Been a patron here since circa 1998, I couldn't imagine life without a chippy tea Friday from Med Fish Bar. The best chippy in the South East without a doubt.

I have made many visits here for a breakfast and every visit I have made I am made very welcome in my opinion I will have to say this is the best place for food and I have visited many other places for food but found this the best and it is very reasonable on price.

You could go anywhere in the world, but you’ll always come back here for Fish&Chips! The friendliest service, generous portions. Crispy fish batter, succulent cod/haddock (I’ve tried both!) Chips with perfect bite… mushy peas and a curry sauce that’s spot on. If you have any room left in your tummy… controversial but give the pineapple fritter a whirl… it’s a really yummy ending to your meal!

This place is a must, really nice clean enjoyabke breakfast with amazing service at good prices. Will certainly be a regular visitor of this place. Dan

Best fish chips in Oxford. Portion size on the cod and chips is incredible and so delicious! Fish and chips everywhere have gone up in price, but this one doesn't feel like a rip off unlike so many of the others. Friendly staff and loads of options on the menu! Go here rather than places in headington which are pricier for less and worse quality.

If you are looking for the best kebab this is your place!!! I've been in Oxford for 7 years and this place has been the only one I've been coming from the beginning until now. The service is also great, always friendly and nice to everyone. Highly recommended

Went in 5 minutes after closing, the guys were kind enough to give me 2 large portions of chips as well as their leftovers from the day for an absolute steal of a price. My friends and I ate very well that night, 10/10 would recommend

We had family come over a stay who were eger to eat fish n chips so I decided on the Mediterranean Fish Bar in Marston. The friendly welcome was complimented by the delicious fish n chips, everyone really enjoyed the taste and good quality, thank you very much, we will certainly see you again!

A classic British fish and chips shop. Generous portions, fish was fried properly, proper cheesy chips Good value for the money and very tasty. The man running the shop was friendly and polite, the order was cooked fast on front of us, pretty good if you are in the area. We had cod and haddock

How can you charge £7,60 for a small chicken Kebab if you collect but if you have it Delivered it will cost £12,80 plus £1,49 delivery and £2,49 Service Charge and the Delivery was to Summertown

Friendly staff and amazing food!

We used to love this place but the portions sizes have become beyond a joke. I think if they don’t recognise you (we’ve lived away for quite a few years now) then they give you the tiniest portions. A small doner kebab had approx four strips of meat in it. A large chips used to feed four of us and now it barely feeds one. I understand that times are hard but I was honestly quite speechless the last few times I have been there. Extremely disappointing!

Do not go any where near the cest pit man the man was a arrogant pig so rude doesn’t even talk just nods can’t sit down and eat because you might use a bit to much mayo and he has to wash up your plates alright it’s a supposedly a restaurant , ordered a battered sausage it’s no bigger than my hand , chips undercooked just pure rotten.

Always a great meal. We normally have fish and chips once a week. What's nice is we can sit in and get table service. All the staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The portion sizes are fairly good, and we always come away happy.

Outstanding fish and chips! The Cod was perfectly cooked – sweet, moist, chunky – in a tasty, crisp batter, and the (small) portion size for both it and the chips, was huge! Good to find a halal, local chippy, with clean loos and dine-in options.

Chicken was slightly undercooked being that the fact that it’s chicken. To me that is risky business. Additionally Service wasn’t the best. Pleases be aware when ordering anything chicken related. Make sure to check before consuming for your Safety.

Always polite and good food. Having been a customer for years, we always find the food is to a high standard and the management and staff always friendly, polite and happy to smile and make you feel welcome. Many a time we have used ‘The Med’ when we have building work going on and always get a takeaway when we can and for the kids tea. Just the best local Fish and Chips around. 100% and we highly recommend.

Decent portion sizes, great burgers. Absolutely awful chips (soggy/stuck together) avoid the pre-cooked cabinet food. Generally friendly staff, average Oxford prices. Sub par for Oxford.

Absolute rip off... Eat in charges are different which they don't even mention until it's time to pay the bill... Rude and annoying service.

The BEST half pounder I've ever tasted. Bacon, cheese and a single slice of tomato. I've has this 8 times in the last 2 weeks. My colleagues have tried the chips etc and everyone loves it. Long may it continue

Excellent quality, their fried cod with salads and potatoes was a tasty and giant challenge.

Used to have great ratings. Not sure if they have changed ownership. Staff friendly enough, fish was good, chip woeful, anaemic just about cooked, served too quickly! to be properly cooked but at £15.50 to eat in (almost double that of take away, surely a mistake, think they made this up as no eat in prices are on displayed) for small fish and chips are a rip off even allowing for inflation. Not value for money very disappointing. Can't see them surviving if this continues. Didn't want to hear of about family matters either, suggest they become aware that customers can hear every word from behind the screens and they lower their voices. Won't go again.

One of the best pieces of cod I have had in ages and a huge portion of chips. Good value for money.

£10.30….Large Fish and Chips , looked more like a (small). Chips were raw and uncooked amongst the hard dried chips. Very disappointed that Posh Fish was closed at the time I had to visit this place. In future it’s better to wait then be given scraps and uncooked food.

I went here the other week and I wasn't best pleased with the service. I had a burger and chips meal, I think it was advertised around £5. I went to sit down and eat in their seating area and they charged an extra £4. I felt this was a bit unfair and they never mentioned there was a charge for sitting down and they said to pay after the meal. I wouldn't have minded paying a bit extra this is almost twice the price, or if they mentioned that when you sit down you have to pay £4 extra I then could have made the decision to take out.

Absolutely brilliant, I have used this chip shop for many years without a single complaint, great selection available and my only problem is choosing what to have as it is all so good, really nice service, great price and excellent food. I would recommend to anyone 👍

Best fish and chips in Oxford- the cod is phenomenal

Although their prices have gone up recently (whose haven't) this place still offers good quality cod and chips at reasonable prices. Large portions of chips so make sure you're hungry.

Been here many times before but on this occsssion wasn't impressed. Ordered Haddock and had to wait longer than usual, but it felt overcooked and not tasty. Not much salt & vinegar on the chips either.

Absolutely rotten food I got fish and chips and my mother got a chicken breast and they heated it up In the microwave. My fish and chips went in the bin as it was the most vile fish and chips I have ever had. Never would i go here again nor would I recommend this place to anyone.

We had burger and a mixed kebab with a humongous portion of chips( enough for 3 in a standard portion!). It's spot on!. Cordon bleu it ain't ( why would you expect that?) But it's great for the type of d food it serves. Big plus is it's choice of food. Meets most of the fast food hunger pangs and a reasonable price.

Poor quality food and arrogant owner. Hygiene very low,the guy is cooking and handling money in the same time without washing he's hands. There asking for a beef burger 2 pounds and if you ask for cheese burger is 3.40 the only difference being half a slice of cheese. I wouldn't recommend. Response: I see you've blocked me or something because I can't continue the conversation and I will answer you here. Sorry you feel offensive the word ,,arrogant'' but how would you call a guy that is raising voice and being sarcastic just because I've explained to you something is not right like a slice of cheese at almost the price of the whole burger. About the hygiene: first of all I'm telling you as a professional in this field. I've watched you for about 15 minutes. You handle money and food without washing your hands. There was a big container with chips outside ready for frying but there weren't kept in water,by the time you will get to the bottom of the container most of them will oxidize. That window where you keep hot chicken is not looking like one that holds the temperature above 63 degrees and last one you've touched the raw beef patty and the burger bun without washing your hands. I can't imagine how is inside the kitchen if outside is like this.

Cherwell Drive Mediterranean Fish and Chip shop is the best in Oxford. Very Friendly staff and great Fish and Chips. I love their Fish Cake and Chips as well. I usually go here after playing Football or after Rock Choir when we have practice.

Often go to this place when in Headington / Marston area. Does a basic range of Fish & Chips and has good hygiene ratings (5/5). Not sure what it does vegan wise but has lots of sauces and seems to cover most angles. Breaded cod would be nice, but battered cod and scampi do the trick.
