Absolutely lovely time here last night. Very attentive very professional and friendly. Food was really good and reasonable priced too. Charlie our waitress was fantastic as were all the staff that were working. Definitely highly recommend and will be back.

2nd visit here this year. We gave it a second chance as we had such an indifferent experience the first time. 2nd time around, no change, whilst the staff were present their engagement was minimal and when asked about products they were clueless. It would also appear that lighting candles on “mobile” tables was a genuine health and safety risk, as if we were going dive upon. Underwhelming.

Prebooked a table for food and drinks and ended up seated on the high tables with stools. Asked if we could have a booth (there were 2 booths free the whole time we were there) and was told point blank no. Food was lovely (I chose rissoto) and was asked what type of potato I wanted, i.e., chips or jacket potato. I thought that was a strange think to ask. Won't rush back as the service wasn't the best.

My partner and I ate hear last night, we eat out regular and try all different cuisines. We both agreed that our meal at Morgans Bistro was one of the nicest I have ever had. We shared a Scallop Entree which was lovely and each had the Chateaubriand for main. This was outstanding, everything was so tasty and cooked to perfection. For dessert we had cheesecake and creme brulee and these were delicious also. I also want to give a shout out to Charli our waitress. She was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable with the menu. We booked to go back on our way out.

Place for drinks only. I have visited this establishment several times. I usually only ordered drinks. But once I made a mistake by deciding to have dinner with friends in this place. One of the glasses on our table was very dirty, we asked to replace it. The food was terrible, and the steak was completely undercooked. Instead of medium rare, they brought a piece of almost raw meat. When we pointed this out, we were offered to take the steak, take it to the kitchen, and finish cooking it. There was no talk of replacing the dish. The rice in my friend's dish was undercooked. So the decoration of the hall is beautiful, the drinks are good, but I do not recommend dining there.

Cannot recommend Morgan's Bistro highly enough! One of the very best Sunday lunches we have experienced. Food beautifully prepared & presented. Excellent young staff, smart, professional and friendly. Chef is a 'Top Man'. Will definitely re-visit ASAP.

Usually take the poor reviews in here with a pinch of salt however, the poor experience encou termed by a lot of people on here is sadly our experience too. Firstly food and drinks are extortionately expensive for the quality and portion size provided. Steak very tough and when we complained we were told it was the cut. Management and Owner condescending and dismissive, obviously the phrase “the customer is always right” hasn't reached this business. The way management treated junior staff was also unacceptable in our opinion. They all appear to work extremely hard but do not get spoken to in a professional manner which we found uncomfortable. Don't believe the hype about this place - its not worth it.

Lovely little business with friendly helpful staff and the food was amazing, would highly recommend. We will defiantly be going again. Amazing atmosphere.

Check your credit card account. My wife had a very nice meal here but when we got our credit card bill we had a payment taken out for Dean Morgans Hair Salon. Apparently the card reader used in the Bistro was from the Hair Salon. This caused us considerable confusion. We cancelled our credit cards as we thought there had been a fraudulent transaction as we have never used the Morgans Hair Salon.

Disgusting !!!! Spent 85 pounds for 2 starters 2 drinks and 2 of what we thought was a beautiful roast dinner !!! Well where do I start! I did try leave a review but they blocked me and my review which is disgusting in itself.......starters came we had the creamy garlic mushrooms and what should of been a toasted baguette but the baguette wasn't toasted it was dry and full of dough! Mushrooms were nice tho all 6 of them! Roast,.so we had the double meat roast of chicken and beef with broccoli bake an extra £4 and extra stuffing ! Stuffing came with our dinners and found powder throughout it so wasn't cooked properly, Yorkshire puddings were not homemade as previously stated, meats were processed, frozen chicken ɓreast cut up and frozen beef, vile !!!! Now onto the rest, cabbage tasted of fish, had new potatoes that were sprouting I have the pictures, broccoli bake full of water now here's the best bit lol they claim to have the best gravy In bridgend lol laughable, I have all the pictures it's nothing more than bisto with meat juices added but mine was like water again vile, the roast potatoes were not roast potatoes they had been heated up and no crunch at all I do enough roasts to know that they were heated!!!!! Best part of my meal was the wine!!!! Didn't eat the food still paid full price, looking back I should not of, never go here for food

Having pre -booked a birthday meal for 5 yesterday (Saturday 1/6). We ordered from the set lunch menu.The waitress informed us that there was a number of potato dishes available. To then be told the dauphinoise potato’s were not part of the deal even when we offered to pay extra. Simple advice for the chef when you bad mouth customers suggest they are not within hearing distance when you do.! My wife ordered “ crispy belly pork bites” clue in name crispy. It arrived, to say under cooked is an understatement. Shame really when you pay £189 for food you expect better. Thank you for your reply. Firstly we did offer to pay for extra potatoes as suggested. To which we were told it wouldn’t happen. Secondly. I heard what your chef said ! To be honest I suggest he needs to attend charm school. It simple really with so many good restaurants in Bridgend we won’t be frequenting yours again. Regards.

My friend and I had a lovely meal here tonight , had the pate and garlic mushrooms to start which were very nice. We both had the duck , which was nicely cooked and very tasteful The staff were efficient and very friendly and we really enjoyed the cocktails also . Unfortunately there were a few things on the menu that they didn’t have due to supply problems however we were very happy with our choice. Would come back again . Thank you

Really enjoyable evening. Food was premium and loved the nod to the local suppliers in the menu. Staff were attentive and helpful when we had trouble picking from the extensive menu. The steak was very tasty and had a good portion of sides included in the cost. We will be back!

My daughter chose the venue as she thought that it was pretty from the outside for her 10th birthday, she was not wrong!, such a lovely clean and well decorated establishment with really friendly and helpful staff, the food was brilliant. Visited this place with wife on Saturday 20th the place was absolutely freezing which the girl did apologise for.the wife had pate which was fine I had onion soup ok main course beef bourguignon which was tasteless with very chewy beef .the wife had duck which was overcooked.not a pleasant experience

The food was fantastic. I personally didn't have a starter (saved room for dessert ;) ) but they were really good and great portion sizes. Mains were all great - steaks were cooked to perfection, really tender - sides were good sizes and excellent. We ordered a number of different cocktails - didn't have anything less than a great cocktail each time. As the designated driver, I didn't partake but was in the company of some cocktail connoisseurs who were very happy. All in all, great service from Jack & Victoria, brilliant food and drink. Looking forward to going back (worth the trip from Berkshire)

Always made to feel welcome and the cleanliness of all the staff how they are meticulous with cleaning of tables and booths , sometimes doing this more than once. This is an honest review - please take it as such. I was one of the party of 7 in the previous review that had a very disappointing experience with you. But I would like to address your rude response to the previous review from one of our party as it says a lot about your attitude and your restaurant - and therein lays the very obvious problem as you need to accept with grace any negative comments to learn from them and improve rather than be defensive. So, in reply to your response; All food choices to the party organiser were provided by 16th November which was not three weeks ago as you state. You did offer a goodwill gesture of £30 off a meal for 7 (one of the party didn’t have a main course as it had to be returned twice - once because it was served cold and once because it was covered in oil/ grease - I appreciate that it was sea bass pan fried in tarragon butter, but the first time the meat of the fish was white and the second time it was brown and greasy - this party member went without a main course. The party organiser did pay for the meal for all of the party, but this was without any of our knowledge. But the party organiser was also unhappy with a number of things regarding the meal; she commented that the table was “awful and not dressed like the tables at the front of the restaurant” that she would “never serve vegetables the way they had been served, being dry, burnt and having ends on them” stating that they “looked like old men’s private parts”. You refer to the comment of the cramped table area as suggesting our party was “elderly” - our average party age 47 yrs !!! - I certainly don’t appreciate the “ageist” comment and have never been referred to as elderly by anyone. The reason we didn’t raise any further issues until the end of the booking is that we all genuinely wanted to enjoy ourselves and not make a fuss, but also that during the meal no-one checked if we were happy, I did ask for cranberry sauce as it wasn’t offered and you didn’t check with us then if we were happy either. The very young staff were lovely, but seemed inexperienced and we didn’t want to make things difficult for them. I am not from Bridgend, so was unaware of this restaurant and was very much looking forward to attending and having a well deserved festive dinner out. But your response to the honest review of one of our party has left a very bad taste. So, my honest review is that my prawn cocktail was ok, very average (but that’s an observation not a criticism) my turkey dinner was presented well, looked and tasted lovely but was just below warm in temperature and not hot. (I didn’t raise an issue didn’t want to make a fuss). I would have preferred my Christmas pudding and brandy sauce to have been served in a bowl of some description rather than on a slate- again,not a complaint, just a personal observation. When we did raise our concerns to you, quietly, calmly and succinctly, you just appeared somewhat defensive. So, all in all, it wasn’t a great experience. It appears that there is a lack of experience and the restaurant is more style over substance which doesn’t welcome honest reviews.

Went to Morgans in a party of 7 for a pre booked Christmas menu….well, where to start:- Arrived and seated in a very tight cramped seating area! The decor was nice though. Prawn cocktail was ok! In between the meals we waited an eternity for the drinks and it seems the serving staff have either only been trained to carry one drink at a time or the restaurant doesn’t own trays!!! Here we go…now the big issues!!! All of the meals arrived tepid. My vegan meal which consisted of a roasted vegetable tart came with gravy in it as you would expect, however i have never ever had Mediterranean roasted tomatoes and courgettes with gravy !?!? Needless to say i didnt eat it but didnt like to complain. One of the party had pre ordered steak but wasnt asked how she wanted it cooked! It arrived medium rare and fatty! Others in my party had burnt whole unpeeled parsnips on their plates. The worst thing was that two people in the party ordered fish that arrived raw. These were sent back and when they arrived back on the table were sat in burnt butter or fat of some description. One was returned again leaving one of the party with no main meal at all! We complained and were offered a tiny discount on the meal which was an insult! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Would have had a better night staying at home and ordering a takeaway!!!!!

The most gorgeous place. The attention to detail is absolutely incredible. The food is outstanding. I took my team there last night as a Christmas thanks and we had a lovely Christmas dinner . Delicious soup and crusty roll. Turkey dinner . The turkey just melted in your mouth . Pigs in blankets to die for and the selection of desserts were perfect . Not to mention the cocktails 🍸…. Highly recommend a visit .

Snails were lovely, Frogs legs larger of the two bit rubbery, so not cooked evenly, the rib of lamb looked impressive but unfortunately it was of fat and tough. I Wouldnt go back again. Although I must say, they did refund me for my main meal. Service the waitress was lovely.

Super Sunday lunch! We had the triple meat beef pork and turkey and they all melt in the mouth. Creamy mashed potato,swede,carrots, awesome cabbage. Came with gravy on plate plus a boat of gravy. Hot and delicious we loved it.

Another lovely meal at Morgan’s Bistro. We booked the festive baguette which was a delicious Turkey baguette with stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and pigs in blankets and a side of home cooked chips. Served on a sleigh! Festive cocktails were delicious as well!! I had the home made cheesecake for dessert which was biscoff and it was amazing! My husband had the creme brûlée’ and said it was equally tasty! Would not hesitate to recommend, every time we’ve been here the food and service are exceptional!

Exceptional meal yet again, me and a friend make it our Christmas outing now because we can not fault it, from the service to the food and drinks. We had the set Xmas menu tonight and everything from the soup and goats cheese starters through to the cheesecake dessert was beautiful. The curried parsnip and carrot soup had the right amount of seasoning and wasn’t too overpowering, and the ribeye steak was to die for. The cocktails are by far the best I have ever had, and I’ve had a few cocktails!. Exceptional value for money and look forward to my meal booked in 2 weeks. Keep up the good work guys and having worked in the industry my motto is “you can’t please everyone” there is only one photo I took as I was enjoying myself too much.

NICE TRY MATE. Went there for suppose to be a Christmas Night meal but what a pile of s***. The chef was cooking in a black hoody not a chefs coat in sight. The lady on front of house was lovely servers was to young but one boy stuck out the most and was fab. The boy behind the bar worked so hard and was fantastic. There was no Christmas crackers on the tables which over the years when we have gone to other places we have always had them. Food was not up to standard with a prawn Cocktail with only 5 prawns in it and enough leaf to sink the ship. Turkey was watery where it had been steamed, then it must have been covered with bacon and recook in the oven for it to crisp up. I would never go back here again when you can have a much nicer meal it other places.

I have been to Morgan’s a few times mainly for their Sunday dinner which is outstanding. However once we saw they were offering a festive drag brunch, we couldn’t say no! From the very moment we entered the venue, we had such a warm welcome, the decoration was outstanding and so Christmassy! As We sat down they explained clearly how the brunch will work, with the bottomless Prosecco and cocktails. The picky Christmas lunch was so nice, a sharing board with meats, cheeses, prawns and salad with a warm crust bread roll. Our server Ollie was extremely attentive with filling out Prosecco glasses, and the cocktails that were brought out were incredible. The staff even provided my mother with lemonade instead of Prosecco as she doesn’t drink!! Khloe the drag artist was phenomenal, got everyone in the Christmas spirit and made sure they really enjoyed! What can i say.. went here for a Christmas party with a group of 10 people at £30 + Drinks a head and booked as a Christmas party i can say it was a complete let-down. The Venue Looked Amazing .. The Food not so good. Prawn Cocktail Starter with 5 prawns .. and stuffed Turkey seems full of water and the wrapped bacon soft. our table was set, The Carrot & Parsnip Soup Tasted of curry Powder. On a Good Note Your Barman and Young lady at front of house were amazing .. but one of the other male staff was VERY rude after being asked to take desert plates away so we could make room for drinks we were quicky told he was busy (even tho there were only 2 other tables left in the venue) i honestly say that the meal & experience was just not worth the £30 + paid.

If "meh" was a meal, this would be it. Went here for date night. Sort of wished we hadn't. I started with the frogs legs, which were breaded and deep fried the texture was greate but I think they were too nervous to add any seasoning or flavour as it was just lacking any flavour. My partner went for the snail which were actually kind of good. Maybe a bit too much garlic but that's a personal taste. For mains I went for the mussels in garlic and cream sauce. First of all. Did no one check to see if the mussels were alive? I counted 17 mussels that weren't opened very disappointed. Would have liked to have a few more edible mussels. The sauce was lacking any punch, there was a half cut punch of garlic resting at the bottom of the pot which wasn't bleeding so non of the garlic flavour hit the sauce and, again, no seasoning so I just had a pot of half dead mussels and cream. My partner ordered the lobster thermador, which arrived stone cold, having to ask for a warm one (great start) when it eventually came back it was then piping hot, great, why did we need to ask for our food to be cooked? The texture on it was weird and slimey which kind of put her off. The dessert we both had the creme brulee. The sugar was just dumped onto of cream with a hint of vanilla. It did not even SEE the torch. It tasted like a day old egg custard tart with brown sugar on top. The waiting staff were present and attentive so big props to them. Combined the meal came to about £90. Was not impressed and won't be coming back until they pick up their game. Edit as I cannot respond: it absolutely was relayed thus we got the lobster returned to the table warm. Nothing was done about the mussels though. Love having 1/8 a pot of mussels still with beards on

I just want to emphasise that I couldn't fault the service - the staff were friendly, attentive and the service was quick. The venue is beautiful. Unfortunately, the big disappointment was the food. We ordered the saucy chicken and beef bourguignon. Both dishes were very bland! The chicken was chewy and the bourguignon was served luke warm. We expected more from a restaurant that has won food awards. After the food was taken away, the restaurant manager came to our table to ask if everything was okay with the bourguignon as I barely ate it.. I told her my complaints. She said she appreciated the feedback, and I assumed that maybe something would have been done to rectify the situation (e.g. discount) but nothing was done. We won't be returning, unfortunately, as the quality of food is not up to scratch.

For a place that specialises in French delicacies, there was nothing delicate about the taste of the food I had. And being French, I have a somewhat deeper appreciation of the food they claim to be serving. Yes, the place is aesthetically pleasing, the staff are accommodating (as much as a greeter interacts with a customer coming in and taking your order), but the food is just disappointing. Even the £32 Chateaubriand steak is a downright disappointment, with it being overcooked. When I saw frogs' legs and escargots on the menu, I was overjoyed. But when the waitress announced that their signature delicacies were unavailable, that was the start of the downfall. I therefore opted for the French onion soup... Je suis désolé (I'm sorry), but that is nothing short of sliced onions marinated in hot water and browned. The cheese used definitely wasn't Gruyère, which is one of the key ingredients to make a true French onion soup. We don't use cheap English knockoff cheese, merci beaucoup. The menu then listed "Moulles mariniére" for the main. The typo should have indicated how bad of a mistake I was making, especially when the dish they serve the mussels in has "moules" written on it (correctly spelled, as it should be 'moules marinière'). The sauce was nice and tasty, yes, but the mussels themselves barely tasted of anything, and felt gritty and all were opened (I'd expect 5-10% to remain closed when cooked properly from fresh). Both the starter and the main were served with garlic bread... garlic and baguettes are both French culinary staple foods, but garlic bread is something you whack in the oven/microwave  not served with French delicacies. Overall, I can't give this anything higher than 2.5, as the food should have been at the forefront of the evening, especially with such a large focus on French specialties. Overpriced let-down, and an insult to all French cooks. Go on YouTube/BBC GoodFood and you can make a truer French onion soup for a fraction of the cost, and triple the flavour. Setting and service were nice, just not the food.

Absolutely amazing place, lovely decor, relaxed atmosphere. All the staff and friendly and welcoming and the food and cocktails Are outstanding.. very much our go to place for a lovely treat or catch up with friends for a night out.

Very disappointing. Why ask how a customer wants their steak of you aren't going to cook it that way. Microwave mash potatoes are awful.

Be warned before eating here! As my group discovered, if one person can not make it, on the day, they charge the table! The proprietors are extremely obnoxious and there are far more superior restaurants in Bridgend.

Called in here for a cocktail as we'd already eaten elsewhere. We were seated and our drinks order was taken promptly which was great. My Pina colada was a little under average, lacked the authentic tasks in my opinion but it was still ok. My fiance's mojito was absolutely terrible though and really not worth drinking or paying £10 for. No taste of mint, lime or sugar, all of which are the key ingredients. Staff reluctancely agreed to take it back and allow him to have a beer instead. Won't be going back to a cocktail bar which can't master their own cocktail menu. If a cocktail bar can't do a mojito it's hardly a cocktail bar.

Probably the most bland food I’ve had in a long time. There are lots of lunch menu options available locally that are cheaper and much better. The setting was very nice and the service good but I wouldn’t pay to eat here again.
