Great for a quick bite with ok prices. The food was tasty and it's in a gorgeous area too. We had the aubergine, cod and lamb meatballs. The cod was done well. It's a little cramped with adjacent tables, a tad too close too each other. This was my first time to The Real Greek. I believe they are a chain and you can find them in several locations across London. Lots of vegetarian options and also great if you just want a light meal. They serve the tapas on a tiered stand which looks rather fancy, and reminded me of afternoon tea!

It must be getting on for twenty years since I first came to Jaffa for lunch. Then it was quite a rarity – somewhere on the “curry mile” that wasn’t a curry place. Now, those South Asian places are the rarity with only a handful remaining, their premises taken over by more recently arrived immigrant cuisines – Middle Eastern, Afghan, Turkish, etc. Along with a profusion of shisha bars. It’s still a vibrant strip of Wilmslow Road but more “kebab kilometre” than curry mile. Good shawarma and mixed mezzes are the key to Jaffa’s continued success and it seemed as popular as ever this lunchtime. We visit a couple or so times a year, combining lunch with a shopping trip to one of the large Asian supermarkets along the strip. Our order is constant. Lamb shawarma – a generous portion of tasty meat, a handful of shredded salad, a dab of very pokey chill sauce and a flatbread. And the mixed mezze – houmous, chickpeas in yoghurt, tabbouleh, chopped salad, chilli peppers, potatoes in spicy tomato sauce and a spiced yoghurt dip. We ordered another flatbread to help that along. Bargain lunch – the food, plus a couple of canned drinks came to thirteen quid.

I think it’s pretty safe to say Bodrums is my family favourite place eat out for a takeaway in Oxford the food portions are so generous and if you decide to eat in they give you unlimited hot Turkish bread. Some of my recommended dishes are the chicken grill with rice, the kofte kebab, mixed grill, lamb chops and iskendar. Top notch Turkish food! 👌

I had the meze. It was very nice and fairly priced. Nice selection of starters, fish in particular was very nice. Calamari was very tender and tasty. Unfortunately, the meat at the end was a little cold, quite dry and tough and unfortunately not very appetising. Also the selection was small (pork and chicken shish, 1 seftialia each, and a baby chicken i think).. No loukanika or pastourma, chops etc. The meat, as is seemingly more common in Cyprus now, is under seasoned. People have become incorrectly fearful of salt and it is ruining good food. As this comes at the end it was quite disappointing as you usually look forward to this the most. On reflection i would do as other locals did and order specific dishes instead of the meze. P.s the taramasalata was also delicious. 😆 The salad was poor. It was drowned in a very bitter olive oil. No acid was brought to the table. Using all of the lemon that was in the meat still did not make it palatable. This was really quite bad. Essentially inedible. The feta used was of not great quality. A shame for any non Greek people having this for a first time as it would leave a bad impression of Greek food. Our server was very friendly.

We’ve eaten here a number of times and it’s reliably excellent - very fresh food, tasty and reasonably priced. Very good for vegetarians but my meat-eating partner says the meat is good too. Cowley road has a lot of options but if you want good food and a mellow friendly vibe, try here!

We had a lovely dinner at this unassuming restaurant on a side road. It was a Friday evening and most other places were packed: Vineyard had a couple of tables so we decided to stop and try their food. I had eaten here ages ago and for some reason I had an underwhelming memory, but this time the experience was great: our starters (calamari, stuffed vine leaves and meatballs) were all lovely, but the mains were the highlight: the lamb kleftiko was soft and tasty, and the Moussaka was incredibly good (among the best I've ever tasted, including in 15 years of trips to Greece). 53£/person with 2 cocktails, a large beer, baklava and French coffee with brandy, so also not expensive. Nice buzzing atmosphere (noisy in the right way), fast service and nice owner, clearly proud of the quality he offers.

Lovely family owned business. Food was excellent, the man who served us was considerate and thoughtful. The t-bone was on par with any top end steakhouse at a fraction of the price, the pork souvlaki was tender and full of flavor and the selection of dips was a perfect way to start things off. We will definitely be coming back soon! Thank you for your great service to the local Wimbledon community, and delicious food!
