The food was absolutely lovely and came out less than 5 minutes after we ordered it but the service of this place was a real let down. Took ages for someone to come and even take a drinks order even though two members of staff walked past and looked at our table. Then we sat with our plates in front of us for over 20 minutes and had to stand up and get attention from someone to pay our bill. They seemed too focused on the booths. Luckily the bill was under £30 and the service charged added was under £3 because we certainly didn’t receive good service.

It was a pleasing experience. The service was great, the manager welcomed us in with a smile, everyone was really helpful, kind and smiley, made us feel the warmth of the greek culture especially Vasiliki, and the food was amazing! Cheers to a great team!

Good food amazing service and atmosphere

We had the spicy feta for starters (amazing!!), and 2 moussakas which were delicious (rather a large serving, so if you are not too hungry, share a starter and 1 moussaka and you should be good). We also ordered the halloumi fries and though they were very tasty, it was too much food. All in all, 100%!☺️

Had some sharing plates with colleagues here the other night. Paid £18 for 3 staggeringly ordinary dips but had to order an extra portion of flatbread (another £4.25 for what amounted to perhaps 1 pitta) to finish the dips as there wasn't enough bread to begin with. Followed that up by regrettably discovering that for £9 you get 6 small, tasteless prawns in a watery tomato sauce with some lumps of feta on top. £7.25 will get you 3 doughy, over-cooked "spinch" pie (I think they mean "spinach"). The dolmades (£6.25 for 5 pieces) were similarly meagre and dull and unsurprisingly the service was slow and inattentive. I know that chain restaurants such as this are often a letdown but I found this to be particularly poor. I wouldn't recommend it unless everything else in the vicinity is closed and even then I'd still think twice.

The most awful food I’ve ate ever in my life!

The two of them had a meal and ordered mutton balls, mixed beef and pig sausages, a bowl of rice, and a glass of beer. The mutton balls and sausages tasted good but the portions were not large. The taste of the rice may be difficult for ordinary people to accept.

What a fantastic spot. Edward and Vassiliki were our servers and so delightful and professional. The music in the background was wonderfully greek and light. The ambiance is bright greek and comfortable. The menu is awesome. One never feels "stuffed " but also not hungry by any means. The dips and pita fantastic. We had fhe chicken souvlaki.lamb meatballs and grilled octopus. Outstanding.it was our last Nighy in london and the best possible way to have ended it. Thankyou to the whole staff amd those that do all the cooking. Can't wait to return .with love from Toronto canada

This place is absolutely fantastic. The ambience and cleanliness is what got me in the door. Then the food and drinks blew me away! The staff is so humble and kind. I cannot say enough about how truly amazing everything is from start to finish. Top notch all the way around. Do some shopping at Spitalfields Market and then recharge here. Your heart will be content!

Spitalfields market has been recommended to us to visit. I wasn't impressed. Then we saw this restaurant and just walked in. They did ask if we had a reservation and we said no. They found us a high table. The service was very quick, the food was delicious and all the staff were very nice. The only issue I had was the loudness of some of the groups. Oh my!!! I'm a loud person but they were way above normal. We still enjoyed all the food and watched all the food going by looking jealous hahahaha. We are vegetarian and it was so nice to have a big selection. I had lived in Greece many years ago and it seemed quite authentic to me. I would definitely recommend it.

They have these "set" menus that are great value. For £12 you get a main (for example, falafel, zavlouki, lamb meatballs), rice, pita bread, a choice between salad and something else (forgot what it was), a choice between greek yoghourt and hummus. The portions weren't small at all either, it takes effort to finish everything :D

Always great to meet a group in a Real Greek. Had a work colleague lunch meet up so the efficient service was appreciated. The multiple menus cause a little confusion but their 3 course £10 deal was just the ticket.

your delivery driver was extremely rude. he expected me to come out in the rain to get my food because he didn't want to deliver it to my door. I had to shout at him and say my food is always delivered to my door and he gave me an attitude and shoved my food at me and stormed off. I have never had cause to complain before he isn't an asset to your company at all

The member of staff that served us was very unprofessional. He laughed/snorted when we asked for chips with our chicken skewers and then when we didn’t order anything else his tone of voice was judgmental, implying we should be spending more money which made us feel like we were being alienated. Won’t be coming back

Nice place to eat. I love The lamb so I ate that in form of meatballs in The same picture there is pork skewer. Meatballs was really good. Tasty soft proper flavoured. Other picture is halloumi popcorn. (Worth of try!!) Anyway restaurant was Nice and stylish. Definitely going there again when London trip comes next Time.

I forgot how lovely atmosphere can be in a Greek restaurant. Nostalgia from holidays perhaps. I went there to celebrate my friend’s birthday. So happy to choose to go here, fast service, amazing food, really brings a piece of Greece in the heart of London, or hearts of Londoners should I say? 😍 Plenty to choose from between vegetarian dishes, meat dishes or seafood gourmands. Since we had so many options we did ordered something for everyone’s preference including for my sweet tooth . Cocktails are a must in our group.

Folks you need to get down to this Real Greek in Spitalfields. I live for the taramasalata here ❤️ always deliberately over order to take some home as well. Siyadh looked after us as well, what a gent.

There is nothing special about the food. I went with friends for lunch and had the meatball wrap and salad, the meatballs were overcooked and burnt with a couple of chips thrown in, the wrap was tough which is why I removed the meatballs. The salad, again nothing special, cucumber, tomatoes, red onions and 3 cubes of feta cheese and the game of find the olives.

We go the Real Greek at Spitalfields quite regularly. The Service and the food are always excellent, and the staff are great. In particular, we have recently been served by two lovely Indian members of staff, Siyadh and Neha - they are so charming and helpful! The only small negative about the venue is that when it's very busy it can get quite noisy - this is to do with the design of the premises. Apart from that, the location is great, the restaurant is very comfortable, has lovely decor and design, and is very welcoming. It's a great place to enjoy delicious Greek food.

We have Greek plate, which was (chicken skewers with Mediterranean rice and Greek salad,) The taste of chicken was delicious, the rice taste was below average, the salad was average. I don’t think I would come again

We ordered the Greek plate and it wasn’t good to be honest. The chicken skewers were good but the rice lacked flavor and it was cold. Would not recommend.

We nipped in for lunch while in the area, we were shown to a table by a lovely chap but we decided to move seats so we were out of the way on the walkway. We were then served by an older chap who was rude and abrupt. We settled on the lunch deal option which is good value, apart from the meatballs were over cooked. The said waiter hovered several times trying to clear our plates when we hadn't finished. When we did finish it says on the bill the 10% service charge is optional but when the bill arrived it was already added. The waiter didn’t ask if we were happy for it to be added or if we were even enjoyed the meal. Not sure we would go back which is shame as when I visited before in the year it was lovely & had great service. Sadly is gone downhill.

Seriously good Greek grub! Had the flatbread with hummus for starters and then the fantastic lamb meatballs on rice. Portions are huge and the service was fancy yet casual and very friendly. It was a seriously good experience, will happily return next time I'm in the area!

We came here in a hurry to get to the airport. I asked that you please bring out our food order for four people quickly. They fulfilled my request and were especially polite. We had a very delicious meal here, and experienced a professional attitude from the staff. I can only recommend the place, I hope it will continue to work for a long time.

This was our first visit to this place and Neha made us feel so relaxed and comfortable. She also made our selection of the food very easy.

I do not remember being faced down by a more obnoxious manager in a restaurant. I took my date to the Real Greek restaurant in Spitalfield Market today, confirmed with the seating staff that the restaurant accepts the One4All pre-paid debit card, then ordered and ate the meal. When it came time to pay the bill, the waitress did not seem to be familiar with the swiping mechanism on the hand held machine, so took the card to the manageress to sort out the problem. About 10 minutes later the manageress came to my table with the card to say Real Greek does not accept One4All cards. She added, falsely, that only the company names scattered on the front of the card accepted the cards. This, of course, she had just made up. So I pulled up the One4All app on my phone and showed her that, indeed, Real Greek actually does accept One4All cards! In response, the manergress the lied again, explaining that only certain Real Greek restaurants accept the card. So, I asked her why her staff had told me this restaurant did accept the card. At this point, she asked me to prove there was money on the card. The neighbouring tables were all staring following this drama closely. So I pulled up the app again and showed her £105 available. Only at this stage, did the manageress swipe the card herself- and it worked! This, of course, means that she had not bothered to actually swipe the card herself before coming to our table. And that means that she prioritised lying to a customer twice actually over checking out what the problem was - in this case, a poorly trained waitress. So then I said to her, "since you have lied to me twice, embarrassed me in front of my date and nearby customers, I do not want to pay the optional 5% service charge that had been attached to my bill". But, unbelievably, the manageress, (who when I asked her name said she was Al****dra -- possibly another lie) refused to return the tip saying I should have told her before she swiped the card! Actually, she should have refunded the entire cost of the meal, having put me on the spot publically for no reason other than she preferred to lie and lie again rather than try to swipe the card herself. If she were my employee she would get the sack. Now in cases such as these it is customary for the customer service team reading these reviews to reach out and say "this is terrible, we are so sorry to hear you were not satisfied. Please call us to further discuss..." The reason those responses seem so familiar is they are made by bots. So just to be clear, before Real Greek's bot responds, resolving this complaint will require Real Greek to give me £100 voucher and for the manergeress to give me a written letter apologising for lying to me and being so lazy she could not bother to swipe the card.
