La Cafe Francais in Cardiff

We went to LA Cafe for the first time yesterday. It was packed and the atmosphere was really happy and warm. It was great to see a small business so full of customers. We ordered our food to take away but the service was incredible whilst we were waiting. They checked on us several times to see if we were happy waiting for our food. We ordered a bap and a hot sandwich which were both incredible and great value for money. You can tell they really care about the food they serve and the produce they use. Not your typical cafe. We will be returning soon to hopefully sit in and have their breakfast!!

I have been travelling to Sutton multiple times but this was the first time we ate there, and biggest regret was not coming here before. Amazing food, excellent service, the owner was very friendly and told us all about he source his ingredients and in-house baking. I will definitely be a repeat customer and would recommend everyone to try

What a treat! The paneer burger at La Cafe in Sutton is next-level delicious. Soft paneer, crunchy roasted peppers, and this incredible spiced onion-tomato mix that’s mildly spicy, sweet, tangy, and totally addictive. All wrapped in a cool charcoal bun and served with crispy spiced fries and a fresh, colourful salad. Total flavour party — highly recommend!

Great food and customer service

Came in by chance. The man who sat us down/ took our order was brilliant. General vibe and energy was amazing. What a great start to our day.

Been several times now, and we just can’t fault this establishment. Service and friendliness is 10/10. Food is so fresh, croissants baked on premises. Can highly recommend the bacon lettuce tomato cheese croissant!!

The spicy chicken sandwich is on point - owner Ankur goes a long way to make you feel special and he also offers flexibility to cater for different preferences! Definitely coming back again

A bit disappointed actually. I bought a ham and cheese croissant. One thing I have to feedback is just visit an upmarket cafe such as Gail’s and try their ham and cheese croissant. Not only is their croissant much much cheaper, it’s tastier and doesn’t have so much fat on the ham. Your croissant also tasted sweet and was not heated through properly. Im a little shocked by the £7 price tag for it. I can only provide feedback from a customers perspective. However, your service was really good from the staff.

Had an excellent curry (I got curried away with it). The rice was amazing as was the chicken. The curry was spiced just right. Can’t wait until it is on the menu again.

We have been to LA Cafe a couple of times now for breakfast and brunch, and I must say that it's an absolute gem. We have had the spicy chicken sandwich, blueberry pancakes, full English breakfast, etc. and we could clearly see that the food is made by very talented chefs. The quality is absolutely amazing, and you would probably want to try most of the items on the menu. And to top it all, you would receive a very friendly service by the amazing people who run this place.

A fantastic little coffee and restaurant that serves amazing food. The owner was very engaging and friendly and the food was delicious. A far better option than the regular high street chains. Well worth a visit.

It's is difficult to find words to describe this wonderful cafe. The food is exceptional. The signature breakfast has the best scrambled eggs and white truffle sauce I have ever tasted! Service is excellent and one is made to feel welcome and appreciated. Sutton you are so fortunate. Today's breakfast is creamy soft scrambled eggs with sliced avocado on toast with hot sweet vine tomatoes and by special request the best smoked salmon you'll find anywhere! Breakfast heaven! Month after month the high standards of food, service and cleanliness are maintained.

This place is amazing 🤩 We ordered espresso, carrot cake, their special chicken curry & rice platter, tomato mozerella sandwich, apple pie. Everything was too good.

It was my first time visiting here today, and I'm unsure why I left it so long. The food was freshly cooked and all made from scratch, and the taste was out of this world. The owner is a lovely and funny man. I highly recommend this place.

Delicious breakfast- great stack of pancakes 🥞 and English breakfast. Kids loved the fruit frappes. Only thing I would change is the harsh operating room style lighting!

Hands down, the best café in Sutton! Every visit here is a delightful experience, thanks to the owner’s passion for creating something truly special. The menu is full of unique and exciting flavors—our latest visit featured chaat fries bursting with bold spices, a perfectly grilled vegetable sandwich, and their new Black Forest Mocha, which was an absolute treat with its rich and distinctive taste. To top it all off, we indulged in a pistachio cruffin, and it was simply divine. Always ask for the day’s special and you will never be disappointed. LA Cafe is one those hidden gems that takes you by surprise, an unassuming spot that impresses with every sip of coffee and bit of food, so meticulously prepared. I enjoy the coffee very much! But what really stands out though is the staff, just so friendly and attentive making every visit personal and special. It's that kind of place where you can have a good meal, a cheerful chat, and something to visit every time I am in Sutton!

A really, really nice cafe. Excellent breakfast, best cappuccino in the whole area, very clean, very friendly service. The chai latte is highly recommended. All in all, wonderful food.

Such a great cafe right across the road from Sutton Train Station. Clean, bright, good coffee (served in Le Creuset mugs) & super friendly service & excellent food. Strongly recommend the portobello mushroom & cheese croissant with signature truffle sauce - delicious. LA cafe is a great find.

Attentive and friendly staff. Food arrived quickly. Nothing was left on the plates. Food tasted great and the portion sizes were generous. They were great with the kids, bring extra plates for them to share and a coffee when they finished their meal.

One word: delicious! The scrambled eggs are exceptional with a unique taste (perfect combination of technique, and little extras of which the chef has the secret). Very attentive staff, children and parents loved it. A quick photo of the signature breakfast below and the coffee is roasted on site. Go for it ! As French we wanted to try the English breakfast, we are leaving with a high reference!

We had to visit this eatery due to the high recommendations it has received and it certainly did not disappoint. The ingrediants were top quality, the food was so tasty and cooked to perfection. The chef takes real pride in serving you a delicious meal and hearing the feedback. Look around the place and the walls are adorned with recommendations and awards. Truly wonderful.

LA Café is a place with a great, friendly atmosphere where you can get fantastic baps, with really nice coffee or chai latte. And it's right in front of the train station! When in Sutton, don't miss it, it's worth every penny.

I had the avocado toast dish and it was delicious. It included scrambled eggs, which were soft and fluffy, and the tomato tapenade on the avocado was deliciously rich in flavor. The only thing that could be improved is the side salad, which was iceberg lettuce and some cherry tomatoes; it would have preferred if it was made with more mixed leaf salad with rocket leaves, for example. The atmosphere is nice and receives plenty of natural light. Just note that the place is somewhat small, so it felt good for a brunch/breakfast, but not a place to work for longer periods of time.

Great food, super friendly service. Ordered their daily special (chicken tikka burger on that particular day), spicy chicken sandwich, pecan brownie, Black Forest hot chocolate and Tropical frappe. Everything was delicious and we’re looking forward to visiting again to try their other stuff.

We visited LA Cafe for the first time today after spotting positive reviews online. We’ve lived in Sutton for a few years now and can’t believe we’ve never been. Despite the bright exterior, I think it’s very under the radar and offers a lot more than a typical ‘cafe’. The food is excellent, everything is made in house… even the bread, I’m told! Really delicious. Highly recommend a visit to anyone passing through Sutton!

I went here for lunch with my daughter recently. Really good experience. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. Lovely atmosphere. I had a grilled vegetable salad, which was very tasty - way better than the food you get in most cafes. Tasted freshly prepared. And my daughter had some very decadent waffles which she loved. I'd highly recommend this place and hope to go back soon.
