Kalamari in Hounslow

This used to be a reasonable Greek type resaurant but became expensive. Not surprisingly changed hands now a basic Turkish style kebab house nothing to commend it, plenty of nearby better choices.

One of the absolute gems of Chiswick and one of the top Greek restaurants in London. Proper home made food and such a nice atmosphere. The Kleftiko and Baklava are a must.

great dips and grilled chicken! have been with family many times across a span of around 7 years and would certainly reccommend! their high quality has remained consistent throughout my visits too! :)

A true hidden gem. My partner and I celebrated our 6th anniversary at this wonderful eatery. From the moment we arrived, we were transported to a lovely piece of Greece 🇬🇷 the atmosphere decor all were a great supporting cast to the true star of the experience, the authentic and wonderful food which we both enjoyed Full compliments to the chef and the front of house staff who made us feel so welcome

Came here for a family meal on midweek evening. Service was very good with friendly staff & was fast. The dips with bread were good but the starters & main courses all were very salty so not so enjoyable unless you like salty food. The good thing with the food is that it's fresh. I would consider going back if can ask them to cook the dishes with no or very little salt.

Nach einem geführten Rundgang in der Gegend von Chiswick fand ich, fast schon auf dem Rückweg zur Tube, dieses kleine Restaurant. Der Kellner war überaus freundlich und aufmerksam. Ich wollte nur zwei Vorspeisen; der gemischte Salat und die griechische Bratwurst waren wahnsinnig lecker. Als alleinreisende Frau wird man manchmal übersehen, das war hier aber nicht der Fall. Ich habe meinen Besuch sehr genossen und werde gerne wiederkommen.

UPDATE: back again, still one of my favourite Greek restaurants. Such friendly, lovely people and they radiate genuinely kind hospitality. Delicious food, generous serves, very reasonable prices. Plenty of options for vegetarians, vegans and keto / low-carb. They also prompt you to take it home if you can’t finish - really love the efforts to respect the food and reduce waste! *** I’ve been to Kalamari twice, and each time has been the same fun, friendly and warm experience, full of laughter and chats that carry on late into the night. The service is terrific and will make you feel right at home. We’ve tried the calamari, moussaka, stuffed squid and slow-cooked lamb - each dish tastes like a homemade hug, which is exactly how Greece feels to me. My favourite so far is the lamb, although I’d try it with potatoes next time as the rice was a bit salty for my personal taste. I can also recommend the moussaka, because who doesn’t love a dish that’s served in what it’s baked? All the dips are fantastic - it will be really tempting but do not make the rookie mistake we made and stuff yourself silly with the endless warm pita bread, and leave barely any room for dessert (although the baklava was way too sweet for me, so my friend finished it off!). Prices are reasonable and good value. Would recommend!

Was a pleasure to dine here last Wednesday night. The quality of the food cooked here is unmatched to most greek restaurants I've been to. Me and my friends had the mixed grill which we wolfed down and thoroughly enjoyed. I'll definitely be coming back next time for the fish!

We had a wonderful lunch at Kalamari for my husband's birthday for 15 people a few days ago. We've never felt more welcomed and totally spoilt by the owner and his lovely daughter. Our family are a mixture of meat eaters Vegetarians and Vegan and they catered for everyone! The food and wine was excellent and the atmosphere brilliant. It was a truly happy great day. My friend and I went to Kalamari Greek restaurant for lunch. We were greeted by the owner who was delightful. We both had the Calamari for main course. Hand on heart I can say it was by far the best Calamari we have both had. There were so many regulars there. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We had a great meal at Kalamari this evening. We had the slow roasted lamb, mixed grill and fried kalamari and it all tasted incredible. The staff were super friendly and it was such a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. It’s clear that the owner and staff really care about great food and great service. We have found ourselves a new favourite Greek!

Kalamari is a gem in Chiswick that transports you straight to Greece. The atmosphere is buzzing and the food is top-notch, all at a fair price. Highly recommended for a flavourful journey without leaving London. Don't just take my word for it; check out their other glowing reviews!

Felt like Greek family relaxed atmosphere. We had lovely slow cooked kleftico each but could easily have shared one between 2.

Kalamari is a beaut of a hidden gem. Telephoned the restaurant 2 hours ahead on a Saturday night and got a table fairly easy. The host was very welcoming and considerate, closed the windows and gave us a window table. The service was excellent. Explained the menu well. Loved the food options. Ordered Mixed Grill and Grilled Sea Bass which seemed really fresh, the whole fish was served and well prepared with minimal bones. Even the veg was really well seasoned and cooked. With the mixed grill there was equal serving of meat and veg and delicious. Overall reasonably priced. We also order Baklava with ice cream, very tasty. The staff were all polite and made us feel valued and at home. The restaurant was clean and well laid out. If there was any room for improvement, I would say the need to dry the outdoor seating if it's been raining as not pleasant to sit on wet seats. Also I would have liked a candlelight dining setting and maybe some flowers - could've created a more romantic setting. Otherwise really pleased with the food and the service!!!

Excellent restaurant! I often stop by for lunch during the week. The food is fantastic, authentic and healthy. There is a wide selection to choose from the menu, both meat and fish and many kinds of salads. Calamari and Greek salad are my favorite dish. The owner is very friendly and always happy to talk, the atmosphere is very authentic. I highly recommend this restaurant! Excellent meals and good time guaranteed!

Fresh ingredients. Tasty fare from a tight and focused menu. Moderate prices given the quality of the food and attentive service. The location is great on the high street. Must haves tzatsiki, aubergine dip and Greek salad for appetizers. The Grills for the mains - lamb chops and calamari come highly recommended. Wine list could use a few more options.

Amazing food, very friendly service.

Lovely dinner at Kalamari's tonight. The atmosphere was brilliant, the staff very welcoming and warm and the food amazing! We had the Moussaka which was moist and flavoursome and the grilled seabass which tasted delicious. This is the 4th or 5th time we have been there and would definitely go back.

I am unable to provide feedback on the food since I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet. However, I must commend the exceptional service I received during my visit, which undoubtedly deserves a five-star rating. The ambiance inside the establishment was delightful, further enhancing the overall experience. I am genuinely looking forward to returning in the future to sample the food and will make sure to update my review accordingly.

We happened to be in the area, and we booked this restaurant based on the relatively good reviews on TripAdvisor. We arrived at 8 pm and the restaurant was empty. We were the only people in the restaurant. Very courteous welcome by the waiter and were given a table and the menus. Suddenly, out of the blue, the chef/owner came out of the kitchen to our table with a bottle of wine and was going to unscrew it ! I immediately stopped him and told him twice we had not ordered any wine. He then looked aggressive, started mumbling something about us (probably swearing), and stormed away from the table. We were both flabbergasted, and never experienced anything of the sort in our lives. The two waiters at the restaurant did not look surprised at all. I asked them whether we did anything wrong for the chef/owner to act in this way, and they both told not to bother about him. It seems they had seen such an incident before. Based on this shocking incident, we decided to leave the restaurant and go elsewhere. Be warned and beware. I am sure this is a scam and we would have had to pay for the bottle of wine had we not immediately stopped the chef/owner from opening the bottle.

Another great meal at Kalamari in Chiswick. The most authentic Greek cuisine in London. We had a full tour of the menu - moussaka, chicken souvla, lamb chops, kleftiko, sea bass - and every dish was a winner. And then the boss, Eddie, capped things off with a huge plate of fresh watermelon! Always enjoy coming here and look forward to the next time. Highly recommended.

My partner and I paid a visit for an unplanned birthday meal. The restaurant was quiet and the service from Kim attentive, friendly and efficient. We shared a bottle of prosecco which was slightly expensive but very good. The food is simple authentic Greek dishes but very well presented, fresh and tasty. A surprise slice of 'birthday' cake and two liquor shots to finish was a nice touch. The traditional Greek decor makes this a lovely place to visit. Would definitely recommend and we will visit again.

Went with my wife and son. It was empty which is surprising for a Friday evening. Ordered a couple of starters, 1 main and a couple of small drinks. The bill was £52. Although we thought it was expensive for what we had we didn’t question it. Afterwards we worked out it came to about £45 so overcharged about £7. Don’t know if this was a mistake or service charge. If it was service we weren’t given a choice and it wasn’t listed on the bill. Anyway left a bitter taste and wouldn’t go back here.

Lovely place with good food, atmosphere and service. I definitely will return some more. However, I would like them to serve hummus with bread as one starter rather than pay separately as that can add up a lot. Otherwise, decent prices and a delicious Kleftiko! I also really like the decor.

Went with a couple of teenagers and a somewhat reluctant partner. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Nice food, good service and passable wine. Don't expect haute cuisine just a pleasant evening out. The place was filling up fast when we left at 10 - has to be a good sign.

I’d heard good things about this place which is why my friends organised for 40 of us to spend New Years Eve here. After months of planning and promises that we could have exclusive hire of the restaurant, my friend who’d been organising it tirelessly was told the DAY BEFORE NYE that the company owner had decided to let his mates have it instead. Beyond disappointing and not the way to run a reputable business. 40 people were left high and dry with no NYE plans and 40 plus people will be ensuring they never visit this place again. If Kalamari want to retain old and impress new customers, they’re going the wrong way about it. Don’t book here if you want a guaranteed event.

Visited the restaurant a while back, nice spot easy to find. Waitress super welcoming and food was okay Pretty annoyed about the bill though, the service charge wasn't optional and apparently it doesn't even go to the people working at the restaurant. When we asked for an explanation, we couldn't receive one. Look forward to a reply from the owners of this place to justify this greediness.

We found the restaurant quite by chance after a long day at work and found that the people working in restaurant to be first class. The food here was extremely well presented and of really good quality, I would recommend this place to everyone.

Visited yesterday for dinner. Friendly efficient service. Great food, wine and staff and good value for money, especially in Chiswick. The bill for the 2 of us came to just over £80, including service, for 3 courses each and a bottle of wine. We hope to visit again soon.

The lamb kleftiko is simply the best my husband and I drive 45 minutes to this restaurant we love it .. staff are excellent great atmosphere beautiful restaurant and great value Greece is our favourite holiday destination and the restaurant transports you straight there ! Great to support a small business too ,. One word bring back my cyprus potatoes 😂

Los entrantes eran increíbles, teníamos calamares y Griller Halloumi para compartir, las hojas de vid eran excelentes y un plato principal fantástico. El servicio fue amable y rápido, la única queja fue que el vino, los entrantes y los platos principales se sirvieron en 13 minutos, los entrantes todavía se estaban comiendo cuando llegaron los platos principales, hubiera sido bueno relajarse un poco para salir por la noche, pero eso es un menor culpa de lo que fue una gran comida.

Primera visita a Kalamari y tuve una experiencia realmente excelente. El servicio fue excelente y el personal muy amable. Había una atmósfera maravillosa en el lugar. Tenía calamares a la parrilla como mi correo, que estaba delicioso y perfectamente preparado. Tengo muchas ganas de volver.

Comenzó bien, buen servicio cortés y rápido, hasta la factura cuando nos sorprendió descubrir que agregaron 4 para 'PB', que luego descubrimos que era para Pitta Bread. Lo primero, no habíamos pedido esto, habíamos pedido un chapuzón y entendimos que el PB estaba incluido como parte de esto, no había ninguna indicación en el menú de que tendría que pedir PB por separado. En segundo lugar, habían puesto un cargo por 4 panes pitta (ya que éramos 4) cuando nunca habíamos pedido esto en primer lugar. Cuando revisamos el menú, descubrimos que había una opción de entrada (en una sección diferente a las salsas) de PB Y aceitunas para 1. No nos dieron aceitunas. Creemos que no fuimos debidamente informados de este cargo y advertimos a todos los clientes que lo verifiquen antes de realizar el pedido. Nos sentimos un poco engañados. (También tenga cuidado de que en la era de salir a comer para ayudar, el cargo por servicio del 10% no está sujeto al 50%).

We had our late Christmas dinner at Kalamari last week and I can honestly say, its one of the best Greek restaurant's I've been to in London! The food, service and atmosphere was absolutely incredible beyond words and we will definitely be back! Thank-you to both the manager and chef for having us, you guys were amazing! I danced and smashed a plate!! Best night!

Food out of the can, vegetables boiled without any herbs (to taste greek), food not available what on menu, arrogant chef, very expensive cheap food.Lamb fine, fries fresh and good taste. But that's it.Bottom line: never ever, regret to have visited this place while Chiswick has a plethora of good venues :(

I definitely recommend if you are in London and you are looking for a mediterranean restaurant. The service and food are excellent. The owner of the place is super-friendly and he makes you feel like home.

Nos dirigimos a este auténtico restaurante griego porque la comida es muy buena. Siempre tenemos el Meze y nunca decepciona. Me atrevería a decir que hacen las mejores hojas de parra rellenas que he probado en mi vida. Las hojas nunca son amargas y el relleno está perfectamente sazonado y se derrite en la boca. El houmous y el tarmasalata son geniales, pero mi favorito es el tsatsiki, realmente cremoso.

Busy and jolly. Waiters very helpful and food excellent. There were 2 birthday parties going on and several families. The children were allowed to run around but there was space and it kept everyone happy - just like being in Greece!

Four persons, with two excellent calamari portions, and two fish portions. Calamari was really fresh and the plate was big enough for all of us big hungry men. Recommended.

We would like to give a comment about the menu, but we can't, cause we arrived at 2.15pm and the waiter told us it was closed, even though the sign on the door said 2.30pm. Poor customer service, and the only waiter at the restaurant looked very annoyed to see us. The restaurant had few customers seated at one table, but they weren't bothered to serve us.

Group of 5 of us booked for dinner Saturday night. We could not have made a better choice. Staff friendly and attentive. Food to die for. Starter included halloumi both fried and grilled, Greek sausage and prawn cocktail. Olives and bread complimentary. Best hummus I’ve eaten. Mains kleftico, mousaka, calamari. All outstanding. Red wine light and delicious.

Recientemente paramos en Kalamari para el almuerzo. Aunque el restaurante estaba casi vacío, el ambiente era auténtico y nos cuidaron muy bien. El Kleftiko y el Stifado eran deliciosos, y el pan griego era auténtico y sabía exactamente igual al pan que comimos en Mykonos en vacaciones. El camarero (Eddy) fue muy atento y muy amable. Sin duda volveremos por más! ! !

Tuvimos una muy buena cena aquí con mi amigo.

La comida era muy normal. Mis chuletas de cordero estaban bien. Venían con verduras, que eran suaves y poco apetecibles sin ningún intento de hacer que tuvieran buen sabor. La ensalada griega era 80% de lechuga iceberg con pequeños trozos de queso feta, lo que fue realmente decepcionante, ya que la verdadera ensalada griega tiene muchos sabores y es increíble. Mi amigo tenía el pimiento relleno, que venía con un enorme montón de papas fritas, que no se mencionaban en el menú ni por el camarero, lo que significaba que ella ordenaba otros lados cuando no tenía que hacerlo. El servicio estaba bien, pero no demasiado amable. Una vez más, el Real Griego era mucho mejor que un lugar independiente, lo cual es una vergüenza, ya que es un restaurante de cadena y preferiría mucho tener una buena familia. Realmente espero que Kalamri tome nota de sus comentarios menos positivos e intente solucionar los problemas.
