Syhiba Restaurant in Wakefield

Had an absolutely fantastic meal here. The dishes from starter to mains couldn't be faulted, very tasty and full of flavour. The rice was the closest we've ever tasted to home cooked rice. Ash, told us about all the process they chefs go through to prepare and cook the food (excellent knowledge) If we are ever anywhere near this area again definitely will come back and try some of the other dishes. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own. The place was very lively and busy, so best to ring and book a table in advance.

Ordered takeout, chicken tikka with salad, which only consisted of five small pieces of chicken and just lettuce with three pieces of onion also ordered a chicken madras, which was swimming in oil and definitely not a madras, massively over spiced and hot. Poor copy of the Sowerby bridge restaurant and absolute waste of money.

Absolutely awful food....I ordered a takaway- it was inedible- complete waste of almost £35 for 3 starters and one main dish....horrible noone could eat it so had to make food from home on top of spending £35. In what world is a chicken karhai cooked in a sauce that tastes sweet???? Disgusting and a complete let down to what indian/pakistani food tastes like....yuk. I ordered chicken wings- they were 2 inches long shrivelled up and tasted like they'd been cooked a month ago...they should have been fresh vibrant and full of flavour instead tasted like last weeks dried up left overs. I ordered masala fish- should have been marinated fish then fried. The fish was not marinated and in a coating of thick awful batter. I ordered marinated chops -the menu said 6 in a portion - only received 3- still charged full price Will NEVER EVER order from here again and nor will you if you've any sense

We visited recently for my birthday with friends and couldn’t recommend more. Great food, brilliant customer service and the deal they offer is brilliant value. Will definitely return and recommend to others.

We went on Sunday, with my partner, our little son and my dad who was in a wheelchair. The customer service from outside to entry and leaving was 2nd to none. Ash was brilliant throughout, helpful and made us feel at home and gave us some great recommendations. He also made it very easy for us and interactions were excellent. Fantastic food and customer service.. would deffo recommend.

We had a lovely meal as a large group here. The food was amazing and everyone loved their dish. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our waiter was Ash and he was great! The restaurant was really full so the atmosphere was great! I’ve been lots of times before and will always recommend!

I really wanted to love this place. Saw the rave reviews and thought it was about time Wakefield had a fantastic curry place that was only down the road from me. I love nothing more than heading over to Bradford and sampling what the city has to offer (for curries), so wanted to try something nearer home. There were definitely some plus points, thought the service was great (very friendly), starter was pretty good and also the naan. I don't think it was a terrible curry, but it wasn't memorable like I was expecting. Its probably a victim of its own success and rave reviews, pushing my expectations up. I'll definitely return, but do feel its a little over hyped due to the lack of quality curry places in Wakefield.

An evening to remember from being greeted from walking through the door to leaving. the restaurant was pretty busy and sorted us a table for 2 . The food ordered was delicious and tasty and definitely at an excellent price. A big shout out to our server wid who looked after us well . Thanks for a great evening. See you next time.

Wanted to try this place for ages & finally did on Thursday with my wife & girls. Excellent service. Very nice interior & atmosphere. Food absolutely spot on although the Madras was a little on the mild side for me so next time I’ll probably opt for the Vindaloo. The kids shared a butter chicken & obviously I had to mop up the sauce with a naan & it was exquisite! Will definitely go here again 👌🏼

What can I say another amazing meal. Wid finally convinced me to change from my korma butter chicken and it was absolutely gorgeous. All the staff are friendly and make us feel welcome especially ash, fletcher and wid. Service was fantastic and everything was so fresh and tasty

Thursday night...had a bit of a naff day so decided to raise our spirits with something to eat! We have driven by this place many times and it's always busy, so we decided to give it a try. One tip, make a booking in advance! They managed to squeeze us in (we had our table for an hour) and it was worth it...starters Liver Tikka and Fish Pakora followed by Chicken Dopiaza and Nambali Special with a family garlic naan. All the food was delicious and so reasonable all that came in at under £40...you can take your own alcohol, so that helps. Definitely de back for seconds!!

Delicious food. Very welcoming staff. They had an incorrect opening time on Google, but when we went they sat us down and took our order. The atmosphere was lovely. Really enjoyed the meal. I would definitely go again.

We ordered lamb curry and three naan. Curry was spicy even though we asked them not to make spicy. Garlic naan was burnt.

This is a restaurant I hve been going to for many years and never reviewed. What makes this the best Asian restaurant I know? Take your pick between the staff (who are excellent) and the food (which is excellent). The three guys who seem to have been there forever (on and off) Habib, Wahid and Saif will make your visit here a pleasure. There's no point in my trying to describe the food, it's just GOOD. Wahid, just keep on doing what you do best and I'll keep coming back.

We visited the restaurant this evening coming from Manchester - the food was so nice and you could tell it was used by fresh ingredients - especially loved the popadoms they were so crisp!! The mains were also really tasty - our host was Wiz who make us feel so relaxed - played with my daughter and nephew and creating this warm vibe - will definitely be coming again - keep up the fantastic service

This was our first time visiting from a recommendation and wow it did not disappoint. The food was clearly freshly made with generous portions and reasonably priced. The lamb chops were some of the best we have had in a restaurant! The staff were so friendly and we enjoyed chatting and having a laugh with them. Our server Ash was fantastic! So friendly and passionate about the food!! We cannot wait to come back! Definitely recommend.

We had dinner here last night. Never been before and thought we would try it. Absolutely fantastic. Food was spot on, we ordered a lot of dishes and every single one was great, no complaints at all. On top of that the staff were brilliant, real characters having a bit of good humoured banter. Tuesday night and the place was full and buzzing. Early bird menu until 8pm is fantastic value. Can’t recommend here highly enough 👍

Our first time here tonight, we felt really welcome from the off. We hadn't booked however this didn't seem a problem at all! We were seated quickly, even though it seemed busy. We weren't aware that they didn't serve alcohol on the premises, this wasn't an issue to us, however we were sign posted if we did want to purchase and bring in. Our waiter Ash was very knowledgable and I have never been to an Indian restaurant where the menu was explained and recommendations, including spice level were given. The food was delicious! Everything was fresh! Everyone was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble! We will definitely be returning. Thank you all for a lovely evening.

Wid is mint! Best curry in West Yorkshire. Best waiters in the area. Hands down best curry house in wakey or maybe even all of Yorkshire.

I am well impressed with this restaurant. A party of 13 went for my birthday and the service was spot on, everyone that served us were kind and considerate, but the waiter that showed us to our table and the one I spoke to on the phone to book, Ash, was absolutely brilliant, the knowledge that man has is superb! He helped me choose a king prawn and fish dish, omg it was beautiful, the flavours were like nothing else I had tasted before. Shyiba is without doubt the best! Yet again we went to this restaurant for a take away ( give it a second chance ) and yet again I asked for a mild curry knowing that there medium is hot and I specified that it has to be mild ( even though at other Indian restaurants I normally have a medium) but to take it home and it literally burnt my lips with the chilli spices isn’t good , my husband was far too hot as well , basically money down the drain !!!!! We will not go again.

Called in for a takeaway from Syhiba on George Street Wakefield I got chicken balti and a chicken korma naan bread 2 pilau rice and 5 chapatis what a big mistake both had me and misses up all night with stomach cramps and diarrhoea I will never go there again AVOID

Went sat tea time and tbh I don’t know what all the fuss about this place is why everyone raves about it - there are much better very close to this place . Service was either over the top - I don’t like people putting my food on my plate ! More than capeable of tasting things as an adult myself .
