also excellent quality with a variety of delectable dishes (the seekh kebab was tender and the bhaji was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle) 🤤🤤 We will definitely be back 😀😀

This place is amazing the early bird menu fantastic choice and value. They use some of the finest spices to give you that real orthentic flavours and textures. An the waiter Ash was really great at making everyone feel welcome and went in to detail about the your dish and and flavour from the spices.

Not eaten in One meal was so salty I couldn’t eat it The vegi dishes have hardly any veg in them So when I asked for extra veg I got charged an extra £2 If there was more veg and less sauce I’d be happy Dish tonight had I piece of courgette and a couple of red peppers Plenty of cheese I asked for extra veg ! No overly happy Wont return

Starters good, prawn puri and liver tikka. Had two prawn biryanis, not good disappointing flavours, no depth. Mushroom and potato balti was OK. Probably won't get takeaway from here again.

Syhiba is the best restaurant in the five towns to get an amazing curry! The food is absolutely amazing quality, the staff are absolutely delightful, all so friendly, funny and welcoming, and to top it off, the price is amazing. I have been many many times over the years, and have never once been disappointed, I’ll be going again for many more times to come

Best curry in the area…up there with Akbars in Leeds, only more friendly and lower cost (sorry Akbars - your lamb chops are still the best in the Universe) (Ash knows what he’s on about too (don’t tell him though))
