The food is very overpriced for the portion size, simplicity of the dishes and the quality. I have been on two occasions since they opened last year, and the front of house service has been incredibly poor each time. Over 20 min after been seated before anyone acknowledged us or offered us a drink. Both times staff were were just casually laying up tables, chatting amongst themselves and demonstrated little attention or care to the customers. On my second visit with my son, when we came to order, I asked if they could do smaller portions for children, only then did they say we do indeed have a children's menu, seems it just wasn't offered to us. We asked if it was okay with the kitchen could our toddler be served first and we'll have our starters and mains after, that i'd be able to feed him then enjoy my foot still hot. They assured us that it won't be any trouble at all, but then served his food with our starters and before any of us had finished proceeded to serve the main with such urgency it was simply placed on the table and they walked off before we could say much about it. Then meaning we had plates engulfing the table and was wrestling a toddler to stop him putting his hands into this buffet in front of us all. the food wasn't particularly hot anyway so safe to say by the time I ate my salmon it was stone cold, and definitely not worth £20. Very salty. It's a great shame as this venue has the potential to be amazing, the the quality of service and time management from the staff is a huge let down not to mention the delusions of grandeur on the food and its prices. They also have the cheek to add service charge as standard, which many people were requesting to be removed! Receipt image is for 2 adults and 15 month yod.

Last Saturday night I held a retirement celebration at Gallinis for 46 family and friends - it was faultless from start to finish. I originally looked at 3 venues in Swansea Marina and Baz at Gallinis was by far the most helpful, the most accommodating, and in the end produced an amazing night for us. They stayed in touch with me in the weeks/month ahead of the event in order to agree the menu, agree the table settings and talk about entertainment etc - nothing was too much trouble for them. On the day of my event May 11th, they let us go to the restaurant in the afternoon around 3.00 pm in order to decorate as we had the entire ground floor booked out. My family and friends arrived at 7.00 pm and Kurt and his team were ready and waiting with the Prosecco we had ordered for arrival drinks. The waitresses worked really hard making sure all of my family and friends were topped up regularly and were kept happy. We then sat down for food. How on earth the kitchen managed to produce 46 two course meals, on time, piping hot, and to such an excellent standard is really beyond me. Everyone was impressed with the standard of food and service which was consistently high throughout the evening. The staff were always on hand for anything we needed, and the service at the bar was quick and efficient. The whole experience was faultless and exceeded my, very high, expectations. Add to this a stunning setting on Swansea Marina.......perfect. Thank You to to Baz, Kurt and all of the staff at Gallinis who worked so so hard for us - and especially the hardworking waitress who joined in our singing :-) If you are thinking of having an event here just do it, if you just want somewhere special for lunch or dinner - go here. Its fab.

Cost of lunch £35 Paper Napkin wrapping the cutlery had a ‘chocolatey’ looking fingerprint on it . Yuck! Luke warm baked potato . No butter. Too little cheese but potato was too cold to melt it anyway . Two slices of bacon put on top of the potatoes. Not freshly cooked as it was almost un-cuttable. Texture of leather. 5 x pieces diced cucumber 1/2 cherry tomato 1/2 lettuce leaf Not sure if there was dressing 1x tbsp of shop bought coleslaw Side order of undercooked frozen chips Side order onion rings - edible This is not a complicated ‘meal’ to create. DO BETTER or at least offer a refund

Despite being unable to book in advance, the Sticky Fingers website states plenty of walk in tables are available. We did get a table but were unable to order the food we wanted as it was pre-order with a table booking only! No where on the Sticky Fingers website did it actually state this. The manager was very rude and he tried to pass the buck to the vendor which was a bit sad really! Poorly organised with staff who had no clue.

I would give this a 3.5 if I could as it was better than average (3/5) but not very good (4/5). Our starters (the asparagus and the lamb croquette) were ok. Both had eggs that tasted quite bland, and the asparagus portion size was very small. At a price of £8 and £10 respectively, we expected more. Our mains were much better, both the plaice and pea/mint risotto. Good portion sizes and good taste, couldn't fault these dishes. With the dessert, back to that feeling of disappointment we had when the starters arrived. The £8 lime glazed tart was ridiculously small, and the roasted banana ice-cream that came with it frankly tasted like a regular vanilla ice-cream. Overall, the entire meal was ok, but too expensive given the sizes of the starters and desserts.

We arrived for breakfast with our 6 month old baby, where the waiter approached us and said that people were leaving shortly and we could be seated in the next few minutes. We then stood by the bar waiting for a seat, (there were no spaces left even by the bar to sit and wait) when a couple having coffee stood to leave who kindly gave their seats to us. We started getting the highchair ready for the baby and made ourselves comfortable, to which we were approached by a member of staff with blonde hair appearing mid-thirties in age who told us to leave as a couple sat on a breakfast table by the bar (big enough for dining) had been waiting for this seat. It was extremely unnecessary to wait for us to make ourselves comfortable before telling us this, and also not to be shown to alternative bar seating seeing as we were already stood waiting with a baby for 15 minutes. We left feeling extremely unwelcome, and also bumped into the couple who gave their seats for us who were confused why we had to leave the seat. In hindsight it worked out for the best as the inn was very hot, no air con even in the middle of August, also as seen by the food hygiene rating on the door there is definitely room for improvement. We were left with the impression that “if you’re not a regular you won’t receive the same service” again very unwelcoming.
